Not-so-new faces have arrived on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 , which began filming on the streets of New York City this July. Though its premiere is nearly a year away (set to release May 1, 2026), we are getting teasers galore — and eager fans like ourselves have been spellbound by the stylish looks we've seen thus far!
The highly anticipated returning cast members Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci were captured sporting classic Runway office attire, as they appeared on set yesterday alongside costars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. It would hardly be The Devil Wears Prada without carefully curated ensembles — intentional from red heads to pointed toes.
Returning to her role as Emily Charlton, the anxious assistant to Miranda Priestly — who once showed newcomer Andy Sachs the ropes of dress — Emily Blunt looked both sophisticated and chic, sporting an on-trend pair of rounded Christian Dior sunnies.
It's no wonder her modern-day accessorization is simultaneously bold and understated; this combination defined Blunt's officewear in the 2006 film. She's informed on exclusive, high-brow fashion, yet at the same time, she feels as though she has something to prove (hence a designer logo that can't be missed). Nearly 20 years ago, Blunt mused in similar styles — promising, dependable silhouettes, brought up to Priestly-par with adventurous patterns and statement accessories. A consistent look is essential to building a strong character identity, with her fiery locks bringing it home. Below the bob was a look fusing office chic with everyday aesthetics: a corseted top, also by Dior, made business-appropriate with a collared shirt layered underneath, and paired with matching pinstripe slacks. The name-brand theme persisted as the star was spotted carrying a black tote by the French house, realistically-sized for a fashion-filled workday. Stanley Tucci, known to Runway magazine as Nigel, stepped out on set yesterday with a fierce first look. The editorial authority and Priestly-confidant is often spotted in suited ensembles and rounded glasses. His consistency is not surprising; instead, it's characteristic. Sleek plaid married warm hues of browns, burgundy, and beiges, balanced by a striped baby-blue collared shirt. Tucci, Streep, and Hathaway were seen busting through doors with the same force they used in 2006 — the trio of looks harmonious in corresponding neutral bases and hallmark suiting fabrics. If the past few weeks are any indication, fans are now well-versed on the themes that will define Andy Sachs and Miranda Priestly's contemporary wardrobes. Hathaway stunned in yet another oversized menswear look, with a dark-toned palette akin to her first day back on set. A touch of pearls around the neck emphasized notes of refined elegance and luxe accessorizing. Streep went for a monochrome style on July 29, donning a heather gray co-ord with a midi skirt and oversized blazer. The squared, cat-eye shades could not be left behind. The star of the show was adorned with stacked silver jewels — and we are living for the minimal silver hoops and thin wristwatch, offset by a chunky chain bangle and matching necklace.
As filming continues, we expect more styles to be served up across the City streets — and we can guarantee that Patricia Field has even more era-defining looks up her sleeve.
