Virginia Madsen Mourns Brother Michael After His Death at 67: 'I'll Miss the Boy He Was Before the Legend'

Virginia Madsen issued a statement mourning the loss of Michael Madsen, her older brother Michael was found dead in his home on Thursday, July 3 at age 67 'I'll miss the boy he was before the legend; I miss my big brother,' said VirginiaVirginia Madsen is mourning the sudden death of her older brother and fellow actor Michael Madsen, who was found dead July 3 at age 67. 'My brother Michael has left the stage,' Virginia wrote in a statement shared with Variety. 'He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother — etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark.' 'We're not mourning a public figure,' the Sideways Oscar nominee, 63, said. 'We're not mourning a myth — but flesh and blood and ferocious heart. Who stormed through life loud, brilliant and half on fire. Who leaves us echoes — gruff, brilliant, unrepeatable — half legend, half lullaby.' Virginia concluded, 'I'll miss our inside jokes, the sudden laughter, the sound of him. I'll miss the boy he was before the legend; I miss my big brother. Thank you to everyone reaching out with love and memory. In time, we'll share how we plan to celebrate his life — but for now, we stay close, and let the silence say what words can't.' Per NBC4 Los Angeles citing a local sheriff's department, Michael's death appeared to be from natural causes, with no foul play suspected. Los Angeles County deputies responded to a 911 call at the Reservoir Dog actor's Malibu home, according to the outlet. "What we understand is Michael had a cardiac arrest and was found unresponsive in his Malibu home earlier this morning," Madsen's manager Ron Smith told PEOPLE. "Michael was also preparing to release a new book called Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems, currently being edited." Michael was previously married to Georganne LaPiere, Jeannine Bisignano and DeAnna Madsen. He shared sons Calvin, Luke and Hudson with DeAnna and sons Christian and Max with Bisignano. Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom's Split Reportedly Had Everything To Do With Their Daughter Daisy

Going through a divorce is difficult for anyone, but add kids, and everything gets so much more complicated. Will they be able to handle it? How do you break the news to them? It's tough! For Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, it was actually because of their 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove that they decided to make their split official, according to a new source. Apparently, the 'Teenage Dream' singer and Lord of the Rings actor 'want to protect' their daughter Daisy among their public split, an insider told PEOPLE. A second source shared that the reason they decided to go with a breakup was so that their daughter wouldn't see an unhealthy relationship. More from SheKnows Bindi Irwin's Daughter Grace Spotted Something Stunning at Australia Zoo & the Photo Is Pure Magic 'At a certain point, they had to admit it's better for Daisy to see their parents separately, then she won't grow up feeling the tension and animosity,' the source told the outlet. That makes sense! Ask any kids of parents who stayed together for the kids, and those kids can tell. It's not healthy to model a tension-filled marriage for your child, when you could show them that sometimes it's better to split up and remain happy apart. Another source told PEOPLE that Daisy comes first for Perry and Bloom. 'They are there for Daisy and have been,' the insider said. 'Daisy is their angel, and they want to protect her from anything adverse.' The insider added, 'They want to keep a friendly relationship so each can be around her separately or together.' Good for them! Last week, the American Idol alum shared a photo of her daughter Daisy, who she was spending time with in Australia while Bloom was in Venice for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding. Perry posted a photo of Daisy holding the steering wheel in a boat, soaking up the Australian sun. It looks like pure bliss. Even though things are no doubt difficult right now for Perry, she seems to be making the most of it to ensure her daughter isn't affected by the breakup.
