Egyptian youth defender Ismail proud after signing first professional deal with Arsenal - Talents Abroad
Egyptian youth fullback Cam'ron Ismail said he was proud to sign his first professional contract with Arsenal, describing the moment as a long-standing dream come true. The 18-year-old full back, born and raised in London, has progressed through Arsenal's academy since 2021 and has been called up to Egypt's under-20 squad, though he has yet to make a competitive appearance. "I think it's an important day," Ismail told Arsenal's website on Monday. "A day that's been in my mind for quite a long time. "I think it's a proud moment for me and it's something that I've been dreaming of. It's a big moment and I'm happy to be here. "I've always been an Arsenal fan. Being from Islington and living so close to the stadium, you're always seeing Arsenal fans, hearing the theme song. It's a big thing to support the club and now to play for it. "I'm very proud to do so, and every day I come in and give my all.' Ismail featured primarily for Arsenal's under-18 side last season, making 16 appearances in the U18 Premier League, and also appeared several times for the under-21s in Premier League 2.
