Riders have completed the 15th edition Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, held in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council.
Cyclists filled the traffic-free streets on Sunday morning across Dubai for a pulsating race, culminating in an exciting sprint finish, family fun and an incredible atmosphere in the Eat Well Live Well Village at Expo City Dubai.
15th edition of the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, saw exceptional racing in the Elite Invitational Category and Group 1 - Elite Seeded competition.
Thousands of riders set off for the 96.4 km race from Expo City Dubai and the last rider successfully crossed the finish line around 1 p.m. completing the event.

In the elite category, male athlete Francesco Lamon and female athlete Makhabbat Umutzhanova were fastest across the finish line with respective times of 2:01:47 and 2:01:49, taking top spot in the standings and earning AED 10,000 each from the lucrative AED 36,000 prize pot. Lamon was followed closely by Maksim Orekhov and Jasper Verkuijl both securing podium positions with finishing times of 2:01:47. respectively. Similarly, Ebtissam Zayed and Akvile Gedraityte took second and third place with close margins, finishing with times of 2:01:49.
To cap off a remarkable Aster Pharmacy BIG 5 competition, the overall winners saw Shaun Carey and Helle Bachofen Von Echt emerge as the male and female winners with times of 2:01:49 and 2:02:26. respectively.
In the Open Category it was Emmauel Cabanas and Tania Rodrigues who took home the wins in the grand finale, with Cabanas crossing the finishing line in 2:01:49 and Rodrigues completing the 96.4km course in 2:02:28. In the Vets Category it was Simon Cox and Adriana Sanchez who took home the wins in the grand finale, with Cox crossing the finishing line in 2:01:51 and Sanchez completing the 96.4km course in 2:15:46.
Held in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, Spinneys and Dubai 92, the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge is one of the Middle East's premium sporting races, regularly attracting thousands of riders from all over the world.
The 2025 Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge, a key qualifying race in the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Series season, saw elite cyclists take to the streets of Dubai, with 346 riders earning their spot in the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Lorne, Australia.

Hatta is set to become a vibrant hub of sports and outdoor activities this summer, as the region hosts a wide array of events under the 'Our Summer is Sporty' initiative launched by the Dubai Sports Council. The initiative aims to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among residents and visitors across Dubai during the summer months. More than 6,000 participants are expected to take part in diverse activities that will unfold across various locations in Hatta throughout July. Supported by the Supreme Committee for the Development of Hatta and organised in collaboration with several partners, the events include mountain hiking, running, kayaking, yoga, night walks and indoor sports tournaments, catering to people of all ages, nationalities and fitness levels. The Hatta Summer Sports Tournament, organised by Hatta Sports Games Company, will kick off on July 4 at the Community Development Hall and will continue till July 31. The tournament features a rich programme of competitions, including corporate football, PlayStation contests, kids' football festivals, soap football matches, walking challenges for senior citizens, badminton and volleyball tournaments for girls, tug-of-war contests, cultural competitions and youth dialogue sessions. Visitors can also enjoy recreational activities such as horse riding, guided kayak tours in Hatta Dam and special children's tours in Hatta Honey Park. Hayei Hassan Al Budawi, Head of the Sports Games Sector at Hatta Club, emphasised the importance of the initiative, saying: 'We are proud to host this diverse summer programme under the 'Our Summer is Sporty' initiative, which encourages community members - residents, citizens and visitors alike - to stay active during the summer. Hatta's breathtaking landscapes and unique sports offerings attract participants from across the UAE and beyond, providing a memorable experience amid mountains and valleys. 'Through these activities, we aim to engage over 1,500 participants, contributing to Dubai Sports Council's vision of embedding a sports culture in our society and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.' Key events also include a yoga session at Hatta Dam on July 12, a night hiking trek in Wadi Hub on the same day, and an open kayaking day at Hatta Dam on July 20, offering free participation for all community members. A major running race organised by Super Sports is scheduled for July 27 at Hatta Dam. 'Our Summer is Sporty' is a cornerstone of the Dubai Sports Council's strategy to make physical activity an integral part of daily life in Dubai. The initiative offers a comprehensive and diverse array of sports activities designed to engage all segments of society. These include exhilarating beach sports, thrilling snow-based competitions, dynamic marine and water sports, and challenging mountain adventures. It also places a strong emphasis on promoting women's sports and ensuring inclusive opportunities through specially organized events for People of Determination. In addition to these, the initiative features high-level competitive championships that attract elite athletes, intensive training camps aimed at skill development and performance enhancement, and a variety of family-friendly events that encourage community participation and a healthy, active lifestyle for all ages.
