2 men sentenced to prison for breaking into boss' Cherokee County house
A pair of men from Cherokee County are heading to prison after being convicted of breaking into a home and stealing guns and landscaping equipment.
District Attorney Susan K. Treadaway said Ewell Randolph Bush Jr., 37, and William Shane Morgan, 36, were found guilty of burglary last month.

Bush was sentenced to 20 years with the first 12 to serve in prison. Morgan was sentenced to 20 years with the first 15 to serve in prison.
Treadaway says that because they are repeat offenders, they will have to serve the full sentence.
Prosecutors say that in August 2023, Bush and Morgan broke into a home on Shoal Creek Road and stole a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver, Smith & Wesson AR-15 rifle, a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol, ammunition, six watches, a safe containing $8,000 in cash and landscaping equipment.

Investigators say the homeowner had previously given Morgan a job and let him live in the home.
'One of the most shocking elements of this case is that the defendants repaid kindness with the ultimate betrayal, breaking into an acquaintance's home to steal his possessions,' said Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Damion Overstreet, of the Gang and Organized Crime Unit, who prosecuted this case on behalf of the State. 'These criminals exploited someone's generosity, then afterwards showed no remorse for their actions.'

Whether Dobbins was sitting up on her own accord or with the help of bystanders is unclear, but the 77-year-old woman later died at a local hospital from her injuries. Smith, 24, who rose to fame for his 2022 hit 'I Hate Alabama,' stayed at the scene of the accident, according to police. 3 Smith had failed to yield to Dorothy Dobbins, 77, on the marked crosswalk, cops said. WSMV Cops alleged that the singer failed to yield to Dobbins on the marked crosswalk, but showed no signs of impairment or that he was using his cellphone. No charges have been filed in the case. 'On June 8th, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life. His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins' family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation,' his attorney, Worrick G. Robinson, told TMZ. Deacon reveals moments split-second decision to run over Michigan church gunman with pickup truck
A Michigan deacon who ran over a heavily armed gunman outside a suburban church said he felt an unshakeable divine calling to act before the shooter could enter and attack congregants. Richard Pryor, a deacon at CrossPointe Community Church in Wayne, was the first person to confront 31-year-old Brian Anthony Browning when he arrived at the church Sunday morning with multiple weapons, tactical gear, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. 'As soon as he got out of the vehicle, I saw the fatigues, I saw the gun on his hip, and he pulled his gun out of the vehicle,' Pryor told 7 News Detroit. Atlanta NBA, WNBA reporter Tabitha Turner allegedly pepper-sprayed, assaulted by Uber driver on side of highway
An Atlanta-based NBA and WNBA reporter claims she was pepper-sprayed and physically assaulted by an Uber driver during a violent altercation on the side of the highway, and is now facing online threats because of the incident. Tabitha Turner, the team reporter for the Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Dream, was picked up from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Saturday by driver Nicole Smith. 'I just wanted to go home from work and see my daughter. I've got threats,' Turner told reporters Wednesday at a press conference. Tabitha Turner/Instagram Turner says she had ordered an Uber Comfort, which allows passengers to choose the type of experience for their drive, including the desired interior temperature. Turner and her attorney claim she had selected to have a 'cool' ride with the windows up and air conditioning on. 'One thing that she noticed when her Uber pulled up, right off the rip, was that this clearly wasn't a comfort vehicle,' Turner's lawyer, Miguel Dominquez, told reporters. 'She was a little thrown off giving what she inputted into the app, that there was no air conditioning on and the windows were down and we've got 90-degree plus weather out there,' he added. As Smith drove northbound on I-85, Turner asked the driver to roll the windows up and turn on the A/C to match what she requested, Dominquez said. The quick-thinking reporter pulled out her phone and began recording the roadside interaction with Smith, telling the irritated driver she wouldn't get out of the car unless Smith refunded the fare or police were called. Smith turned around and pepper-sprayed her passenger in the face, according to video captured by Turner and obtained by the outlet. Investigators, using both Turner's and the witness's footage, determined Smith was the aggressor. An arrest warrant was issued for Smith. She faces charges of battery and simple battery. 'To pull over on the expressway suddenly, in the emergency lane with vehicles flying by, and to decide you're going to tell the passenger, 'You need to get out with your bags on the side of the expressway,' is not a reasonable request by any stretch of the imagination,' Dominquez said. Turner asserts Smith began harassing her on social media after the altercation, claiming the reporter was at fault for the highway beatdown. 'I've received threats via social media about my karma that's coming to me,' Turner said, fighting back tears. 'Defaming my character, calling me all kinds of names. 'I have a 1-year-old daughter that I like to take to the games with me and I can't take her because I don't know who's going to be there to attack me,' Turner said. The reporter thanked the WNBA's Dream for providing additional security for her. Dominquez says it was an isolated event, but believes he might find a pattern when he starts looking into the process on how Uber drivers are selected. 'What we may find is that there is a pattern here of charging customers an elevated amount for a particular type of ride, and actually not being able to fulfill that ride that's being purchased,' Dominquez said. The Post has reached out to Uber for comment.
