Justin Timberlake fans gutted after Isle of Wight set 'not allowed' on TV
The American popstar, 44, has four UK number one singles to his name and was one of the biggest names who headlined the festival in 2025.
He was joined at the top of the bill over the weekend by the likes of legendary Police frontman Sting and Welsh chart-topping band Stereophonics.
Fans who hadn't been able to see the Rock Your Body hitmaker in person had hoped to catch coverage of his set on Sky Arts, which now has a partnership with the festival.
But they were made to go without on Sunday night when it was confirmed live on air that Sky Arts wouldn't be able to broadcast Justin's set from Seaclose Park.
Edith Bowman, hosting Sky's TV coverage from the festival, let fans and viewers know that the channel wasn't allowed to broadcast any footage from Justin's set.
While an official statement wasn't read out on air, users on social media and dedicated TV forums speculated as to the reasons why the SexyBack singer's set was kept private.
@MissTracey_Dav commented on X: 'Edith Bowman has confirmed Sky are not allowed to show the Justin Timberlake set – he'll never get booked for Glastonbury then!'
@DarryBunne said: 'Sky Arts not showing the Justin Timberlake set tonight at the Isle of Wight Festival (through no fault of theirs by all accounts).'
Elsewhere, @TheGlamaMama explained her disappointment: 'Gutted that Sky Arts aren't broadcasting Justin Timberlake. Why?'
On Facebook, Edward Coppock asked: 'Anyone one know why they're not showing the final day Isle of Wight Festival headline act Justin Timberlake on Sky TV on Sky Arts tonight?'
On the Digital Spy forums, user Dodrade asked, 'Are Sky showing Justin Timberlake's set tonight? He isn't listed on the EPG?' to which they were told that the set would not be broadcast.
ManUtdFan17 told Dodrade, 'Nope. Edith just confirmed at start of broadcast,' before speculating whether the decision had been made by Justin's team.
FlakeWhip then expanded the discussion to speculate that 'certain acts insist on not being televised, or having control over what is televised, if they so wish'.
This weekend will see Neil Young headline Glastonbury, with fans of the legendary rock musician unsure whether his set from the Pyramid Stage will go out on the BBC. More Trending
Earlier this year, the 79-year-old music icon surprised everyone by saying he was pulling out of the festival after finding out that the BBC was a 'partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do things in a way we were not interested in'.
However, Neil retracted that statement and said: 'Due to an error in the information received, I had decided to not play the Glastonbury festival, which I always have loved.
'Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there! Love, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts'

Kate Middleton 'mortified' by Tim Henman's Wimbledon encounter with her dad
Avid tennis fan Kate Middleton endured a cringeworthy moment at Wimbledon long before marrying Prince William, after her father's comment to British tennis star Tim Henman Sue Barker's illustrious broadcasting career with the BBC placed her at the heart of all the action for almost three decades. The former French Open champion's iconic role gave her the opportunity to interview a host of big names, from sports stars to members of the royal family. During her work on the 2017 BBC One documentary 'Our Wimbledon', Barker travelled around the world to discover what makes the All England Club grass so special for tennis lovers. That journey resulted in interviews with the Duke of Kent and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, who is a known tennis fan and is often spotted in the SW19 stands with her family. In the latter interview, Princess Kate shared an embarrassing incident from years ago, before she had married Prince William. She revealed how her father, Michael Middleton, once approached British tennis icon Tim Henman, confusing him with 14-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras. Barker recounted the tale in her 2024 book, ' Wimbledon: A Personal History ', which provides her perspective on the major tournament, from her days as a junior competitor to her retirement from broadcasting over half a century later in 2022. The 69-year-old wrote: 'During the filming of my Our Wimbledon documentary, I interviewed both the Duke of Kent and Catherine, now Princess of Wales. 'Catherine was so lovely to talk to too. I waited in a room in Kensington Palace with producer Carl Doran and the camera crew. 'We were all a bit on edge and then in she came and put us all at ease, even saying she was a bit nervous as she hadn't given many interviews. (I'm sure she said that to make me feel better.) 'She was a natural in front of the camera and what came across in the interview was her obvious love for the game from an early age. 'Tennis is a family passion and the Middletons came to queue and watch Wimbledon most years. She told me how mortified she was when her father once mistook Tim Henman for Pete Sampras. ''My father is not going to appreciate this, but we were walking past Tim Henman and we had just seen Sampras play. And dad said very coolly, 'Hi Pete.' I was mortified!'' Since that embarrassing encounter, Princess Kate has had plenty of opportunities to meet Henman and rectify her father's past mishap. As a regular attendee of high-profile matches, she is often seen sitting in the Royal Box. The Princess also presents the tournament's finalists with their trophies, the most recent recipient being men's singles champion Carlos Alcaraz in 2024.

Alanis Morissette gives fans in Cardiff the one thing they want
'Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you,' so the song goes. And it's terrifying that 2025 marks 30 years since the release of much-loved Alanis Morissette album Jagged Little Pill. Back in 1995 and for years after, it was the CD teenagers across the world, myself included, obsessively played for a solid hour right through to the bonus a cappella track of You Oughta Know. The perfect album for letting off steam. No need to skip a song. Three decades on, lyrics still etched into our brains, fans at Cardiff's Blackweir Fields joined in with every single word of those JLP tracks, for some now perhaps with the angst of perimenopause rather than adolescence. 'All I really want is some patience' directed at their kids now rather than parents. And one fan brought a flag that declared 'My ex is here Alanis. Don't hold back." She really didn't. Remarkably it's the first time that Alanis Morissette has ever played in Wales with promoters moving the gig from the castle to accommodate the demand. From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What's On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here After a '90s' montage charting the singer's rise to fame, her set kicked off with the sound of the harmonica. Alanis arrived to the opening bars of Hand In My Pocket, the indie pop queen donned in black leather-style skater trousers with a chain, leopard-print top and red trainers. Off the back of an incredible Glastonbury debut at the weekend, expectations were high. But Alanis was radiant and pitch-perfect, her voice as powerful and flawless live as on her albums. Testament to Jagged Little Pill, a beefy nine songs from that era made it onto the set including Right Through You, You Oughta Know, Perfect, Head Over Feet, You Learn, Mary Jane and her biggest track Ironic. Alongside them and no lesser were recent tracks, just as powerful and confessional, like Reasons I Drink (from 2020 album Such Pretty Forks in the Road) about her battles with addiction and the brilliantly catchy Hands Clean (from 2002's Under Rug Swept), the story of a relationship with an older man when Alanis was 14. Alanis didn't stop moving. Darting across the stage, she performed with high energy, spinning furiously to Smiling and head-banging her long locks for Uninvited. Gone is the serious teen; she genuinely seemed to be having the time of her life. Beyond introducing her band and expressing her gratitude and love for the audience, she didn't give the crowd a lot of chat. But she's always had plenty to say through her music and feminist messages flashed up on the screens behind. Statistics appeared during Right Through You highlighting sexual violence against women, the gender pay gap and inequality, later followed by anti-war and pro-choice messages. The lack of interaction between songs didn't detract from the one thing that fans were there for - to belt out the songs that soundtracked their most formative years. It was a mass singalong from start to end, with screams of 'Thank you, consequence! Thank you, silence!' in the uplifting finale of Thank U. You do wonder what it would have sounded like in the cauldron of the Principality than in open-air. But while Cardiff's newest music venue has had its critics for hogging public space in the summer ( read more about that here ), you can't deny that the park was an absolute joy to be in on a warm and sunny July evening. Alanis Morissette impeccably delivered fans a show of sentimentality, but she's no novelty nostalgia act. Her voice is incredible and her song-writing as relevant now as ever. The Blackweir Live music series continues with Slayer on Thursday and Stevie Wonder next Wednesday. Tickets are available for Slayer here and Stevie Wonder here .
