Gogglebox's Lee Riley shares rare glimpse of Jenny Newby's husband Ray
Gogglebox 's Lee Riley has sent fans into a frenzy by offering a rare glimpse of his co-star Jenny Newby's husband Ray. Lee, 57, took to Instagram exciting fans with delightful snaps from their recent trip to Cyprus.
Of course not one to be far behind was long-time best pal Jenny, 69, and her rarely-seen husband. Lee posted: "What a fabulous catch up with my beautiful side kick Jenny and husband Ray at home in Northern Cyprus."
Included in the post were smile-filled shots of Lee and Ray sharing a drink at the bar, a selfie with Jenny, and a playful snap of the trio pulling silly faces beside the pool.
Fans rushed to the comments as reported by Hull Live, with some gushing over them such as: "Best team on Gogglebox. Fab pics of the three of you."
One fan exclaimed how great the trio looked, saying: "Looking great - all 3 of you. Happy Pride and have a great week! ! !". Eager for their return to the show, another admirer said: "Can't wait for you to be back on Gogglebox, the best."
Aother was pleased to see Ray's image: "Nice to put a face to Ray, enjoy bet it's roasting." Ray, who has shied away from the public eye during Jenny's decade-long appearance on Gogglebox, made a rare appearance in these photographs.
Jenny and Lee's antics have become a favourite among viewers, from Jenny's devoted note-taking in he notebook during Line of Duty to Lee's constant prank-pulling, although their off-screen lives have stayed largely private.
Gogglebox stars Jenny and Lee have shared an unbreakable bond since they first crossed paths in 1994. Their friendship was first cemented during the days when Jenny was the landlady of The Crown Inn pub in Paull and Lee was one of her regulars.
Jenny recollected their early days in an interview with Ireland's Big Issue magazine: "Lee was a customer at my pub, The Crown Inn in Paull. He became a regular in 1994 and used to come in pretty much every night with his partner and we were friends from the off. We've been best friends ever since."
Lee, responding to Jenny's trip down memory lane, joked: "I wish I'd never gone in the pub – it cost me a fortune. When I first met her, she had a perm and I can remember thinking, 'She needs a haircut.'".
Reflecting on their enduring friendship, he added: "We were firm friends immediately. I don't think we've ever had an argument. We're too placid to argue. She makes me laugh too much for me to ever fall out with her."
