His message has inspired respect and admiration across all faiths. We pray for his continued good health and long life," he posted on X.

, prominent Indian leaders, including BJP leader Vijay Jolly and JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, attended a celebratory event in Dharamshala to honour the revered figure.
The 14th Dalai Lama, known to the Tibetan people as Gyalwa Rinpoche, is the current Dalai Lama, also the highest spiritual leader and head of Tibet.
The 14th Dalai Lama was born on July 6, 1935, in the small farming village of Takster, northeastern Tibet. At the age of two, the boy Lhamo Dhondup was recognised as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama. In October 1939, he was brought to Lhasa and formally installed as the head of the state of Tibet on February 22, 1940.
Boy Lhamo Dhondup was later named Tenzin Gyatso, and his monastic education was started at the age of six.
Dalai Lama is a Mongolian term that means "Ocean of Wisdom'', and the Dalai Lamas are the manifestations of the
Bodhisattva
of compassion. Bodhisattvas are enlightened beings who have postponed their own enlightenment and chosen to take rebirth to serve, according to Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
The Dalai Lama assumed full political powers in 1950, after the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1949. In March 1959, after the suppression of the
Tibetan National Uprising
, the Dalai Lama was forced to escape into exile in India with over eighty thousand refugees. For over six decades, the Dalai Lama has been working for the promotion of peace, love, and compassion.

He noted that this very dream of equality, national integration, and constitutional unity was realised under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, with the abrogation of Article 370 and the full integration of Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Union. Recalling the pivotal role of Mookerjee in the Constituent Assembly, the Governor said that he persistently advocated for minority rights and the preservation of regional languages to ensure a Constitution acceptable and applicable to all communities. In Imphal, Manipur Governor Bhalla, on the occasion, described Mookerjee as a towering figure in the history of modern India, a distinguished patriot, freedom fighter, visionary leader, and an intellectual of remarkable stature. Ponnam writes to BJP state president asking Centre's contribution to Telangana
HYDERABAD Making light of the BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao's letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy seeking implementation of all the poll promises, Minister for BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar asked him to explain the BJP's contribution to Telangana in the last 11 years. 'People who could not secure a few rupees to Telangana are advising us in governance,' the Minister said in an open letter to Mr. Ramchander Rao. 'Isn't it strange that you are writing letters to us when you cannot ensure justice from the Centre?' he asked. Mr. Prabhakar described Mr. Ramchander Rao's letter as 'laughable' and said those giving sermons should introspect the failures in their governance. 'From farmers to youth, women to backward communities, every section of society has been deceived,' he said in the letter, calling the BJP's unfulfilled promises a 'Ramayana of failures'. Citing the BJP's 2019 election manifesto, the Minister pointed out that the promised monthly pensions to small and marginal farmers above 60 years had not been implemented. He also questioned the unfulfilled assurance of increasing the Kisan Samman Nidhi amount and reminded the BJP of its failure to generate the 2 crore jobs annually as promised in 2014. 'You came to power shedding tears over price hikes. BJP government eroding autonomy of Assam tribal councils, says Gaurav Gogoi
GUWAHATI Assam Congress president and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi on Saturday (July 5, 2025) alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in Assam was systematically eroding the autonomy of the tribal councils functioning under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. He held Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma primarily responsible for 'undermining the spirit' of these autonomous councils, rather than upholding their constitutional mandate. 'Power was decentralised to the BTC, KAAC, and NCHAC during the 15-year tenure of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, as the Sixth Schedule was intended to ensure administrative and financial autonomy for these regions,' Mr. Gogoi told journalists in Diphu, the headquarters of Karbi Anglong district. 'The people of these regions should have the authority to make decisions regarding their development. Authority should not be confined to Delhi or Dispur (the State capital); it must extend to the councils,' he said.
