Man arrested after leading police on chase in Craven County
The driver, Shayne Hayes, 39, led officers on a chase into New Bern but the chase was stopped due to Hayes' driving and being a danger to the public, officers said.
Warrants were then taken out for Hayes' arrest on felony fleeing to elude arrest and numerous traffic violations.
Officers went to Hayes' home on Yarmouth Road Saturday, June 7th to serve the warrants and they said Hayes ran away into the neighborhood and hid from them.
He was eventually found and taken into custody. Hayes was also charged with resisting, obstructing and delaying arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hayes was jailed in the Craven County Jail without bond.

Man without a license allegedly steals motorcycle in Nanakuli
Honolulu police arrested a 47-year-old man late Saturday after pulling him over and allegedly discovering he was driving a stolen motorcycle. The man was stopped at about 11 :10 p.m. Saturday night in the Nanakuli area on suspicion of 'excessive speeding ' according to a description of the arrest from the Honolulu Police Department. A check of the motorcycle revealed it was stolen. The 47-year-old man was arrested at 11 :22 p.m. in the 92-0200 block of Farrington Highway in Nanakuli. The suspect was booked on suspicion of stealing the motorcycle, speeding and driving without a license. He remains in police custody. His identity was not immediately released.
