2025 MLB All-Star Game MVP Odds: Can Ohtani, Judge Win For First Time?

If you look at the most recent winners of the All-Star Game MVP, there are some names that might shock both true baseball and casual fans.
Last year it was Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran. The year before, it was Rockies catcher Elias Diaz.
Both Duran and Diaz were making their All-Star debuts and have not made it back to the game.
Prior to those two, Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton won in 2022 and Blue Jays slugger Vladdy Guerrero Jr. won in 2021, both star names.
There are two superstars, however, that have yet to win ASG MVP: Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge.
Ohtani, a five-time All-Star, won AL MVP in 2021 and 2023, and NL MVP last season. Judge, a seven-time All-Star, won AL MVP in 2022 and 2024.
Last season, Ohtani hit a three-run homer, while Judge went 0-for-2. However, the AL won the game, creating a blockade from Ohtani likely winning MVP.

The Las Vegas Raiders won just four games during the 2024 NFL season under head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco. Owner Mark Davis opted to part ways with these two and replace them during the offseason. Advertisement Bleacher Report's Moe Moton commended Davis and his decision-makers for this move and pointed out that the team made several key upgrades ahead of the 2025 NFL season. "The Silver and Black significantly upgraded their coaching staff, hiring head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly," Moton wrote. "They traded for two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith. The team also drafted top running back Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick." Moton predicted the last-place team in each of the league's eight divisions, and he chose Las Vegas for the AFC West. Advertisement "With those additions, Las Vegas can hang with some of the top teams across the league," Moton wrote. "That said, the Raiders must make up more ground between their roster and legitimate playoff-contending clubs. The Raiders could win seven or eight games, yet still finish last in the AFC West." This may be a disappointing outcome for Raider Nation, which has only experienced two playoff appearances and zero postseason victories in the last two decades. However, there are key reasons for this prediction, as Moton pointed out. "Las Vegas has two rookie receivers in Jack Bech and Dont'e Thornton Jr., who may have to take on prominent roles as complementary playmakers to All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers and wideout Jakobi Meyers. The coaching staff must also sort out the starters at both guard positions," Moton wrote. While the team has issues offensively, the Raiders also enter the 2025 campaign with question marks on their defense. Advertisement "The Raiders have a mostly unproven secondary," Moton pointed out. "They don't have a sure-fire starter at cornerback. Safety Isaiah Pola-Mao has to make more impact plays this year than he did as a first-year starter in 2024." New head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek completely revamped the roster this offseason in their first year at the helm. Raider Nation did have concerns, however, about new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Kelly has been widely accepted as a bright offensive mind at the college level. But his short-term success with the Philadelphia Eagles, followed by utter failure with the San Francisco 49ers, has caused a bit of uncertainty heading into the year. ESPN commentator and Super Bowl champion safety Ryan Clark was asked on "The Mina Kimes Show" last week about whether he was a believer in Kelly. Advertisement "Yes, I am. He changed," Clark said. "In a day and age where what he started in college football is what everybody does. He had three pros on the outside [at Ohio State] ... There were times where, I'm obviously sitting in the stadium when they're playing Notre Dame, who's beat up up front, and he's like, 'You know what? We're gonna go 12 [personnel]. We're gonna run the football. We're gonna find ways to use 21 [personnel], and even though I have all these people on the outside, this is where I can win.'" This is a promising revelation for the Raiders, as they had arguably the worst offense in the league last season. Las Vegas' rushing attack ranked 32nd with just 79.8 yards per game, and their 18.2 points per contest were among the worst in the NFL as well. Las Vegas made several key upgrades on offense in terms of personnel as well, with quarterback Geno Smith now under center and rookie Ashton Jeanty expected to revive the backfield. There are question marks surrounding the team's wide receiver corps, given that two rookies are expected to contribute heavily. However, 2024 All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers and 1,000-yard receiver Jakobi Meyers should eat up the bulk of the targets.
