More info Former Escape to the Chateau stars, Dick and Angel Strawbridge, have been showered with support following a heartfelt update they shared on social media. The beloved duo, known for captivating audiences on Channel 4's popular series until its conclusion in 2022, are no strangers to updating fans about their charming life in France. Tying the knot at their exquisite French chateau in 2015, the couple welcomed two children: Arthur, now aged 12, and Dorothy, who is 11. Recently, via Instagram, they marked an important family event as Arthur wrapped up his inaugural year at college — comparable to secondary school in the UK — boasting some notable achievements, as noted by the Express. In a post featuring a snapshot of Arthur donning a shirt awash with signatures – potentially marking his final day – Dick and Angel expressed: "Congratulations to our big boy Arthur! His first year at college is officially over and he has had a ball.." They further gushed: "It's a bit of a gushy parent this young man received some pretty big achievements this coming 3rd in his school for a National French Mathematics he was competing against all ages up to 15!", reports Devon Live. Continuing their earnest narrative: "Love him to bits and just could not be prouder... Dorothy still has a week left at it's all go with spectaculars and end of school parties." Concluding their update, they extended well wishes to all: "Have a fabulous Thursday!". Arthur has been showered with supportive messages from fans celebrating his impressive achievement. "Many congratulations Arthur, enjoy your holidays," a fan expressed, while another shared: "Wow that's fantastic Arthur, well done to you. Yes proud parent moments indeed." A third contributed: "Congratulations and well done Arthur," along with another who said: "Well done Arthur, that's fantastic." Dick Strawbridge, who is 65 years old, hinted at a potential return of Escape to the Chateau earlier this year during a conversation. He explained the conclusion of the beloved show as coinciding with key events in his children's lives, noting Arthur's preparation for senior school and Dorothy approaching her own transition. Speaking to a publication, he said, "The thing is, Escape to the Chateau is a year-long project for every season, and Arthur starts senior school, Dorothy is in her last year before she moves, and that change in the children was the rationale." He further noted: "Because we had back in 2022 huge conversations saying, before they get all the pressures that young people have in their lives on them, it was time for us to walk away from the escape. That's why we did it."

Jeremy Clarkson says he's 'done' after struggling with new 'venture'

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Jeremy Clarkson declared he's had enough of his pub venture, announcing he's "done" with engaging in future business pursuits after finding difficulty managing the enterprise behind such endeavours. The Grand Tour presenter embarked on this fresh commercial challenge in July 2024 when he took over an Asthall pub. His decision came on the heels of previous success with Diddly Squat farm and its associated farm shop. Clarkson has documented his foray into the pub scene through the newest season of 'Clarkson's Farm', yet he insists there will be no repeat performances. The pub, titled The Farmer's Dog, has become a nationally reputed attraction, spurring considerable online engagement and reviews. Speaking to The Times, Jeremy expressed his resignation from entrepreneurial life: "I'm done with business now. I am not starting another business as long as I live. I don't understand it and am not motivated by money. I just want a good craic." Clarkson has used his show to share insights into his experiences as a novice pub landlord, including the humorous reason behind naming the establishment The Farmer's Dog. Viewers of the fourth episode witness him navigating paperwork related to the pub acquisition, where he uncovers that Oxfordshire is popular among those who indulge in sexual escapades in public areas, reports the Mirror. Jeremy Clarkson was bemused to discover that the garden area of his recently acquired pub is officially marked as a "a picnic site" by the local council. After delving into this curious detail, Clarkson rang his lawyer who informed him that the spot had previously been linked with some "unwanted and anti-social behaviour" which "might put you off eating your picnic". The lawyer revealed: "We have happened upon some quite interesting photographs which capture certain graffiti and certain goings-on." Upon visiting the site, Clarkson confirmed his suspicions, noting discarded underwear in trees. He humorously addressed the dogging rumours on Instagram, posting a photo outside the pub with undergarments dangling from a stick, captioned: "Tell me you bought a pub on a dogging site without telling me you bought a pub on a dogging site." In other news, the presenter of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? had a grave health scare that landed him in hospital after he woke up one morning feeling unusually "clammy" with a tight chest and strange feelings in his arm. Investigation revealed one artery was completely blocked, and another was nearly so, leading to surgery. Post-scare, Clarkson has had to adopt what he terms "horrific" lifestyle modifications such as exercising, limiting his alcohol intake, and diet changes, leaving him to jest that he's "not allowed to have fun anymore".

Glastonbury Festival mystery Patchwork act revealed as iconic band take the stage

There had been much anticipation over mysterious act Patchword. Glastonbury Festival have worked extremely hard to keep the identity of the mysterious Patchwork act a secret, but just hours before the band were set to take the Pyramid stage a clue was spotted and the secret was ruined. Speculation has been swirling on social media, with fans guessing the mystery act might be Chappell Roan, Harry Styles or even Robbie Williams - though Robbie has since dismissed those rumours. Since then it has been revealed that the mysterious act Patchwork is none other than the iconic Pulp. ‌ The secret was ruined earlier when a festival goer revealed to the Mirror that they spotted a revealing clue on a sound engineer's box near the Pyramid Stage earlier today. ‌ A source has shared exclusive photographs of the boxes - one of which is labelled with the band name Pulp. The source stated: "I spotted the sound engineer box with Pulp's name on as they were setting up during the Kaiser Chiefs set." Earlier this month, the well-regarded social media account SecretGlasto, known for accurately revealing surprise acts at Worth Farm over the past decade, revealed that the anonymous act was Pulp. The SecretGlasto X (formerly Twitter) has been teasing announcements for a big reveal at 10am on Monday, June 9. The results were a video compilation set to the soundtrack of Pulp's 1995 Britpop anthem, Common People. Shared across X and Instagram, the 35 second clip featured a quote from keyboardist Candida Doyle discussing her patchwork hobby in a BBC Radio 2 interview, followed by frontman Jarvis Cocker saying it's the "best music festival I've ever been to, easy, Glastonbury." ‌ Later in the clip, former BBC Radio 1 host Scott Mills asks Jarvis, "Would you step up?" before replying, "If it was a life-or-death situation." Pulp originally headlined Glastonbury in 1995, stepping in as last-minute replacements for The Stone Roses, and returned to headline again in 1998. This year marks three decades since their breakout performance - and the release of their landmark album Different Class, which solidified their status as Britpop icons. In an interview with the BBC about the many yet-to-be announced acts at Glastonbury, Ad, who helps run the SecretGlasto social media accounts, explained: "Of the four main slots, I think we've got three of them, maybe four, nailed down." ‌ "I think it's definitely people who have got relationships with the festival who will be doing the big slots. An emotional return for one or two, I think. Some unfinished business." Ad from SecretGlasto continued: "We've got loads of contacts at different stages and record labels and whatever else. And people trust us to be sensible with the information. And the bands themselves don't want empty secret sets do they? So we have had occasions where they have come to us." ‌ Interestingly, the six individuals running the popular social media account with 87.5K followers on X have no professional ties to the music industry. Another account manager, JB, shared with the BBC: "Now that we've been around for 10 years and have a decent bit of clout, we will contact some of the artists via their inboxes, and quite often, they're happy to confirm. "Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they block us. But generally we're able to piece all that together fairly quickly."
