THE best airlines in the world have been revealed for 2025 - and Qatar Airways has come out on top again.
It is the ninth time it has been named the best in more than 25 years of the annual Skytrax Awards.

Not only that, but it was also named the Best Airlines in the Middle East - and having the best business class in the world.
Qatar Airways' CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said: "To retain this title in a highly competitive and ever-evolving global industry reflects the relentless efforts across every part of the business, from the frontline to behind the scenes, the passion and commitment of our people continue to set new standards in aviation.'
And we have been lucky enough to fly with them when travelling to Sri Lanka, stopping in Doha along the way - testing out both their business and economy classes.
I tried out their the airline's Qsuite, the leader when it came to business class seats, being one of the first to have a sliding door (introduced in 2016).

I've always been a budget traveller, never understanding why someone would fork out money to get from A to B.
But, three years after flying with Qatar Airways, it is still something I talk about to friends.
It feels like a hotel room in the sky (so much so that it became a highlight of my trip - perhaps even more than some parts of the holiday itself).
While you would expect all business class seats to be amazing, I can say that they are not all made the same (with two airlines I won't name barely being better than premium economy...)
Staff are extremely friendly, their non-alcoholic lemon and mint mocktail has a huge following online for being so delicious and I had enough movie choices to keep me busy the entire flight.
While business class is never affordable, the route from London Heathrow to Doha is an option for a special occasion spend.

Tickets can be found for around £1,800, which will be in the special Qsuite.
It is certainly a great way to end a bucket list holiday.
Perhaps controversially, the airline doesn't have a premium economy, only offering First, Business and Economy.
But it's not just their business class that was amazing - the Sun's Assistant Travel Editor Sophie Swietochowski also tried out the airline's economy cabin.
She said: "Economy seats in Qatar Airways' newer aircrafts feel much roomier than those on other airlines I've travelled with.
"The design is sleek and stylish and there are conveniently-placed USB ports for charging your devices, but that's not what makes the carrier standout.
"For me, the highlight of flying Qatar Airways is the service.
"As with most Middle Eastern airlines, customer care is a step above the rest.
"Staff are diligent and eager to please, ensuring that you're well looked after and refreshed throughout the journey.
"All in all it makes for a more comfortable experience."
Flights in economy are much cheaper, thankfully, with routes from London to Doha from £474 return.

The high-street giant has announced it's making its clothing more inclusive, specifically for children who struggle with sensory issues. In a move to increase comfort, Primark is removing neck labels from its core kids' clothing and nightwear. It earned a spot in the 2025 awards for the second year running after impressing with its "inspiring" showcase of Scottish history. The accolade places it in the top 10 per cent of listings globally that consistently earn positive reviews. Alexander McCall Smith first had the idea for The Great Tapestry of Scotland, which is a 143m-long work of art. It is currently the longest embroidered tapestry in the world, and was created by 1,000 volunteers over 50,000 hours. The tapestry tells the true story of Scotland's history, heritage, and culture from 8500BC to the present day, depicting key events that span back 12,000 years. This is testament to the passion, creativity, and hard work that our small team puts into creating a consistently five-star visitor experience Sandy Maxwell-Forbes It brings to life the country's history over 160 panels and is made up of 300 miles of wool. It is now displayed in the visitor centre on Galashiels' High Street, which opened in 2021. As an embroiderer, I was excited, impressed and inspired by the work. I was overwhelmed by the size of the tapestry and the incredible history that was revealed in the stitches and the text beneath each piece." Top attractions for children in Scotland THE Great Tapestry of Scotland isn't the only attraction to have been named among the best in recent weeks. We recently revealed that Dynamic Earth, in Edinburgh, has been named the best children's attraction in Scotland. The world-class Science Centre and Planetarium takes visitors on a journey through space and time to reveal how planet Earth came to be. And Experts at ranked it the best place for families to visit that combined education with excitement. They said: "Take a journey through time at this immersive science centre. "Kids can explore Earth's past, present, and future — complete with a tropical rainforest, an icy glacier, and even a simulated space launch. "It's hands-on, interactive, and perfect for curious minds aged four and up." Other places mentioned in the rankings were Highland Wildlife Park, in Kingussie; The Kelpies, in Falkirk; and Camera Obscura and World of Illusions, in Edinburgh. Someone else wrote: "Simply can't describe how fantastic this was. The art, the craftsmanship, the skill! I will recommend this to everyone". While a fourth posted: "I visited the Great Tapestry of Scotland and was absolutely blown away by the amazing and intricate stitching!" And a fifth chimed in: "I can not praise the tapestry enough. The history of Scotland is beautifully depicted (and I'm English), events that I knew nothing of brought to life. The artistry, the stitching, the magic is wondrous. I wish we could have stayed longer." Mags Fenner, project manager BID for Galashiels, the town's business improvement district, told The National: 'This world-class attraction puts [[Galashiels]] on the map as a cultural destination and draws visitors from near and far. 'Local shops, cafés and restaurants have felt the benefit of increased footfall, with many visitors choosing to explore and support our high street after experiencing the tapestry. 'It's also been inspiring to see school children from across the region engage with the tapestry as a rich and accessible way to learn about Scottish and Borders history and culture. 'We're proud to have such a globally recognised centre at the heart of Galashiels."

An amber weather warning has been slapped across the majority of the country between 10am and 10pm today. It's the second-highest warning possible, made more dangerous by the fact that trees are still in leaf and more liable to collapse. Ferry company Cal Mac has warned that delays and cancellations are likely on west coast routes from Mallaig and Oban. It is the first named storm since January, when Storm Eowyn caused widespread destruction. Upgrading the incoming tempest from yellow 'be aware' to amber 'be prepared' the Met Office warned: 'Storm Floris will bring a spell of unusually strong west or northwesterly winds to much of Scotland during Monday. 'Gusts of 50 to 70 mph are expected for many parts, and are likely to reach 80 to 90 mph on some exposed coasts, hills and bridges. 'Western coastal areas will see the highest gusts between late morning and early afternoon, the strongest winds then transferring to northeastern Scotland by late afternoon/early evening.' It's possible more traffic could be on the road today as it's the late summer Bank Holiday north of the border. Storm Floris has been tracked all the way from the eastern seaboard of the United States, rapidly deepening as it approaches the west coast of Ireland tonight.
