Big Bryson DeChambeau Announcement Made on Sunday
DeChambeau was participating in the LIV Golf Korea on Sunday, competing against some of the top golfers in the LIV landscape, such as Taylor Gooch and Matthew Wolff.

The two-time major champion finished the final round of the match at 6-under 66. DeChambeau concluded the day with a score of -19, while fellow Crushers GC teammate ended shooting -17.
His victory in South Korea marked his third LIV Golf win. The victory on Sunday marked his first LIV Golf win since 2023. DeChambeau had previously won a Chicago event in September of 2023 and a Greenbrier match in August of 2023.
After winning LIV Golf Korea with his Crushers GC team, much of the attention for DeChambeau and the rest of the golf world will turn to the upcoming PGA Championship.
DeChambeau spoke on the victory after securing the LIV Golf Korea trophy.

"Glad to have pushed through in this victory and won this event, but there's a lot more work to be done this year," DeChambeau said, per Patrick McDonald at CBS Sports. "There's three more majors, and my eyes are focused on that with all the other LIV events, doing my absolute best in every single event I show up to."

According to Golf Digest 75, DeChambeau earned a $4 million purse from the $20 million pool. Howell, who also represented Crushers GC, earned a $2.25 million purse for his second-place finish at the LIV Golf Korea event.
DeChambeau's focus will now turn toward the PGA Championship in North Carolina.

Associated Press TRUCKEE, Calif. (AP) — Ryan Gerard had two seven-point, birdie-eagle bursts and overcame five bogeys to win the Barracuda Championship on Sunday for his first PGA Tour victory. In breezy conditions at Tahoe Mountain Club in the only PGA Tour event that uses the modified Stableford scoring system, Gerard followed a two-point birdie with a five-point eagle on Nos. 2-3 and 10-11. The 25-year-old former North Carolina player had a 13-point round to finish with 47 points for a three-point victory over 2021 winner Erik van Rooyen of South Africa. Gerard fell short of van Rooyen's tournament record of 50 points. Fifth in the event two years ago, Gerard won in his 47th PGA Tour start to become the 999th winner in tour history. Played opposite the British Open, the tournament was co-sanctioned by the European tour. With the victory, Gerard received a spot in the PGA Championship next year but not the Masters. Van Rooyen had an eight-point day. He made a 20-foot eagle putt on the par-5 15th and a 30-footer for birdie on the par-4 18th. Todd Clements of England was third with 39 points after a 16-point round. Beau Hossler scored 17 points Sunday to tie for fourth at 37 with Max McGreevy (16) and Jacques Kruyswijk (10). Tied for the third-round lead with Rico Hoey, Gerard made a 20-foot eagle putt on the par-5 third and holed a 35-footer from the fringe on the par-5 11th. On the 11th, he hit his approach into the rough, but was allowed to take relief and move his ball to the fringe because of a sprinkler head. Gerard followed both seven-point runs with consecutive bogeys — with a point deducted for bogey — and missed a 3-footer on 16 for a three-putt bogey. The winner made a 5-foot birdie putt on 14 to get back the points he lost with the bogeys on the previous two holes. He also quickly canceled out the consecutive front-nine bogeys with a birdie on No. 7. Gerard played for the sixth straight week — a string that began with the U.S. Open and took him to Scotland last week. He was ninth and second in consecutive events in Texas in April. Scheffler's success obscured the struggles of Cameron Smith, the six-time PGA Tour event winner who signed a $140-plus million dollar contract with Saudi Arabia (Public Investment Fund) funded LIV Golf in February 2023. Smith missed the cut after a frustrating performance that caused fans to doubt where his career is headed, and where his motivation lies heading down the stretch of the 2025 Tour. Smith finished at +8 on Friday and did not make the cut. He has missed the cut at all four major PGA Tour events this year. Fans pointed to his lucrative LIV Golf contract as a reason for his struggles. "Got a jillion fishing 5-6 days a week except when he has to play," one reader said. "LIV Golf ruined him," a second added. "He got the bag (bag emoji) and checked out," a third said. "Took the bag and lost motivation," another said. "For some one title is enough." Bryson DeChambeau is going to be a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team this fall no matter what. U.S. captain Keegan Bradley texted Sports Illustrated's Bob Harig after the British Open on Sunday and confirmed that, even if DeChambeau falls out of the top six in the Ryder Cup standings, he'd use a captain's pick on him to ensure that DeChambeau gets to compete with the Americans at Bethpage Black. 'Bryson is going to be a very important piece to us winning the Ryder cup,' Bradley said. 'He brings so much. He brings energy, passion, but most importantly, he's one of the best players on the planet.' DeChambeau posted a final-round 64 on Sunday at Royal Portrush to finish T10 at the British Open. He's now finished inside the top 10 at three of the four major championships this season. But, as DeChambeau competes with LIV Golf, he's no longer eligible for points on the U.S. Ryder Cup standings. He is currently fifth on that list. The top six golfers on that list after the BMW Championship next month will earn automatic spots on the U.S. Ryder Cup team. As DeChambeau holds just a slight lead over Justin Thomas on the list, and there are several other PGA Tour members lurking just outside the cutoff, it's very possible that he could fall out of that top group. After the top six players are locked in, Bradley will then make his six captain's picks to round out his 12-man team. At that point, if necessary, he'd use one on DeChambeau. DeChambeau said he spoke with Bradley 'briefly' at Royal Portrush this week, and that he 'put something in our lockers that was pretty inspirational.' While he didn't reveal what that message was, DeChambeau is clearly in and ready to go for the Ryder Cup. 'It meant a lot,' he said. 'This year's no joke. We're tired of it. We're tired of losing.' DeChambeau, after making the jump to LIV Golf, was not on the United States' team for the last Ryder Cup in 2023. They fell to Europe that year in Rome. He has played on two previous teams, however, including the 2021 squad that won in Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. The Americans haven't lost at home since 2012, when the Europeans edged out a one-point win at Medinah Country Club. With DeChambeau now on board, he's hoping to bring an extra push with him to New York in September. 'I hope I can bring a lot of energy and a tsunami of a crowd that's going to be rooting for Team USA,' he said.
