The Mumbai Metro-3 has three phases:
Aarey Colony to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC): The 12.69-km phase was thrown open to the public on October 7, 2024. The stations are BKC, Bandra Colony, Santacruz, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) T1, Sahar Road, CSMIA T 2, Marol Naka, Andheri, SEEPZ and Aarey Colony JVLR (the only station at grade).
BKC to Worli: The phase two has the following stations — Dharavi, Shitaladevi Temple, Dadar, Siddhivinayak Temple, Worli and Acharya Atre Chowk (Worli Naka).
Worli to Cuffe Parade: The phase three will have the following stations — Science Museum, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai Central, Grant Road, Girgaon, Kalbadevi, CSMT, Hutatma Chowk, Churchgate, Vidhan Bhavan, Cuffe Parade.
The 9.77-km BKC-Worli Metro-3 operates eight trains on the section with line runs at a frequency of every 6 minutes and 20 seconds.
First Metro runs from Aarey JVLR at 6.30 am. Last from Acharya Atre Chowk is at 10.30 pm.
In a major relief for commuters, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has announced free Wi-Fi at the concourse level of all operational Aqua Line stations. This move comes in response to persistent mobile network blackouts inside stations and trains, which had disrupted mobile-based services including digital ticketing, UPI payments, and communication.

FOR THOSE COMING FROM DAHISAR OR BORIVLI
METROS FROM DAHISAR EAST: Take Metro-7 (click for detailed explanation) and get off at Gundavli. Change over to Metro-1's (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar) Western Express Highway station. It is a five-minute walk between Metro 7 and Metro-1 through a 58-metre foot overbridge, so plan accordingly. Using Metro-1, travel towards Ghatkopar and get off at Marol Naka. Change over to the underground Metro-3 which will take you to BKC or further to Worli.
If you are coming from an area in the vicinity of Dahisar, check where you can board Metro-7. Here is the list of stations: Dahisar East, Ovaripada, National Park, Devipada, Magathane, Poisar, Akurli, Kurar, Dindoshi, Aarey, Goregaon E (Interconnect Mumbai Metro-6: Pink Line), Jogeshwari E, Shankarwadi, and Gundavali (Earlier Andheri East, Interconnect Mumbai Metro 1 – Blue Line and Mumbai Metro: 7A – Red Line). Metro 7A is the southern extension of the operational Metro Line 7 from Andheri (East) to Dahisar (East).
METROS FROM BORIVLI WEST: Take Metro-2A (click for detailed explanation) from Borivali West and get off at Andheri West. Change over to Metro-1's DN Nagar station. Using Metro-1, travel towards Ghatkopar and get off at Marol Naka. Change over to the underground Metro-3 and head to BKC or further to Worli.

HOW TO GET TICKETS?
To book metro tickets through WhatsApp, send a 'Hi" to 86526 35500 for other lines and 96700 08889 for Metro 1. This will initiate a chatbot that will guide you through the booking process. You can also scan a QR code displayed at metro stations to access the same functionality.
You can also book tickets online using Mumbai 1 App. Additionally, there is also an NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) transport card called SBI Mumbai 1 card. It is a kind of smart card that you can recharge and use directly at the metro station.

WHEN WILL METRO-3 REACH CSMT?
The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) on February 28 achieved a significant milestone towards completion of the city's first underground corridor, as a trial train reached Cuffe Parade station.
MMRC managing director Ashwini Bhide had said, '…We have successfully initiated train movement from Acharya Atrey Chowk to Cuffe Parade. We are committed to commissioning the entire line by July 2025."

Two more trains on anvil on Mumbai Metro's lines 2A and 7 as ridership reaches 3 lakh daily
As the daily ridership for Metro Lines 2A (D N Nagar to Dahisar East) and 7 (Andheri East to Dahisar East) has surpassed the three-lakh mark, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) is planning to add two more trains to manage the increasing number of passengers. On Thursday, MMMOCL ran trial trips with two additional trains on the corridors during peak hours to judge their operational viability. Sources said that, depending on the outcome of the trial run, a decision will be made to incorporate these trains into regular operations. On July 8, a record 3.01 lakh commuters travelled through these two metro lines, the highest ever single-day ridership. Officials mentioned that the number of passengers is increasing gradually, particularly during rush office hours, resulting in platform and train congestion. Currently, 284 daily trips are run on Metro Line 2A and Line 7 together. In response to growing demand for passengers, there is a call to cut down on headway between two trains and add more trips. To respond to this, the transport authority piloted running two more trains on Thursday, aside from the standard schedule. It was stated by officials that the success or failure of the test run would determine if the services can be run regularly. With the additional services put in place, the number of operating trains on the two corridors will be 30. The growing ridership has prompted transport planners to look at ways to optimise capacity and improve frequency on both corridors. MMMOCL will make a decision in the next few days about routine deployment of the two new trains after reviewing performance figures on the trial run.

‘Giri Pradakshina' turns out to be ‘galla-brimming' fete for auto drivers
Visakhapatnam: For auto-rickshaw drivers, 'Giri Pradakshina' turned out to be a 'galla-brimming' festival. From Wednesday midnight to Thursday noon, the auto-drivers were busy fleecing the devotees by charging unbelievable rates for each trip. Lakhs of devotees arrived at Simhachalam for 'Giri Pradakshina', commencing their trek right from the wee hours of Wednesday. The festival drew devotees not just from Visakhapatnam but also from neighbouring districts and states as well. Approximately, 7 lakh to 8 lakh devotees took part in the Giri Pradakshina this year. Barring the deployed fleet of RTC buses that were plying in full capacities, the transport facility provided for the festival failed to cater to such a massive turnout. This prompted many devotees to board auto-rickshaws to reach their destinations. Cashing in on the demand, auto-rickshaw drivers demanded exorbitant rates from the passengers. After completing a long tiring trek under the scorching sun, G Madhavi, who works as a housemaid, was desperate to reach home. 'I was shocked when the auto-rickshaw driver demanded Rs.600 to drop me from Ghosala to HB Colony,' she mentioned. However, with no other mode of transport coming in handy, Madhavi was left with no other choice than to travel in the auto-rickshaw. Sharing a similar experience, Mahesh Patro, another devotee from Odisha who completed the 32-km-long trek, said, 'I paid Rs.1,000 to get dropped to Visakhapatnam railway station from Simhachalam. As I had to catch the train, I ended up paying the amount charged by the auto driver.' Most auto-rickshaws along the Simhachalam route were seen overloaded with not less than 10 passengers per trip, both on Giri Pradakshina day and the following day. In the meantime, netizens took to social media platforms to share traffic woes experienced as several locations, including Hanumanthawaka, Vepagunta and Simhachalam, witnessed traffic snarls.

NEW DELHI: The ministry of external affairs (MEA) on Thursday condemned remarks made by Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent five-nation tour, calling them 'irresponsible and regrettable.
