PTC Industries' subsidiary ATL signs MoU with Safran Aircraft Engines to strengthen India's defence aerospace ecosystem

Business Upturn24-06-2025
PTC Industries Limited announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies Limited (ATL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Safran Aircraft Engines, a global leader in aerospace propulsion. This partnership aims to deepen cooperation in the manufacturing of critical components and materials for military aircraft engines.
ATL, known for its expertise in aerospace-grade castings and materials, will work closely with Safran to support India's growing defense and aerospace needs. The collaboration aligns with the Indian Government's 'Make in India' initiative, reinforcing efforts to strengthen the local manufacturing ecosystem for defense technologies.
This MoU builds on the existing relationship between ATL and Safran, particularly their successful collaboration on commercial LEAP engines used in civil aviation. With this new step, both companies aim to expand their cooperation into the military space, supporting the development of an indigenous aeroengine ecosystem.
Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of PTC Industries, stated: 'This Memorandum of Understanding between Aerolloy Technologies Limited and Safran Aircraft Engines marks a significant step towards enhancing India's indigenous capabilities in military aircraft engine manufacturing. It aligns with the 'Make in India' initiative, fostering collaboration and innovation in the aerospace sector while addressing the defence needs of the country. The ongoing partnership for commercial LEAP engines lays a strong foundation for this expanded cooperation.'

Maruti Suzuki India posts 6% YoY decline in total sales for June 2025; Export performance at all-time monthly high

By Aman Shukla Published on July 1, 2025, 16:28 IST Maruti Suzuki India reported a 6% drop in total sales for June 2025, selling 167,993 units compared to 179,228 units in the same month last year. The decline was largely driven by weaker domestic demand, although the company recorded its highest-ever monthly exports. In the domestic market, Maruti sold 121,339 vehicles in June, including 2,433 units of its light commercial vehicle, Super Carry. Passenger vehicle sales stood at 118,906 units, down from 137,160 units in June 2024. Sales of mini and compact cars — which include popular models like the Alto, WagonR, and Baleno — fell sharply, dropping to 60,591 units from 73,444 a year earlier. The mid-size sedan Ciaz also saw muted numbers, with just over 1,000 units sold. Utility vehicles, a category that includes models like the Brezza, Ertiga, and Grand Vitara, contributed 47,947 units to the monthly tally, slightly lower than last year. Meanwhile, van sales, primarily led by the Eeco, also slipped year-on-year. On a more positive note, Maruti's exports touched 37,842 units in June — the highest monthly number ever for the company. Sales to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) came in at 8,812 units. Looking at the broader April-June quarter, Maruti's total sales stood at 527,861 units, marginally up from 521,868 units in the same period last year.
