Who is the Rams' most exciting UDFA addition?
The Los Angeles Rams signed a bevy of undrafted free agents following the 2025 NFL Draft to round out their roster heading into summer workouts. These are players who, for whatever reason, weren't considered draftable prospects by any of the franchises.
However, that doesn't mean they aren't exciting players. The Rams have had a lot of success in recent years with undrafted players, too, which players like starting left tackle Alaric Jackson and starting inside linebacker Omar Speights.
One of the Rams' newest additions could hit, and Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski predicts linebacker Shaun Dolac is L.A.'s "most exciting" UDFA heading into the summer.
"The Los Angeles Rams failed to draft a linebacker until choosing Ole Miss' Pooh Paul Jr. in this year's fifth round," Sobleski wrote. "Considering the state of the position, the undrafted Shaun Dolac may have as much of a chance to make their roster and possibly contribute as Paul does.
"'Tackling machine can be an overused phrase when it comes to describing linebackers. When discussing Dolac, it's appropriate. The Buffalo product finished first or second in total tackles during the 2022 and 2024 campaigns. Between the two seasons, he amassed 315 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 12 defended passes and five interceptions. He then suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in 2023.
"Clearly, instincts and production are not a problem. The reigning MAC Defensive Player of the Year and consensus All-American is undersized at 6'0" and 221 pounds. However, he has the athletic traits to remain productive as part of the Rams roster."
Dolac has the experience, production and skillset to earn a role on Chris Shula's defense. He may not be an immediate impact starter, but he should compete with the other backups like Paul, Tony Fields II and Elias Neal. Troy Reeder is pretty injury-prone, too, so there could be ample opportunities to see snaps if Dolac makes a good impression during training camp.

Kelly Stafford's Mom Used to Tell Her Sex Ed Students About Her Daughter's Period

Kelly Stafford's menstrual cycle was a hot topic for middle schoolers in Georgia, all thanks to Kelly's own mother. Leslie Hall, Stafford's mom, was a physical education teacher whose duties included guiding her students through sex ed curriculum. 'She would talk to her middle schoolers about [her] daughters, Jenny and I, about our periods,' Stafford, 36, said on the Thursday, July 24, episode of her 'The Morning After' podcast. 'Guys, I was in middle school. On days that we had off — because I was a going to private school and she taught at public school — I would come to her school and people would be like, 'We heard about you in our sex ed class, how's your period?'' Stafford, who is the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, said her mom would tell her students, 'Kelly just developed way earlier than [her sister] Jenny.' Kelly Stafford Breaks Silence Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against Podcast Cohost 'I've never f***ing developed, mom!' Kelly recalled saying. 'What are you talking about?' Even now, Kelly said stories from those middle school days still come back to haunt her. 'There's still people that come up to me to this day and are like, 'Your mom was my sex ed teacher,'' she explained. 'I'm like, 'Did you hear about my period?' They're like, 'Sure did.'' Kelly added, 'You gotta love her, though. You gotta love her.' Despite that, Kelly insisted she won't be following her mother's blueprint when it comes to her own parenting style. 'When my kids actually start their periods, we will not be talking about it,' Kelly said. 'But you will probably know … I'll probably have bags [under my eyes], I'll probably be a disaster. I don't know how I'm going to do it. I'm already struggling now and they haven't even started.' Kelly and Matthew share four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 5. The podcast host candidly admitted that she hasn't been feeling like the best mom lately because her daughters 'have no f***ing idea how to use money.' Kelly Stafford Is 'Losing Patience' With 4-Year-Old Daughter: 'She Just Doesn't Shut Up' 'Listen, not good. Not good parenting,' Kelly said. 'S***ty parenting job by me. That's on me.' Kelly also said her daughters' inability to tie their soccer cleats recently left her perplexed. 'We have come to the realization, and I'm sure there's parents like this, that when you have so many [kids] close together or you have so many kids, you don't have time for them to figure s*** out,' she said. 'You're trying to get out the door. We were like, 'Hey girls, get your cleats on for soccer.' This is soccer camp two weeks ago. They put them on and looked at us with untied shoes.' Kelly continued, 'I'm like, 'What are you doing?' They're like, 'Will you tie them?' I'm like, 'You're eight years old, why can't you tie them?' They're like, 'We don't really know how to tie cleats.' I said, 'It's the same f***ing thing as tennis shoes, what are you talking about?'' Solve the daily Crossword

Rams LB Jared Verse provides hilarious account of the torture chamber that is an Aaron Donald workout session

Aaron Donald has been retired for more than a year now but he's still torturing NFL players. They just happen to be the ones he likes now. We heard last month about Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse accepting Donald's challenge to go through an "old man workout" at his home. After hanging up his cleats last offseason, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year appears to remain very much in game shape and publicly offered to show the 24-year-old Verse his regimen. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] We got some fun social media video from the workout in which Donald appeared to be enjoying himself, while Verse appeared ready to admit he had made a huge mistake. As it turns out, Verse was having an even worse time than the video showed. Speaking with reporters on Thursday at training camp, the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year provided an account of what exactly goes into an Aaron Donald workout: "We do four workouts, it's all cardio. VersaClimber, bike, lunges and core. Four rounds each. You do that, you're already tired. Then you do four sets of core, two different workouts so it's like eight different workouts, four sets each. We do all that and he's like 'Are you ready for the real workout?' "I'm like 'Bro, I've been here for 45 minutes, what are you talking about?' We go to the weight room, it's all arms. That's why he's big as hell. It's like eight different circuits, four sets each, I'm there for an hour and a half." Things got pretty dire for Verse, whose potential escape plans didn't work out. The experience left him unable to move his body and joking (we think) about staying far away from the future Hall of Famer: "His wife came in laughing at me, I told her to call the police. I'm not even joking, I'm dead serious. I told her to call the police. She wouldn't do it. I tried to lie and say my mom was at my house and I had to go let her in. He told me to give my keys to his manager or assistant or something and they would go let my mom in. So I wasn't leaving. "Finished the workout. I'm dead tired, I'm exhausted. I had a plan to go jump in the sauna afterwards, didn't happen. Had plans to watch film, didn't happen. Went home and I didn't work out for another day and a half because I couldn't move my body ... He needs to stay away from me and if security sees him on the property they need to take care of him.' Speaking more seriously, Verse acknowledged the intensity of the workouts taught him a lesson he has started applying to his own routine: "No doubt about it, that workout was psychotic. I'm never doing that again. He did change my workout routine, though ... It was definitely the mindset that you got to keep going. "The one thing he kept saying throughout the whole workout, and he doesn't really show too much in the video, 'Think of the fourth quarter.' Everyone's good the first and the second, third, but what about the fourth? That's where you make your money." Verse was the 19th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft and was a standout as a rookie, posting 66 combined tackles, 18 QB hits, 11 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks for a Rams defense that needed all the help it could get after losing Donald to retirement. That effort earned Verse both the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, which Donald won in 2014, and his first career Pro Bowl honors. Donald, meanwhile, finished up a career in 2023 that saw him make the Pro Bowl in all 10 seasons of his career, first-team All-Pro honors in eight of them, three Defensive Player of the Year awards and a Super Bowl ring.

A $100-million payday? Puka Nacua knows a strong 2025 could reap big rewards

Puka Nacua saw the numbers. So, no doubt, did Rams general manager Les Snead, and vice president Tony Pastoors, the team's senior executive in charge of negotiating contracts. When Garrett Wilson of the New York Jets this month signed a four-year extension that includes $90 million in guarantees, he became the latest young NFL receiver star to cash in before playing out his rookie contract. Nacua is in the third year of his rookie deal with the Rams. He will be eligible for an extension in the offseason. Read more: Rams open training camp: Analyzing their biggest concerns 'I try to do my best to stay completely present where my feet are,' Nacua said this week after the Rams' first practice, noting that he played in a high school All-Star game with Wilson. 'It's exciting to see guys, to push the envelope for the wide receiver game.' Nacua, a fifth-round draft pick in 2023, will earn just over $1 million this season, according to For the Rams, it ranks as one of the NFL's best bargains. Nacua, 24, became a breakout star in his first season, establishing several NFL rookie receiving records and making the Pro Bowl. Last season, despite sitting out five games because of a knee injury that he sustained during a preseason workout against the Chargers and then aggravated in the opener against the Detroit Lions, he caught 79 passes for 990 yards and three touchdowns. With Nacua ascending into the No. 1 receiver, the Rams moved on from veteran Cooper Kupp and signed three-time All-Pro Davante Adams. Quarterback Matthew Stafford will be sidelined through at least the first week of training camp because of back soreness. But on Wednesday, while working with veteran backup Jimmy Garoppolo, Nacua and Adams showed flashes of the excitement they are expected to generate for a team that will be regarded as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. During their brief time as teammates, Nacua said he has learned about body control, elusiveness, on-field awareness and how to maximize route-running leverage from Adams. 'He explains it so well in the meeting room,' Nacua said, 'so it makes it fun to watch tape and to be like, 'OK, how can I add some of these things to my toolbox?'' Adams' 'illusion of speed and lateral quickness' stand out, Nacua said. 'I wouldn't say there's a lot of people that can replicate some of the things that he can do,' Nacua said, 'but trying to understand the movement so I can add it to my game.' Nacua and Adams are the stars of a Rams receiving corps that also includes speedy Tutu Atwell, who is playing on a one-year $10-million contract, and second-year pro Jordan Whittington. As Nacua navigates his third training camp, he said he would be focused on improving his 'pre-practice preparation' as the Rams get ready for their Sept. 7 opener against the Houston Texans. 'I feel like I could wake up out of bed and get ready to roll and have no warmups,' Nacua said of his first two camps. 'I maybe didn't run as fast as Tutu when I woke up out of bed, but I feel like I could get out and just be ready to go. So … pre-practice preparation, so when I hit down the field, I know I can start rolling as soon as we get out here.' The Rams are currently in negotiations with running back Kyren Williams about a possible extension. But that deal, if it gets done, will not compare with those looming in 2026 and beyond. Read more: Matthew Stafford dealing with back soreness, will be limited at start of Rams training camp If Nacua remains injury free and he maintains or increases his production, he could have a potential megadeal in hand before 2026 training camp. Defensive lineman Kobie Turner also will be eligible for an extension. Edge rusher Jared Verse is another young star on track for a potential massive payday after the 2026 season. Nacua is not looking too far ahead as he gets his mind and body ready for the upcoming season. 'This will probably be the best that I feel for the rest of the year,' he joked. 'I enjoy these moments because they won't last too long, but I feel fantastic right now. 'Ready to roll.' Etc. Stafford was not on the field Wednesday. The 16-year veteran was working with trainers in other areas, McVay said. Stafford is not expected to practice until next week. 'I think that's the best thing in terms of being able to strengthen, be as strong, sturdy and feel as good as he can go,' McVay said of Stafford working away from on-field activities, 'As good as he can be for the time that we get him back out here on Monday." ... Former Rams center Brian Allen is attending camp and helping with the offensive line. ... The Rams are scheduled to hold a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 5 in Oxnard.
