Watch: Wilson x Caitlin Clark Signature Series YR2 Launch
Caitin Clark has teamed up with Wilson Sporting Goods to launch her own line of basketballs.
After being sidelined with an injury, Caitlin Clark has now reach the timeframe she was expected to be out. But all eyes are on whether she'll play in the Indiana Fever's next game.
Clark has been out for the past two weeks after she suffered a left quad strain during the Fever's 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty on May 24. While it forced Indiana to play without their star player for four games, the team said Clark would be out for a minimum of two weeks, meaning she would be eligible to return for the Fever's road game against the Atlanta Dream on June 10.
She's able to play, but will Clark actually suit up?
Is Caitlin Clark playing Tuesday vs Atlanta Dream?
Despite the two-week time period being over, Clark will not play against the Dream on Tuesday. After Monday's practice, Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters Clark is expected to miss her fifth consecutive game.

Even though Clark returned to practice, White said the team is still "going to be cautious" with her and make sure she's fully ready to go before allowing her to play again. Indiana is also taking the same approach with injured guard Sophie Cunningham.
"It's one thing to do some shooting drills. It's another thing to get out there on the floor, get into movement patterns, rhythm, timing," White said, according to the Indianapolis Star, part of the USA TODAY Sports Network. "So picking and choosing the things they can be in in practice, so we can see their progression. Both of them being out for long periods of time, you've got to work your way into being game ready."
Clark said the previous week she wouldn't "rush back if it's not worth it" and it's more of a day-to-day approach to determine whether she can return.
"It's the type of injury, like, you don't know," Clark said. "When I wake up, I'll feel different than the day before. We'll see."
The 2024 WNBA rookie of the year was unsure when her injury occurred in the game against the Liberty, but she said she knew it happened early in the game. She received an MRI after she had pain following the game, which revealed the left quad strain.
When will Caitlin Clark return to play?
With Clark ruled out against Atlanta, the next game she could possibly return is Saturday, June 14 at home against the Liberty, the same team against who she suffered the injury.
Indiana has gone 2-2 without Clark, including wins in its past two games. The Fever are 4-4 on the 2025 season.

Colts RB Salvon Ahmed suffers 'severe leg injury' in practice due to reported illegal hip-drop tackle by teammate

Indianapolis Colts running back Salvon Ahmed's NFL season is in jeopardy. And it's due to a reported hip-drop tackle by a teammate during training camp. Ahmed sustained the injury on Sunday. Per reporters on the scene, Ahmed broke free for a long run during a live 11-on-11 drill in which tackling was permitted. According to reports, undrafted rookie safety Trey Washington chased Ahmed down from behind and dragged him down via an illegal hip-drop tackle. Per The Athletic's James Boyd, "Ahmed immediately grabbed his lower right leg and screamed in agony" after the tackle. ESPN's Stephen Holder reports that Ahmed's right ankle was "stuck in an awkward position." Practice was paused, and trainers removed Ahmed from the field on a stretcher. Ahmed was transported to a local hospital for X-rays. The precise nature of Ahmed's injury wasn't immediately clear. But head coach Shane Steichen told reporters that Ahmed had sustained a 'severe leg injury.' Hip-drop tackle is banned in games The NFL banned the hip-drop tackle prior to the 2024 season via a unanimous vote of team owners. NFL competition committee executive vice president Jeff Miller said prior to the vote that the technique 'results in about a 25 times rate of injury as a typical tackle.' Per the NFL rulebook, a hip-drop tackle occurs when a defender does the following: (a) grabs the runner with one or both hands or wraps the runner with both arms; and (b) unweights himself by swiveling and dropping his hips and/or lower body, landing on and/or trapping the runner's leg(s) at or below the knee." Steichen described the tackle that injured Ahmed as a hip-drop tackle and said that Washington was "down in the dumps" because of the injury. "Never want to see that happen," Steichen told reporters, per ESPN. "I know we don't encourage hip-drop tackles. "I know Trey's down in the dumps, and I don't think he's trying to do that. We're just trying to create an edge. ... Those [backups] are going to have to tackle come preseason." Ahmed, 26, is approaching his fifth NFL season. He played his first four seasons with the Miami Dolphins as a backup who averaged 4.3 yards per carry and tallied 867 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns in 38 appearances. Ahmed signed with the Colts this offseason on a one-year, $1.17 million contract with no guaranteed money. Washington signed with the Colts this offseason after four years as a starter at Mississippi. Veteran Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin offered his support to both Washington and Ahmed in comments to The Athletic after Sunday's injury to Ahmed. 'Young Trey, he's competing for a job, straight up,' Franklin said. 'So, he's out here trying to compete and trying to be better. We're warriors on that field. When we step on the field, we understand what the possibilities are. "Obviously, we're a team. We're not trying to hurt each other, but at the same time, we're competing. These guys are trying to feed their families. It's a part of the game, but definitely a tough break for Salvon and definitely praying for him.'

ESPN's Holly Rowe provides promising Caitlin Clark injury update

While Caitlin Clark missed her seventh straight contest during the Indiana Fever's road date at the Seattle Storm, ESPN reporter Holly Rowe provided an encouraging update on Clark's injury recovery. "Well, Stephanie White did give us a small update on Caitlin that she has started some full-court running, full-speed running the last four or five days. Still not doing full basketball activities, but there has been some progress made recently," Rowe reported. That's significant progress for Clark. Fever head coach Stephanie White also provided an update on Clark during her pregame media session. "Yeah, we have updates and her recovery's going well. It's just, I think for us, staying the course, and making sure that we're really diligent about each step that we take and that we don't have setbacks and that we're patient with it. "I know she wants to be out here on the floor and we want her out here on the floor, but making sure that she's ready is the most important thing. I still don't know how far we are. We're going to take it one step at a time, one day at a time and go from there,' White said. Last Sunday, Rowe shared an injury update on Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and provided a possible window for Clark to return. According to Rowe, Fever head coach Stephanie White had indicated that Clark didn't get enough practice and conditioning time with the team when she made her last return from a left groin injury. The Fever intended to be much more patient in this latest return from Clark's current right groin injury. With this injury return, the Fever want more of a ramp-up with more practice and conditioning time in mind. That led Rowe to suggest that later in August might make sense as a timeline for Clark's return from this right groin injury. Indiana has a four-day break during the third week of August, between the Fever's Aug. 17 road game against the Connecticut Sun and their Aug. 22 home game against the Minnesota Lynx. In 13 games played, Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game on 36.7% field goal shooting and 27.9% 3-point accuracy. Frustration boils over as Wings fall 88-78 to Caitlin Clark-less Fever at AAC

Friday's Dallas Wings-Indiana Fever game was the second game this season originally planned for Arlington's College Park Center before the WNBA moved both to the American Airlines Center in hopes of capitalizing on a matchup between two of the league's young stars — Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark. In both games, Clark didn't play, Bueckers did and shined, but the Wings fell short: an unfortunate case of deja vu for the 8-21 Dallas Wings. Friday's 88-78 loss was the team's eighth loss in 10 games. After starting the season 1-11, Dallas had won five of seven to build momentum heading into July, but this recent stretch has the team in 11th place, seven games back of the 8th and final playoff spot. Friday's game came with an extra level of frustration directed at the officiating crew. Bueckers was sent to the floor multiple times in the game with no foul calls, one of which resulted in her only turnover in a brilliant 22-point, 4-assist, 2-steal night. She said postgame the team didn't match the Fever's physicality until the fourth quarter. 'We're just building reps and we're a very young team,' Bueckers said. 'This is a new experience for a lot of us playing together, growing together.' The team is indeed one of the youngest in the WNBA and Bueckers highlighted the importance of gaining quality reps in close games as an opportunity to grow. Her head coach offered similar sentiments. 'You have to win games,' Wings head coach Chris Koclanes said. 'We have to sit in this and it's not going to feel good, but you learn and you have a positive mindset and you don't let one game try to affect the rest.' But that positive mindset may be cracking. Players were visibly frustrated at times throughout Friday's game, not just at officiating, but at the scoreboard. Dallas shot just 2-15 from behind the arc, and one of those makes was a last-second three-pointer by Li Yueru after the game was long decided. In the 38 or so competitive minutes of the game, Dallas shot just 14 three-pointers. Indiana, by comparison, shot 28 and made 12 of them. Bueckers said she wanted to hunt more threes in transition moving forward, but Indiana did a good job limiting their three-point opportunities. In addition to the 30-point differential from behind the arc, Indiana outrebounded Dallas 44-30, including 14 offensive rebounds compared to Dallas' 4. Yueru, Dallas' 6'7' center, played just eight minutes as Dallas got killed on the boards. Koclanes said he liked what Haley Jones was bringing and wanted to get the team's tempo up. Indiana had 14 fast break points to Dallas' 10. Aziaha James, another young bright spot for the Wings, played just 16 minutes Friday. Her minutes have fluctuated from 38 in early July down to just seven in Wednesday's 88-85 loss to the Atlanta Dream. 'We had 10 available tonight, when Maddy comes back, we'll have 11. If you divide 200 by 11, no one's going to be happy,' Koclanes said postgame. 'That's what I'm trying to say, but that's on me each night. You want to try and establish rhythm and normality with your subbing and rotations and you go into every game thinking that's going to be the case and then the game things change.' Another interesting minutes situation Friday was Arike Ogunbowale's playing time. The franchise's cornerstone for the better part of a decade played 26 of the game's first 30 minutes before playing zero fourth quarter minutes. When asked about the decision to play the 4th without Ogunbowale, Koclanes stood by his decision and said the group on the floor had momentum and he wanted to see what that group could do. However, in an answer to another question about rebounding, that resolve started to crack as Koclanes appeared to take a shot at his guards' defense. He said his team is getting beat at the point of attack and that is affecting the team's rebounding position. 'Our guards are getting beat off the bounce, [so] our posts have to rotate to protect the rim. Now their posts are rolling three down to rebound,' Koclanes said. 'It takes everybody being in there when we throw two people at the point of attack because our guards can't guard one-on-one so we've got to send two people behind the ball.' Round it all up and it's a disappointing loss in a season filled with them. Koclanes and the team have preached about staying the course and gaining experience with a young group, but Friday's game showed the harsh reality of professional sports: team chemistry and growth don't feel as good as wins. More from 3 things from the Mavericks' historic 80-64 loss to the Grizzlies Chandler Parsons says he would have signed with the Mavericks for 'a lot less' than the max Parsons' return to Dallas was anything but notable Only a last-second 3 saved the Mavericks from a terrible franchise record 3 steps to beating the Orlando Magic Harrison Barnes and Chandler Parsons could have played well together Grizzlies 80, Mavericks 64: Dallas has historically bad offensive night
