Detained Russian vlogger asks DILG chief Remulla to drop charges
According to Jun Veneracion's report in '24 Oras' on Friday, Remulla said he received a letter from the Russian detainee.
'Sumulat sa akin na he is suffering from mental health issues daw,' Remulla said. 'Kung puwede i-drop na 'yung mga kaso, humihingi siya ng patawad.'
(He wrote to me that he is allegedly suffering from mental health issues…asking if the charges filed against him could be dropped, and he also asked for forgiveness.)
But Remulla maintained that Zdorovetskiy's actions should never go unpunished. He further stated that charges of unjust vexation against Zdorovetskiy for harassing three security guards will be filed in court next week.
Earlier, the Taguig Prosecutor's Office had dismissed the theft charges but found 'sufficient evidence on record to establish a reasonable certainty of conviction for the crime of unjust vexation.'
Remulla also said that Zdorovetskiy's legal team attempted to reach a settlement with the security guards.
'Mabuti na lang, 'yung mga security guards ay matibay ang loob. Hindi bumigay at itutuloy natin ang kaso,' he said.
(Good thing our security guards stood firm. They did not fall for it and will continue with the case.)

Atong Ang camp denies Patidongan tale, says he tried to extort P300 million
The camp of businessman Charlie "Atong" Ang has denied the allegations made by Julie "Dondon" Patidongan, one of the accused in the case of the missing sabungeros, or the cockfight enthusiasts who were abducted in 2021. Atty. Lorna Kapunan said Patidongan tried to extort P300 million from the businessman and other members of the board. She said Patidongan came out with his story after he knew that his extortion wouldn't work and that Ang was about to file a complaint against him. "I think all the statements are lies," Kapunan told GMA Integrated News. "They're false. And I think it did come at a time when it became evident to him that Mr. Atong Ang was not going to give in his extortion of P300 million, which he also tried, attempted to several members of the board," she added. Patidongan earlier said Ang and three others were behind the abductions. He said more than 100 were killed after being taken away. The former security chief in some of Ang's farms and cockfight arenas also said that actress Gretchen Barretto knew about the kidnappings. 94 individuals arrested over 'scam raffle' event in Tarlac
Nearly 100 individuals were arrested during an alleged illegal raffle event in San Vicente, Tarlac. According to Jun Veneracion's report on '24 Oras' on Thursday, about 200 cops raided the raffle event that was being live-streamed. Among those arrested were the financiers of the raffle. The event also did not have a permit from the government. 'Doon sa venue 1,000 mahigit yung tao doon and based on the law on illegal gambling, financiers, bettors, everybody puwedeng makasuhan. Sinegregate lang muna namin yung mas malalaking pasimuno,' said Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group acting director Police Brigadier General Bernard Yang. For only P20 per ticket, one can win P2 million worth of prizes, including a brand new SUV. But authorities found out that the raffle winners are already predetermined. The arrested suspects are now detained at the Tarlac Provincial Police Office for illegal gambling charges.
