Netflix's AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER Season 2 Adds Stars from SEVERANCE, Marvel's ECHO, and More — GeekTyrant
Among the new additions are Madison Hu as Fei, Dichen Lachman ( Severance ) as Yangchen, Dolly De Leon as both Lo and Li, Lily Gao as Ursa, Terry Chen as Jeong Jeong, Jon Jon Briones as Piandao, and Tantoo Cardinal ( Echo ) as Hama.
These characters are big players. Hama, for example, introduces one of the most disturbing and fascinating bending abilities in the entire franchise, which leads Katara down an unexpectedly dark path.
Yangchen, a former Avatar, brings Aang's spiritual lineage into focus, while Ursa ties directly into Zuko's tortured past. These characters aren't just cameos—they're emotional landmines waiting to explode.
Netflix seems to be embracing the heavier tone of Avatar's later seasons. The original animation famously got darker and more mature as it went on, and this casting announcement suggests the live-action adaptation is following suit.
Season 2 will also mark the debut of Miya Cech as Toph Beifong, one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. She'll be joined by Chin Han as Long Feng, Justin Chien as King Kuei, Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, Crystal Yu as Lady Beifong, Kelemete Mispeka as The Boulder, Hoa Xuande as Professor Zei, Lourdes Faberes as General Sung, and Rekha Sharma as Amita.
As for returning cast members, the core group is back. Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Elizabeth Yu (Azula), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh), and Daniel Dae Kim (Fire Lord Ozai) are all confirmed to reprise their roles.
There's no release date yet for Season 2, and no firm details on Season 3 beyond the fact that it's happening.

Meet Gift Edah, the multimedia visionary powering Africa's biggest brand experiences
For over 15 years, Gift Edah has been quietly transforming the landscape of multimedia production in Africa. As the Founder and Lead Creative of Rayvolution Media, he has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries of storytelling, blending creativity, strategy, and cutting-edge technology. From Netflix to Samsung, Heineken to the African Union, Edah's creative fingerprint is on some of the most ambitious and technically complex productions across the continent. 'I realised early in my professional journey that there was a lot of technology involved in delivering various kinds of creative outputs, but very little support by means of the availability of said technology and the know-how to deliver the desired output,' he recalls. 'This pushed me to start my journey in development, and then it metamorphosed into a consistent, outstanding technology-enabled creative expression that has built up to the brand that we have become today.' Rayvolution Media isn't just a production agency; it's a solutions powerhouse. 'We enjoy solving complex problems,' he explains. 'What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to excellence, no matter the brief, budget, or complexity. We show up ready to give our best, roll our sleeves, lean into the challenge, and build creative technology solutions that work and move the needle.' The Heineken Challenge: Creative Precision at Lightning Speed A recent example of this mindset was Rayvolution's role in the Heineken UEFA Champions League Finals Activation. 'The brief came in at the last minute, just 36 hours to go,' Edah reveals. 'We had to immediately deploy two teams to Lagos and Port Harcourt. We first had to provision the sites with dedicated internet by locating the nearest base station and deciding on a fibre or point-to-point framework. Then we aligned with both agencies, Livespot in Lagos and Expoze in Port Harcourt, to establish protocol with the AV infrastructure on ground.' The execution required meticulous logistics, the deployment of creative technicians, and live coordination under immense pressure. The result? A seamless activation that reinforced Rayvolution's ability to deliver under pressure while maintaining quality at every level. With over 300 digital storytelling projects and 200+ live productions under his belt, Edah has mastered the nuances of scaling operations across different regions and even continents. 'Nothing beats having the correct information about your deliverables, the right tools for execution, and a skilled team that stays updated with emerging trends and technologies,' he says. 'This and never allowing yesterday's success or failure to affect today's challenge.' Shaping the Next Generation Through Social Impact and Technology But Edah's vision extends far beyond client briefs. He's equally passionate about using multimedia as a tool for empowerment. He has been involved in programs such as Skill Sprint and the British Council's Creative Hustle, helping young people acquire relevant skills in a rapidly changing digital economy. 'Human capital development is one of the ways Africa can level up in the League of Nations,' he explains. 'Bringing the next generation of young creatives up to speed is my topmost priority. Not many schools teach what we do, yet these skills can transform the livelihoods of at-risk youth.' He's mentored over 500 young creatives and continues to share the same guiding principles. 'Knowledge first. Whatever your hands find to do, do it very well. Always strive to be the best at what you do and be level-headed while doing it. Ask the right questions. Collaborate. A tree never makes a forest.' Looking ahead, Edah believes Africa's multimedia sector is on the cusp of global relevance. From Afrobeats visuals to virtual events, gaming to IP development, the opportunities are limitless. 'Multimedia producers can now shape Africa's cultural, social, and economic future,' he says. Rayvolution Media is already adapting. Edah shares how his team was livestreaming to 15 concurrent platforms, including Instagram, before the platform even offered an API. 'Now with AI, we can approach more complex limits and deliver more answers to the media problems of tomorrow, which we can envision today.' And the future? 'We want to redefine multimedia quality locally and deliver global standards. That means expanding our team to include some of the best hands, including those in the diaspora. We're exploring partnerships to access tools like AR, XR, 3D motion capture, and even adapting these to live broadcast. The goal is simple: to be one of the best multimedia technology support teams out of Africa.'

The Punisher's Role in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Teased by Kevin Feige — GeekTyrant
When Marvel first introduced The Piunisher antihero on the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #129 back in 1974, it came with the the introduction, 'He's different! He's deadly! He's — THE PUNISHER!' Co-created by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, and John Romita, the character was initially a hired gun working for the Jackal, tasked with taking down Spider-Man over a murder he didn't commit. From the very beginning, Frank Castle was a lethal wildcard, and while he eventually realized Spidey wasn't his real enemy, their relationship has always been… complicated. Now, more than 50 years later, the Punisher is coming full circle and coming back to Spider-Man's world, but this time on the big screen. And according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, this team-up (or clash?) is going to be something fans have never seen before. After Spider-Man: No Way Home left Peter Parker (Tom Holland) erased from everyone's memory, he's finally living as the 'proper Spider-Man' Feige has always envisioned… alone, broke, and patrolling the streets without the Avengers on speed dial. '[As] sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing, for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories, him being a proper Spider-Man. 'Him being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with, for lack of a better term, street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events that he faced when working with the other characters.' This is where Spider-Man: Brand New Day comes in. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film will lean heavily into the street-level side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that means new faces, including Frank Castle. Feige explained: 'When you do that, you say, 'Okay, who are the other street-level characters that we've never seen him interact with?' And of course, I love that Punisher started in a Spider-Man comic, and that great cover.' Jon Bernthal's Punisher, who made his MCU return in Daredevil: Born Again , is officially stepping into Spider-Man's world. This marks the first time the character will appear in a Spider-Man feature film, a move that feels long overdue considering their comic book history. Feige wouldn't say too much, but he couldn't help teasing how excited he is for what's coming: 'I don't want to say too much, but Destin, I will say too much, Destin is doing an amazing job right now on that movie. That starts shooting very soon, and he's got eight or nine comic covers up on his wall in his art department that he is bringing to life in this movie, which is super cool.' Details are still under wraps regarding the story, but rumors point to appearances from major crime-centric villains like Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone, which are characters that should make any Spidey fan's ears perk up. Considering Punisher's war on organized crime, his involvement feels like a natural fit. The big question is… will Frank Castle be hunting Spider-Man like in the comics, or will they begrudgingly team up to take down a bigger threat? Given Spider-Man's 'wanted man' history after Far From Home and the Punisher's brutal sense of justice, there's a strong chance their first encounter won't exactly be friendly. But as history shows from Amazing Spider-Man #135 to countless crossovers since, these two have a way of finding common ground when the city needs saving. Sony Pictures has locked in Spider-Man: Brand New Day for July 31, 2026, giving fans plenty of time to speculate about how this partnership will play out. Whether Punisher ends up being an ally, an adversary, or something in between, one thing is clear, this is going to be a awesome Spider-Man story unlike any we've seen in the MCU. Via: CB
