However, it has now come to light that WWE is reportedly facing significant hurdles when it comes to securing its location, and the latest updates suggest that the event's future home is still uncertain.
WWE's strategy for selecting the host city for WrestleMania 42 has taken an unexpected turn. The company is currently busy making negotiations to encourage cities to submit more bids for hosting the show.
Earlier, the Showcase of the Immortals was originally scheduled to take place next April at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, but news broke late last week that it would no longer host the event, and a new venue is yet to be announced.
WWE is reportedly pressuring cities into bigger bids to host WrestleMania 42
WWE is reportedly putting pressure on cities to make bigger bids to host WrestleMania 42. The company is using the uncertainty surrounding the event's location as a tactic to prompt cities to increase their bids. By doing this, WWE may be creating a competitive environment where the hosts feel compelled to offer more attractive financial packages to secure the event.
According to
Fightful Select
, 'WrestleMania 42 isn't in New Orleans, and officially doesn't have a home, though it's expected to be Las Vegas once again.'
This comes as a surprise to many that the company is considering Las Vegas again, as Las Vegas was initially viewed as the frontrunner for the 2026 edition of WrestleMania.
Despite the ongoing speculation, WWE is yet to confirm the venue, and sources within the company have remained tight-lipped, without declaring any official word on the matter.
In the meantime, some sources have mentioned the possibility of other cities hosting the event, particularly London. The UK has been a point of discussion for hosting
, but the high cost of hosting the event in London could be a major factor in whether the company moves forward with this option.

Again,
Ringside News
has reported that Saudi Arabia is another possible venue that could be taken into consideration. They stated, 'Saudi Arabia, which has long shown interest in hosting WrestleMania, is another rumored location, but it doesn't seem to be a feasible option in the immediate future. A longtime WWE employee weighed in, stating that if WrestleMania were to be held in Saudi Arabia, it would likely happen in the future, possibly rebranded as 'Super WrestleMania.
'
In reality, the contest to host
is fierce, as it contributes significantly to the country's economy. As WrestleMania 41 was hosted at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in April 2025, a city known for its high-profile events and substantial tourism revenue.

CM Punk Weighs In On Dricus Du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev: 'It'll Look Like...'
Last Updated: Punk discussed the middleweight clash between Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev on August 16 in Chicago. Punk, a Chicago native, may attend with Belal Muhammed. WWE Superstar CM Punk recently weighed in on the much-anticipated middleweight clash between Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev that is set to take place on August 16 at the United Centre in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The UFC returns to the Windy City after a six-year absence, and therefore it is natural of the Chicago-born Punk to have a vested interest in the event. Punk himself has fought for the promotion on two occasions. However, to call his performances lacklustre would be an understatement, as he got utterly dominated and battered by his opponents. Regardless, his celebrity status as one of the biggest names to cross-over, alongside Brock Lesnar, who enjoyed much greater success inside the octagon, is undisputed. He has also stated that he might even make an appearance at the pay-per-view. 'I'm very excited, I'm probably ultimately going to be very disappointed too because I don't know if I can go to the show, I've got to look at my calendar," Punk told Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen on the recent episode of their collaborative show, Good Guy/Bad Guy. Dissecting the fight, he remarked, 'That's going to be a wild main event, man. That's going to be (wild). It's so hard to bet against Chimaev, you know, especially after what he did to (Robert) Whittaker but I think Dricus is really really smart, probably smarter than a lot of people give him credit for. 'He knows what his game plan is going to be, he knows Chimaev is gonna come and try to dive on an ankle right out of the gate so I'm sure he's doing his preparation, that's what's going to make this so fascinating. 'I don't know if I see this making five rounds and if it does, we're probably gonna have two very tired fighters and it'll look like Derrick Lewis vs (Francis) Ngannou," Punk said. CM Punk With Belal Muhammed? Punk, continuing on the podcast stated that he might make his appearance, sharing the spotlight with the former UFC welterweight champion, Belal Muhammed. 'Brother, I'm so busy, like it's absolutely insane. I know we're in Europe for a big chunk of August but I don't think it's until the last week of August so I've got to double check. Hopefully I'll be there, I'm gonna sit next to my bud Belal," Punk added. view comments First Published: August 02, 2025, 10:09 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. John Cena announces grand return to the good side after shocking heel-turn, drinks beer with Cody Rhodes: ‘Mark you calendars, the champ is here'
With Summerslam right around the corner, WWE's most decorated champion is finally embracing his former self. John Cena took the stage in front of a packed-out Newark crowd, and no one expected to hear what he said over the next 12 minutes. The 17-time world champion took the mic and broke character, as he apologised for his actions since Elimination Chamber and admitted that he made a mistake. The segment left his opponent at Summerslam, Cody Rhodes, absolutely stunned, and the crowd that had been booing Cena for the past six months suddenly turned back to support their champion. Cena walked out in an olive green outfit, something that was a staple for him during the early days of his career. He still wore his trademark poker face, and before he could say his piece, Rhodes's entrance music hit, and he made his way into the ring. The millions watching at home expected another 'I am the greatest of all time, bow before me' segment from Cena, and they got that, but in a way they did not expect. When Rhodes attacked him and forced him to agree to the match at Summerslam, instead of cursing him out, Cena thanked him. That was exactly the boot in the back that I needed. For 25 years, day in and day out, I have forged a reputation out of hard work, honesty, and respect. I now realise that five months ago I flushed it all down the toilet chasing false glory and some crazy idea to make shocking TV. It was shocking, but everyone on my team left. I want to take this championship with me when I am done, and I don't want to do that because I want to ruin wrestling. I want to do that so you guys (audience) don't forget me.' Cena continued to apologise to his fans, and as the segment went on, the tone of the superstar suddenly started changing. For the first time in five months, Cena wasn't sounding like he was talking down to someone; his voice strengthened, and he started addressing the crowd directly, just like in the old days. He said, 'All of you tried to tell me, but I didn't listen. You (Cody) forced me into a fight, something that is going to be brutal, something that is going to force me to dig down and be who I am. If I don't show up for war, I shouldn't show up at all. Mark your calendar for August 1, Newark, New Jersey, the day that John Cena came back to the WWE.' The crowd chanted Cena's name as he screamed out, 'The champ is here.' Cody then welcomed him back as Cena and Rhodes shared a beer and waved to the crowd.
