RON97 Price Down Four Sen, RON95 And Diesel Unchanged
In a statement today, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said the retail price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre, while diesel prices also remain unchanged throughout the country - at RM2.15 per litre in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, and RM2.91 per litre in the peninsula.
MOF said the prices were set based on the weekly retail pricing of petroleum products, using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.

Sarawak aligns tourism development with RMK13 investment zones
KUCHING: The Sarawak government has expressed readiness to align its tourism development strategies with the newly announced tourism investment zones under the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13). Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Sarawak's Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, stated that while the state already possesses strong tourism offerings, further collaboration with federal initiatives will enhance mutual benefits. 'If the tourism investment zones include areas like Mulu, Niah, the Kuching Delta, and the Rainforest World Music Festival, then we are already aligned. We just need deeper discussions,' he said. He emphasised the importance of avoiding overlaps and instead strengthening ongoing and future efforts. Sarawak's tourism sector has shown promising growth this year, with visitor numbers nearing five million and revenue surpassing RM1 billion. Abdul Karim, who also oversees youth and entrepreneurial development, stressed that socioeconomic programs for bumiputera must align with Sarawak's existing ecosystem to ensure effective implementation. He welcomed RMK13's focus on expanding business opportunities through funding, training, and mentorship, noting that the state government has similar initiatives under the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. Speaking at the Youth EdXchange Programme 2025, he highlighted the importance of youth empowerment. 'Your experiences—from community immersion to sustainability workshops—prove that when given a platform, young people lead with purpose,' he said. Govt bent on safeguarding Sabah's rights – Anwar

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen's Day here on Sunday, Anwar said the Federal Government will also continue to safeguard the nation's sovereignty against any form of intrusion, whether on land or at sea. He further emphasised that Malaysia is prepared to bring matters concerning Sabah's rights and the country's sovereignty to international court proceedings if necessary. 'Why are we doing this? Because this is our country — Sabah is part of Malaysia. We are spending tens of millions of Ringgit, maybe a hundred million Ringgit, to defend our rights. We will not allow even an inch of our land or sea to be encroached upon. 'Wherever it may be — in the Spanish courts or internationally — we will fight to the maximum to defend Sabah's rights because Sabah is part of Malaysia,' he said. Also present were Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, and his deputy Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup. Anwar said the MADANI Government is committed to driving Sabah's development and resolving demands under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) through various initiatives and allocations, stressing that the relationship between the state and Federal Governments must remain strong. Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said among the resolved matters is the interim special grant for Sabah, which has been increased from RM300 million to RM600 million this year, along with an allocation of RM10 billion to complete the Pan Borneo Highway in Sabah. 'It (Pan Borneo Highway in Sabah) was delayed under the previous government, but we are continuing it under the responsibility of the Federal Government. Maybe it's not visible yet, not completed, but at least we've approved it and the work packages are in progress,' he said. On utilities, Anwar said the Federal Government has given full authority over electricity supply management to the state government, along with continuous subsidies for seven years until 2030 amounting to RM3.54 billion. To address the ongoing water supply issues, the Federal Government has approved an allocation of RM300 million, in addition to handing over projects worth under RM50 million to the state administration.

13MP: Govt not neglecting rural areas – Ahmad Zahid

Ahmad Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said that for Sabah, he observed several key areas of specific focus, including efforts to position the state as a Blue Economy hub to attract investment in new strategic industries. 'We will also enhance flood mitigation measures for the safety and wellbeing of the people,' he said when officiating the 'Sentuhan Kasih Desa MADANI @ Lahad Datu' programme in Kampung Sapagaya here on Sunday. He said the government also plans to turn Sabah into a food production hub, thereby strengthening the role of rural areas as the backbone of national food security. When tabling the 13MP for the 2026–2030 period under the theme 'Redesigning Development', Prime Minsiter Datuk Seri Anwar Inrahim announced initiatives such as the Sarawak Hydrogen Hub and Sabah Energy Supply Assurance to strengthen energy infrastructure in both states. Under the 13MP, priority will also be given to the construction of the Sabah-Sarawak-Kalimantan road network in alignment with the relocation of Indonesia's capital to Nusantara in East Kalimantan. Emphasis is also placed on an intensive poverty eradication strategy, digital transformation, and support for the resilience of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The government remains committed to strengthening the retail network of 'Pasar Tamu' markets in Sabah and Sarawak, the development of integrated fisheries hubs, coastal and maritime tourism, as well as blue biotechnology — including upgrading bunkering facilities at Sabah ports. Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid said the 13MP is also a manifestation of the MADANI Government's resolve to develop basic infrastructure, strengthen entrepreneurship and enhance disaster preparedness in rural areas. At the programme, he also presented support equipment aid under the Rural Entrepreneurship Empowerment Support Scheme (SPKLB) and officiated the opening of a new KEMAS kindergarten building and skills training classroom.-Bernama
