ITV to air powerful new documentary on Friends star Matthew Perry's tragic death as charged doctor pleads guilty
Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy will be shown on ITV1 and ITVX next month.

Perry was beloved worldwide for his iconic role as wisecracking Chandler Bing.
He starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.
The one-off documentary first aired on US streamer Peacock in February this year.
However, it has since been updated by producers to include brand new developments.
Morgan Fairchild - who played Perry's mother on Friends - talks about their time working together.
It also features US Sun journalist Katy Forrester and Martin Estrada, who was District Attorney at the Central District of California US Attorney's office at the time of Perry's death.
Meanwhile, the documentary will be shown at 9pm on August 18.

It comes as Dr. Salvador Plasencia pleaded guilty to giving Perry ketamine in the month leading up to his passing.
The California doctor had been charged in the 2023 overdose death of the Friends star.
He pleaded guilty on Wednesday to four counts of illegal distribution of the prescription anesthetic ketamine.
The 43-year-old physician faces up to 40 years in prison when sentenced, prosecutors warned.
He was one of five people charged in connection with Perry 's tragic death.
The beloved actor and comedian was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023.
Perry had suffered acute effects of ketamine and drowning, his autopsy revealed.

Hailey Bieber tried to embrace the term by wearing a 'Nepo Baby' crop top in 2023, to acknowledge her Baldwin family dynasty links, but was then criticised online for 'not being enough' of a nepo baby. Stranger Things actor Maya Hawke – daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman – tried a different tack, admitting what a privileged position she is in, compared with the rest of us. Since the whole debate erupted with New York Magazine's 2022 cover The Year of the Nepo Baby, things have changed. I say it's about time we stopped hating on nepo babies. Today's nepos – nepo 2.0, the next generation – are fully aware of their ridiculousness, and they're now actually playing up to it. Because they can't help who their famous parents are – and what else are they supposed to do? That's why Beckham now courts criticism and finger-pointing laughs by cooking seawater pasta, and why the Oasis nepo babies are happy to push their status as cultural icons for a new generation. The difference is the new breed of nepo babies aren't struggling with the nepo label. They are just happy to weaponise it and get up in our faces. Nepo babies offer the rest of us light relief in dark times. Getting ahead because of mum and/or dad isn't going away – so we might as well enjoy it.

I don't know where she gets them from, but she always has them. 'I don't know what the market rate for those are but it's $10, $20, $30, $50 each pill. You do the math - a lot of money is going out the window for that.' When he first discovered the fling, his wife apologized profusely and promised to break it off, according to Phypers. She also offered to let him look at her phone whenever he wants to 'rebuild trust' but, he said, she soon returned to making plans to meet up with her lover. Phypers said: 'When I first found out, it really stung but she offered to rebuild trust by letting me see her phone. 'Well, it turns out she's got another number, too, which I just found out about. 'It kills me. She's been setting up times to meet him out of town while creating fights with me.' The couple's showdown came after he said he discovered that the affair was still going on and he took photos of the raunchy conversations -at which point, Richards snatched his phone. Phypers said he later discovered the device 'smashed to powder' in the garbage can. He said: 'I run up to her and I go, "What the f***k did you do this for?" And she goes, "I did not do anything to your phone." Just denied it. 'And then I'm like, so it was Casper the Ghost? And she still denied it, so I ran out. I was in disbelief, and I took off. 'I just feel like I've been taken for a fool. It's been a nightmare. Just a huge nightmare.'
