Emmerdale fans blow holes in Owen and John 'suicide' twist

Fans of ITV soap Emmerdale have pointed out some plot holes in the latest part of John Sugden's (Oliver Farnworth) storyline. Last week, John learnt that Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) were going to try and work out who killed Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). Desperate to keep their focus off him, John realised he needed to come up with a plan – and fast. That same day, John was asked to visit Owen Michaels' (Simon Haines) house as part of his work at the surgery. When he arrived, he found Owen – the guy who spiked Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) – unconscious on the sofa. John rushed to call an ambulance, but then realise another problem of his would be solved if he just…let Owen die. In the time it took for Owen's life to slip away, John had created a story that made Owen look like he killed Nate. John wrote a note on Owen's laptop that confessed to murdering Nate, as well as revealing why he did it. He then used antibacterial wipes to clean the laptop, the door handle and Owen's neck, to ensure his fingerprints would be removed from the scene. A few days later, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) went to check on Owen and found him dead. DS Walsh then arrived, and later told Tracy and Cain that this man killed Nate. It was a twist that left Cain and Tracy stunned. While they have no reason to not believe Walsh, fans of the ITV soap have certainly been struggling, as they noticed multiple plot holes in the scenes that saw John frame Owen, and what followed after. Taking to social media platform X, the point mentioned the most is John's effort to clean his fingerprints from Owen's house. It's possible a post-mortem would've been conducted on Owen after his death, to determine what he had in his system when he died. As a result of this and forensics checking the house, surely they would've noticed someone had cleaned Owen's neck, the laptop, and other areas? And therefore considered that he perhaps did not end his life? 'Did they notice that all the fingerprints on the laptop and Owen's hands had been wiped clean? #Emmerdale', one fan wondered. Another pointed out: 'He didn't seem to have his 'I'm a Medic' over shoulder pack with him that he's usually surgically attached to, just a smaller brown more casual looking bag. Not suss at all that certain areas have been wiped down, whether effective print/DNA wise or not #Emmerdale.' Also on X, audience members noticed that Robert mentioned Owen's confession in the pub…without actually being told about it. 'How did Robert know Owen confessed to killing Nate? Tracey and Cain haven't told anyone; John and Liam just walked in. Plot hole klaxon! #Emmerdale', they highlighted. This week, a suspicious Robert learnt from Owen's brother Steve that they were together in Hull the day Nate died. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? It proved someone else murdered him, but Robert grew frustrated when Steve said he didn't want to tell the police, due to him and Owen attending an illegal job in the city last year. More Trending In upcoming episodes, the theory that John is too good to be true is fuelled for Robert when he learns of the many times he has saved a villager's life. It leaves Robert in with a chance of exposing him but if John works out what's going on, will it end up being someone else? Perhaps it could be Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), given that he currently has no idea he's talking to John through the mental health charity? Robert attacked in Emmerdale early ITVX release - and not by John

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has been given a warning by someone in Emmerdale after proving that Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) did not kill Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). Yesterday, Robert discovered that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) had visited Owen right before he was found dead. He was incredibly suspicious, and then contacted his brother Steve to learn more about him. Steve confirmed to Robert that he was with Owen the day Nate died, which proved he didn't commit the crime. It was a huge twist for Robert, but he felt frustrated when Steve then said he had no intention of telling the police this. Steve's reluctancy to clear his brother's name was because he was attending an illegal job with Owen and didn't want the police to know. While Steve didn't want to tell them – Robert did, and wasted no time in heading to the station in this evening's episode. Unfortunately, Robert was faced with an uninterested DC Cole. He pointed out that Robert's claim isn't particularly thorough, because it comes from him and not Steve. Cole then contacted Steve, and returned to 'prove' to Robert that he was lying. Steve had told Cole that he was at a birthday party the day Nate died, and had no idea where Owen was. Robert was incredibly annoyed and had no choice but to leave. More Trending A while later, Robert was at The Hide by himself. He was enjoying a drink, but that was very quickly thrown to the floor by Steve, who had arrived a very angry man indeed. Steve grabbed Robert and told him to back off, because he doesn't like it when the police dig into his business. It was a clear message, and Robert agreed to leave him alone. He's reached a dead end but in upcoming episodes, Robert will learn more about the many times John has saved the lives of Emmerdale villagers. Kelly Osbourne pays tribute to 'best friend' after dad Ozzy's death

Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence two days after the death of her father, Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who died on Tuesday July 22 at the age of 76. Kelly Osbourne has spoken out following the heartrending loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, earlier this week. ‌ The Black Sabbath icon, affectionately dubbed The Prince of Darkness by legions of fans, had faced health challenges in recent years and performed his last concert mere weeks before his passing. Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday July 22, leaving behind a bereft Sharon who is mourning not just her husband but also her best friend. ‌ Ozzy's sisters have expressed their sorrow, remembering him as "loving and funny", reports the Mirror. ‌ The Osbourne family released a poignant statement: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis." ‌ His former bandmates from Black Sabbath have shared touching tributes as well. Two days after the news of Ozzy's death at 76, Kelly posted an excerpt from the Black Sabbath track "Changes" to her Instagram Stories, a moving homage that echoes a cherished memory between father and daughter. "Changes," penned by Ozzy Osbourne and his bandmates, was originally released by Black Sabbath in 1972. In a touching father-daughter collaboration, Ozzy and Kelly re-recorded the song with updated lyrics in 2003, reflecting their relationship. The duet soared to No. 1 in the UK charts, making them only the second father-daughter duo to achieve this feat since Frank and Nancy Sinatra in 1967. Kelly recently took to Instagram to express her profound sorrow, posting: "I feel unhappy I am so sad," on Thursday, July 24. "I lost the best friend I ever had." ‌ Devastated fans have been paying their respects at his Buckinghamshire residence, leaving flowers and heartfelt notes at the gates. Mourners have also placed half-finished pints and beer bottles by candles on Birmingham's Black Sabbath bridge as a tribute to the rock legend. A confidant disclosed to People magazine details of Ozzy's final days, stating, "Ozzy's final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace." ‌ In 2020, Ozzy Osbourne revealed his Parkinson's disease diagnosis and credited his daughter Kelly for her support during his health struggles. Reflecting on the period following his diagnosis, Kelly remarked: "We just kept going everyday and the magic that happens, I think, when you're in pain ..." Ozzy, gesturing towards his youngest daughter, interjected: "She's the one! If it wasn't for her I'd be still lying up on the couch." Kelly remarked: "The only thing I know when it comes to my dad is what can I do to make him smile and I know that going to the studio makes him happy. So I got him up and got him to the studio, and that's all I did. Everything else was him."
