Soldier Soldier star Marise Wipani dies on her 61st birthday

Marise Wipani, who starred in the 90s drama Soldier Soldier and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, has died.
The actress died on Friday, which was her 61st birthday, it has been confirmed.
'Marise passed peacefully today on her 61st birthday surrounded by family and friends,' a post on her Facebook page read.
'She just wanted to say….I have shuffled off this mortal coil. Good byyye, good luuuck, good God!!! Quote from Driving Miss Daisy.'
Her cause of death has not been revealed.
As well as Soldier Soldier, which ran for 82 episodes from 1991 to 1997, the TV star was known for her appearances in Shortland Street, Xena: Warrior Princess, Street Legal, and Rude Awakenings.
In addition to TV, she appeared in several movies, including Came a Hot Friday (1985), Mark II (1986), Grievous Bodily Harm (1988), Bonjour Timothy (1995), and Channelling Baby (1999). More Trending
Wipani was also a runner-up in the Miss New Zealand contest in the 80s, having been scouted at a photography studio and invited to join.
Then, in 1987, she became one of the first presenters of the live televised draw for Lotto New Zealand.
In her later years, after retreating from larger roles, she appeared in smaller-scale productions.
She also had an ordinary job in a café in the 2010s and was 'living modestly'.

However, this week Tyler revealed that after getting frustrated by an aunt expecting handouts from him, he attempted to give her a job so she could earn her own money too. Speaking on a recent episode of the YouTube series Den of Kings, Tyler told host host Kirk Franklin and fellow guests Derrick Hayes and Jay 'Jeezy' Jenkins a recent experience after he hired an aunt to work for him. 'She said she wanted a job. She would always call asking for money. I said, 'Okay'. I would send her the money,' he said. 'But then I was like, 'Listen, I want to help you. I want to help you build this thing, not be welfare to you. So, let me give you a job'.' However, after she didn't bother turning up, he had to fire her. 'So, I'm like, 'Okay, well you gotta go'. You want me to hand you the money, but you don't want to work for it. See, that doesn't work for me.' In the interview Tyler also explained how that after his mum died in 2009, he sent letters to several family members telling them they needed to get a job within 60 days as he would no longer be financially supporting them. More Trending Although the hosts were shocked, he replied: 'They all got jobs.' Tyler went on to share that he also expects strong work ethic from his 10-year-old son Aman too. 'There are certain things that he wants. He has to do chores and work for it. I don't believe in just giving us things that are just going to handicap us. Emmerdale favourite Beth Cordingly has opened up to her fans about a difficult day. The actress, 48, is best known to ITV soap viewers as Ruby Miligan, and regularly shares positive, cheery updates from her private life with partner Ian Kelsey. Beth has in a relationship with the former Emmerdale star – who rose to fame as Kim Tate's former flame Dave Glover – for four years. However, in her latest video, she wanted to reassure her followers that they're 'not alone' after 'she 'cried [her] eyes out' for 'probably five hours'. British rock band cancels tour dates after 'catastrophic event' at member's home

The British punk rock group, The Damned, announced that they will have to cancel their tour after a 'catestrophic event'. The group announced on social media that they had been forced to cancel some tour dates in their North American leg of their tour, due to an unspoken catastrophe. The band shared a note on their social media, cancelling dates which were set to take place over the weekend. 'We are very sorry to have to cancel our Seattle, Portland and Vancouver shows this weekend, due to an unexpected and catastrophic event at a member of The Damned's home,' it read. 'We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Refunds will be available for our two headline shows at your point of purchase.' The wording of the announcement has confused and scared fans who have expressed concern for the rock group. The Damned is a rock group first formed in the 1970s and made up of five musicians.
