Official Look at the ‘Naruto Shippuden' x Converse Collaboration
The Kakashi-inspired sneaker takes on the classic high-top silhouette, rendered in a color palette of 'Barely Grey' and 'Dark Water.' These shades directly echo the enigmatic sensei's signature appearance and attire. A distinctive pair of Velcro strap fasteners is implemented over the traditional shoelaces, adding a unique design element. Furthermore, a red motif embroidery and a Kitsune mask charm serve as direct nods to Kakashi's past affiliations with the ANBU Black Ops.
The collection also spotlights the Converse Weapon, reimagining the '80s court classic with design cues inspired by Itachi Uchiha. This particular shoe features a unique jacquard underlay, carefully mirroring the distinctive pattern of Itachi's iconic cloak.
In addition to these character-specific footwear styles, fans will have the opportunity to further personalize their sneakers through Converse By You. This digital customization experience will allow users to craft their own unique designs, with options including the shoe's canvas color, tongue print liner, toe cap, license plate, and a variety of graphic prints directly inspired by theNaruto Shippudenanime.
Original Story (April 15, 2025):Converse is teaming up withNaruto Shippudenfor a special sneaker collection: theNarutoxConverse Chuck TaylorPack, honoring three beloved characters – Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Gaara.
Each Chuck Taylor is uniquely designed to reflect the essence of its character. Naruto's pair features his signature orange color with black laces and the iconic Eight Sign Seal from his abdomen. Sasuke's version sports a clean white upper with purple rope-style laces, inspired by his outfit during the Orochimaru arc. It's accented with the Cursed Seal of Heaven and a blue heel stripe for added detail. Gaara's design stands out in deep red, featuring the kanji for 'love' stitched on the collar and a cracked sole texture representing his sand-based powers.
Instead of the classic Converse patch, each shoe includes a 3D metallic shuriken badge. The heel plates are also specially customized to resemble each character's forehead protector – Naruto's Hidden Leaf, Sasuke's scratched-out Leaf and Gaara's Hidden Sand symbol.

Dead & Company kicks off epic Grateful Dead 60th shows in foggy San Francisco
Golden Gate Park became a swirling sea of tie-dye and denim as tens of thousands of Deadheads descended on the Polo Field for the opening night of Dead & Company's three-night residency celebrating the Grateful Dead's 60th anniversary. A thick blanket of fog rolled in overhead — a fitting curtain for a band born in the Bay Area and forever entwined with its weather, ethos and mythology. The show on Friday, Aug. 1 opened on what would have been late guitarist Jerry Garcia's 83rd birthday. His daughter, Trixie Garcia, took the stage to introduce the band, setting the tone for an evening steeped in remembrance but focused squarely on the music. Many fans had traveled from across the country to be there. Around the venue, Dead-themed vendors lined JFK Promenade, with T-shirt stalls, incense sellers and bootleg vinyl dealers doing brisk business, adding to the festival's nostalgic energy. The first set was a slow burn. While it featured crowd-pleasers like 'Feel Like a Stranger,' 'Tennessee Jed,' and 'Althea,' the band struggled to build early momentum — especially with its clunky version of Martha and the Vandellas 'Dancing in the Street' front-loaded in the lineup. It wasn't until the second set that Dead & Company — featuring original members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart alongside John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimentii and Jay Lane — found their groove. Grahame Lesh, son of founding bassist Phil Lesh, who died earlier this year, joined the band for his dad's signature song, 'Box of Rain,' then remained onstage for 'Playing in the Band,' which subtly incorporated elements of Miles Davis' 'All Blues.' From there, the band embraced its improvisational roots, guiding the crowd through a cosmic sequence of 'Eyes of the World,' 'Terrapin Station' and the free-form standards 'Drums' and 'Space.' Guitar phenom and opening act Billy Strings returned for a haunting 'Wharf Rat,' which nodded to 'The Other One' before dissolving into a jubilant 'Not Fade Away.' The night closed with a reverent encore of Bob Dylan's 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door,' sending fans into the fog, smiling and spent. Offstage, San Francisco embraced the celebration. The city wrapped three Muni vehicles in psychedelic prints — dubbed the 'Psychedeli-bus' and 'Trippy Train' — serving both festivalgoers and daily commuters. Eight specially bred 'Grateful Dead' roses were also planted in the park's historic Rose Garden. 'There's no better place to celebrate 60 years of the Grateful Dead than right here in San Francisco,' said Mayor Daniel Lurie earlier in the week. The shows, which continue through Sunday, Aug. 3, are expected to draw 60,000 attendees each night, with general admission tickets starting at $635 and some VIP packages reselling for more than $7,000. Still, for many in attendance, the cost was beside the point. Lennon's, a new restaurant with a ‘come and stay' philosophy, opens this weekend
A new restaurant concept is set to open its doors in downtown Naperville this weekend. Lennon's at 16 W. Jefferson Ave. offers a mix of dining and entertainment in the three-story space previously occupied by Latin-inspired AltaVida, owner Jeremy Stolberg said. The concept they're going for is 'come and stay,' he said. 'I know for myself, a lot of times we'll go out to dinner with a couple of other couples or friends or groups of friends, and it's sort of like, 'OK, we had a great dinner. Now what?'' Stolberg said. 'And this, to me, was an opportunity to capture the whole night. So come in, have dinner, stay for some cocktails, have a leisurely dessert, watch some entertainment, and really be able to go somewhere and have an entire night rather than just simply having dinner.' Similar to AltaVida, Lennon's will use multiple floors to bring different experiences to its guests. The first floor will be for patrons ordering small plates meant to be shared. One floor up, Lennon's Lounge will features upscale bar food and live entertainment. The third floor, which will open two or three months from now, will be have a steakhouse concept. There is no singular cuisine the small plates at Lennon's draw inspiration from, Stolberg said. Options include everything from Gulf shrimp ceviche ($18) and char-grilled Spanish octopus ($19) to spiced lamb meatballs ($14) and NOLA buttermilk fried chicken ($32). The dishes reflect the cooking style of Lennon's chef Luis Alvarez, Stolberg said. 'His specialty is just being creative, figuring out how we can take unique ingredients and maybe put them to a non-unique or not as unique dish, and add some unique ingredients and come up with something that's creative and delicious all at the same time,' he said. The second floor features a performance stage. A band is scheduled to play on opening night, but future entertainment could include magic acts, comedy shows and even bingo with music provided by a DJ. While he has worked in the hospitality industry previously, Stolberg said Lennon's is his biggest endeavor to date — and he's really excited to open a restaurant in Naperville. 'I grew up on the north shore in Highland Park. I live in Deerfield, and I was not familiar with Naperville,' he said. 'I fell in love with the downtown area, the people, the businesses, the vibe. It's got a great restaurant scene. … So very quickly, I just fell in love with Naperville. I thought, 'What a great place to put down some roots for the business.'' Already, he said, he feels the warmth of the Naperville community. As he's prepared for the restaurant's opening over the last month, Stolberg estimates as many as 100 people have stopped by to check out what they're doing. 'The community has been amazing. Just people stopping in and chatting and wishing us luck and saying they want to come in,' he said. 'I'm excited to be part of the community here.' In the future, Stolberg also hopes Lennon's can give back to the community through fundraising campaigns and hosting events in support of local nonprofits, schools and neighborhood initiatives. 'If people are fortunate enough to be able to come and dine out, I'd like to be able to think that we can give back,' he said. The first floor of Lennon's is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Second floor hours are 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. More hours will be added in the coming weeks for brunch and lunch services.
