Popular media portrays Devrishi Narad as a meddlesome trickster rather than a great spiritual master . We often hold incomplete information about our scriptures simply because we do not read and understand them. Our little knowledge is often shaped by what we see in films or TV serials. People tend to believe these dramatised portrayals as ultimate truth. However, such views are not only baseless but also disrespectful.Devrishi Narad is Brahma's manasputra, born from Brahma's mind and an unparalleled devotee of Vishnu. He is one of the earliest teachers of astrology and a maestro of divine music. Narad, as one of Vishnu's most beloved devotees, chants 'Om Namo Narayana' with every breath. The celestial raag and ragini that form the foundation of musical tonality owe their origin to his veena's melodies.Attributed to Devrishi Narad, Narad Bhakti Sutras define bhakti as pure, selfless love for the Divine, independent of caste, status or intellectual ability. The Bhakti Sutras emphasise that true devotion is free from selfish desires and ego, focusing on God's love. Bhakti is presented as a natural and accessible path to moksh, for eternal bliss and unity with the Divine. The Sutras also emphasise humility, compassion and surrender, while warning against material attachments and intellectual pride - obstacles to true devotion. Ultimately, they offer a timeless and inclusive path to evolution, underscoring that anyone with a sincere heart can experience the transformative power of love. Narad Jayanti is on May 13

Trump administration appeals to Supreme Court to allow $783 million research-funding cuts

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court on Thursday to allow it to cut hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of research funding in its push to roll back federal diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. The Justice Department argued a federal judge in Massachusetts was wrong to block the National Institutes of Health from making $783 million worth of cuts to align with President Donald Trump's priorities. U.S. District Judge William Young found that the abrupt cancellations ignored long-held government rules and standards. Young, an appointee of Republican President Ronald Reagan, also said the cuts amounted to 'racial discrimination and discrimination against America's LGBTQ community.' The ruling came in lawsuits filed by 16 attorneys general, public-health advocacy groups and some affected scientists. His decision addressed only a fraction of the hundreds of NIH research projects that have been cut. The Trump administration's appeal also takes aim at nearly two dozen cases over funding. Solicitor General D. John Sauer pointed to a 5-4 decision on the Supreme Court's emergency docket from April that allowed cuts to teacher training programs to go forward. That decisions shows that district judges shouldn't be hearing those cases at all, but rather sending them to federal claims court, he argued. Inter Milan Legend Skeptical Of Lookman Links: ‘Players Who Leave Atalanta Tend To Struggle'

Legendary former Inter Milan captain Beppe Bergomi has doubts about a move for Ademola Lookman as 'players who leave Atalanta tend to struggle.' Bergomi gave his thoughts in an interview with Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino, via FCInterNews. Inter Milan are pushing to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. The Nigerian international is their top target in attack this summer. The Nerazzurri have already made an offer to Atalanta for Lookman. La Dea have rejected the initial bid, which Inter have not yet increased. However, the player himself reportedly wants to join. Bergomi Skeptical Of Inter Lookman Links: 'Players Who Leave Atalanta Tend To Struggle' CAGLIARI, ITALY – NOVEMBER 25: Beppe Bergomi looks on during the Serie A match between Cagliari Calcio and FC Internazionale at Stadio Sant'Elia on November 25, 2017 in Cagliari, Italy. (Photo by) If Lookman were to arrive, he would certainly be a big name signing for Inter. The 27-year-old is a well-proven player in Serie A. Therefore, the hope would be that Lookman would be the kind of signing that would instantly bolster the Inter starting eleven. Particularly if the Nerazzurri are to pay a big fee for him. However, former Inter captain Beppe Bergomi isn't so sure. 'Players who leave Atalanta have tended to struggle,' he noted. 'But with that said, he could be a useful player. I hope he ends up in a Nerazzurri shirt.' However, Bergomi also cautioned that 'then you have to change the system of play.' The former Inter captain was certain that 'you can't leave out Lautaro or Thuram.'
