Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan Box Office Day 2: Shanaya Kapoor's First Film Struggles, Earns Rs 43 Lakh
Shanaya Kapoor's debut film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan collects Rs 43 lakh on Day 2, taking its total box office earnings in India to Rs 73 lakh. Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan box office collection: Shanaya Kapoor's first big-screen outing Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, co-starring Vikrant Massey, is finding it difficult to connect with audiences. Despite pre-release curiosity, the romantic drama has seen a slow start at the box office. According to trade tracking portal the film collected an estimated Rs 43 lakh (net) on its second day. This comes after a modest opening of Rs 30 lakh on Friday. With that, the total India net collection stands at Rs 73 lakh after two days. The film's overall response remains muted, and it has yet to touch the Rs 1 crore mark. While Saturday showed a slight bump from Day 1, the numbers are still far from promising. Occupancy across theatres remained low. Morning shows recorded just 7.52%, followed by 15.60% in the afternoon. Evening shows saw 14.72%, and night shows performed a little better at 23.14%. The film's overall occupancy in Hindi was around 15.25%. Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, was earlier set to make her debut with Bedhadak, but the project was shelved. Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan marks her official entry into Bollywood, though its box office journey so far has been underwhelming. News18 Showsha gave the film three stars. An excerpt from the review read, 'So, with a decent plot, sincere performances, and a soulful soundtrack by Vishal Mishra, where does Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan falter? In one word: execution. There are so many flaws that you can't overlook them all. Some dialogues had the audience chuckling, for all the wrong reasons. While there were a few hilarious, well-written scenes, the flawed execution has turned this into a half-baked cake: it looks tempting but isn't palatable." Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan tells a story centered on love, emotions, and human connection through its lead characters. The film, directed by Santosh Singh, is based on Ruskin Bond's short story The Eyes Have It. It follows the romantic journey of a visually impaired musician and a theatre artist. Produced by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla, the film was released on Friday. First Published: July 13, 2025, 08:22 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. ‘Hindi is not easy': American woman's fluent Hindi stuns internet, shares tips for mastering the language
An American content creator living in India has gone viral for her impressive command of Hindi, and the internet can't get enough. Kristen Fischer, who has spent the last four years in India, recently posted a video on Instagram that's grabbing attention not just for her fluency, but also for her practical tips on how others can learn the language too. In the clip, which has already crossed 78,000 views, Fischer speaks fluent Hindi and wrote in the caption, 'Hindi is not an easy language to learn. It takes time and effort.' She then shares four key strategies that helped her over the years. She emphasises grammar as the most challenging and essential part of learning the language. 'Find a good grammar coach, book, or resource. It makes all the difference,' she says. Fischer credits her success to online classes and the GPA (Growing Participator Approach) method, calling it the 'fastest and most effective way to learn any language.' Another tip? Complete immersion. 'Spend time with a native speaker who doesn't know English. That way, you'll be forced to speak Hindi in real situations,' she advises. While she now speaks the language with ease, Fischer reminds learners that it's a slow process. 'Hindi takes at least 2–3 years to get comfortable with. I studied for five years before I felt confident. Just keep going and don't give up.' The video has struck a chord with many viewers, with social media users praising her dedication and encouraging others to follow her lead. A user wrote, 'Wow Kristen, your Hindi is amazing! Great going.' Another user asked, 'I am amazed at your fluency and the diction. Fab job. What is GPA method?' 'In a world too often divided by differences, your embrace of Hindi is truly admirable. It is a powerful gesture that transcends boundaries and connects hearts. Wishing you continued success and discovery on this beautiful linguistic journey,' the third user wrote on Instagram.

'Lasted 7 Minutes': Internet Goes Berserk As India & England Players Clash At Lord's
Indian and English players clashed during Day 3's final over at Lord's. Shubman Gill and Zak Crawley exchanged words before umpires intervened to prevent escalation. The internet was in splits as well as in debate as sparks flew between the Indian and the English players during the final over of Day 3 at Lord's, as some words were exchanged with India blaming the hosts of deliberately wasting time and ensuring that a second over isn't bowled in their second innings. In the last five minutes on Day 3, there was enough drama with India skipper Shubman Gill and Zak Crawley engaged in a confrontation, which could have turned uglier after the former, in some choicest language, requested Crawley to show some guts while facing ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah. 'I've been moaning about slow play, so it feels strange to me that my favourite over of the series, the final one of the day, lasted 7 minutes 😂," former England pacer Stuart Broad tweeted in the wee hours of Sunday, July 13. Phenomenal. Loved the drama," Dinesh Karthik tweeted. Memes flooded the internet, with several fans saying that Gill reminded them of ace batter Virat Kohli's aggression against opposition teams.
