₹146 crore allocated to offer agricultural equipment to farmers on subsidy: A.P. Social Welfare Minister
Mr. Veeranjaneya Swamy, along with Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao, Santanuthalapadu MLA B.N. Vijay Kumar, Ongole Mayor Gangada Sujatha, Tobacco Board Chairman Yashwant Kumar Chidipothu and Collector A. Thameem Ansaria, participated in the programme organised by the Agriculture Department in a field near the tobacco auction centre.
On the occasion, Mr. Veeranjaneya Swamy said, 'The alliance government has streamlined the Central government schemes that were stalled in the regime of YSR Congress Party due to lack of matching grants. Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme will be implemented on June 20 to provide financial assistance to the farmers.'
Later, he visited the tobacco auction centre, held a meeting with the farmers and inspected the way tobacco is being procured at the centre. 'Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is a farmer's son and knows the hardships faced by the farmers. Our government has introduced a special budget for agriculture. The Chief Minister wants the paddy farmers to be happy,' the Minister said.
The Social Welfare Minister further said that the coalition government will support the tobacco farmers so that they do not suffer any losses. He asked the Chairman of the Tobacco board to ensure that companies purchase the low-grade tobacco also. He said that the government has already formed a committee of ministers to solve their issues.
Assuring support to them, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar said, 'The tobacco companies have earned good profit during the last two years and should buy all the tobacco grown this year as well. The State government will procure black burley tobacco through Markfed from June 16.'
'The tobacco companies should also take responsibility in supporting the farmers. Similar to last year's procurement, the entire crop should be purchased this year. Otherwise, it is not right for companies to buy as they please. They should bring local conditions to the attention of their managements,' said Ongole MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao.
Collector Thameem Ansaria said that the farmers should take advantage of the financial assistance provided by the government. She said that the yield can be increased by implementing the latest technology. The government has focused on making agriculture profitable and it is also giving high priority to the natural farming system, she informed.

Bengaluru: Accusingthe ruling Congress of 'failing' Karnataka, state BJP President B Y Vijayendra on Sunday urged the Siddaramaiah-led government to file a criminal case and take strict action against companies that are supplying fake seeds and fertilisers to farmers. He said a police vigilance team should be formed to take strict action against the networks that cheat farmers. Vijayendra later also said that BJP's farmers' wing will hold a state-wide protest on Monday, as he accused the state government of creating 'artificial shortage' of urea in various parts of the state because of its 'mismanagement', leading to 'panic' among farmers. He also alleged that brokers and traders hold stocks. The BJP chief was responding to reports about fake seeds and fertilisers being supplied to farmers in some parts of the state, and protests by farmers in various places alleging a shortage in the supply of urea. 'The efforts to trouble the food-providing farmers and exploit them within the system have been ongoing for a long time. Companies supplying fertilizers and seeds are engaging in the despicable act of sabotaging agricultural activities by providing fake seeds to the enthusiastic farming community that is expecting a good harvest in the backdrop of a promising monsoon this time,' Vijayendra said. 'I urge the government to file a criminal case against such companies in this regard and take strict action, and also to take all necessary measures to ensure that the farming community gets quality seeds and necessary fertilizers in a timely manner,' he said in a post on 'X'. Vijayendra said, in this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government, along with agricultural incentive schemes, had taken precautionary measures to protect farmers. 'The state government too needs to take committed steps in this regard, so that the lives of farmers are not affected,' he said. To strengthen the Agriculture Department and to take strict action against the networks that cheat farmers, a police vigilance team should be formed, the BJP leader said. Later speaking to reporters here, Vijayendra said, monsoon started early and even though Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Agriculture Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy were aware, the proper stocking and timely supply of fertilisers to various districts were not ensured, leading to shortage. Alleging that an artificial shortage has been created despite the central government having given sufficient quantities of urea to the state, he said, more than 8,70,000 metric tonnes of urea had been received by Karnataka from the Centre, but only about 5, 30,000 metric tonnes is available in the market. 'What about the rest? The fear is that somewhere there is some kind of hand-in-glove. Brokers and traders are keeping the stocks; it has to be released. The state government is trying to create an artificial shortage. This will not help farmers and that's the reason farmers are upset,' he said Targeting the Congress government, citing media reports about farmers' protest against urea shortage, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R Ashoka said, the government should have been alert and paid attention towards ensuring storage of necessary amount of fertilizer and its timely distribution, when the monsoon arrived a month in advance this time. Instead, those in the government completely neglected the farmers in the heat of factional fights for power or chair, Ashoka said in a post on 'X'. 'The curse of the farmers will affect this Congress government,' he added.

Party workers' role key in delivering schemes: Gottipati
Addanki: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar announced that the coalition government, under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, aims to ensure that welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries and effectively communicate its initiatives to all citizens across the state. The minister, along with the Bapatla MP Tenneti Krishna Prasad unveiled a statue of NT Rama Rao and NTR Kalakshetram, and participated in 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu-Intintiki Telugu Desam' programme, at Chandaluru village in J Panguluru mandal, on Sunday. During the village-level campaign, Minister Gottipati visited households to assess the implementation of coalition government welfare programmes and gathered feedback from beneficiaries. Additionally, he distributed three-wheeler scooters to ten differently-abled individuals. Speaking on the occasion, Gottipati praised NTR as the pioneer of welfare schemes for the poor, noting that programmes like two-rupee rice and women's property rights are still implemented by numerous states nationwide. The minister announced infrastructure funding, including Rs 30 lakh for road construction in Chandaluru village, Rs 2 crore for the Chandaluru-Gangavaram BT road, and Rs 35 lakh for constructing a dining hall at the district council high school. Gottipati explained that the primary objective of the 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu- Intintiki Telugu Desam' initiative is to monitor how welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries during the coalition government's 15-month tenure. He emphasised that programmes such as pensions, Talliki Vandanam, and the Deepam gas scheme distribution should be verified by relevant department officials and secretariat staff. He emphasised the crucial role of party workers in implementing government schemes.

BEE rolling out ADEETIE scheme in West and East Godavari districts
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) of the Ministry of Power (MoP) has introduced 'Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme' in Andhra Pradesh. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the fisheries sector in West Godavari district and glass manufacturing (refractory) units in West and East Godavari districts would be the first beneficiaries, according to a press release by BEE Media Advisor (South India) A. Chandra Sekhar Reddy. He said BEE Director-General Akash Tripathi had appealed to all State governments to immediately scale up the implementation of ADEETIE scheme, for which the Centre had allocated a budget of ₹1,000 crore. Of this, ₹875 crore is meant for interest subvention to ease access to concessional finance for Energy-Efficient (EE) upgrades, and ₹50 crore for implementation and capacity-building. The MoP acknowledged the proactive role of A.P., Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in implementing ADEETIE scheme, which is designed to fast-track the adoption of advanced Energy-Efficient (EE) technologies in MSME, which were the backbone of the economy that provides employment to millions and drive innovation across sectors. The ADEETIE is expected to leverage total investments of over ₹9,000 crore. The scheme provides comprehensive support to MSME from investment grade energy audits and DPRs to financing assistance and monitoring and verification, ensuring measurable energy savings, reduced costs and enhanced productivity.
