Apple releases F1 haptic trailer that only works on iPhones: Here's how to watch
At its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2025, Apple made multiple references to Formula 1, and now the tech giant has released a new exclusive Haptic Trailer for F1 The Movie, which you can only watch on an iPhone.
The haptic trailer uses the iPhone's Taptic Engine to let people 'feel the action' by simply holding the phone in their palms. When watching the trailer for the upcoming movie, the phone physically vibrates in sync with different scenes like engine revving, roaring, time ticking, crashes, and the seatbelt clicking. This may sound gimmick at first, but it does offer a more immersive experience.
In case you are wondering, this is similar to how you would experience a movie in 4DX, which uses motion-enabled seats in conjunction with atmospheric effects like wind and lightning. Available on iPhones running iOS 18.4 or newer, the Haptic Trailer can be experienced from the Apple TV Plus tab of the built-in TV app.

For those wondering, this is the first movie trailer in the world to offer haptic feedback to enhance the viewing experience. With a budget of around $300 million, the upcoming F1 movie might prove to be Apple's biggest theatrical release yet.
F1 The Movie will be making its debut in India on June 27. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, who also made Top Gun: Maverick, the movie features Brad Pitt as the lead and an audio score by Hans Zimmer. It also features Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.
Following the theatrical release, F1 The Movie will also be available to stream for Apple TV+ subscribers. However, the company is yet to clarify if and when it will be coming to the streaming service.

Spielberg (Austria): The iconic Austrian Grand Prix will remain on the F1 calendar through 2041 inclusive, following the long-term extension of Formula 1's contract with promoter Projekt Spielberg GmbH & Co KG. The Austrian Grand Prix boasts a long and prestigious history in Formula 1, having appeared on the calendar 37 times, with the first race taking place in 1964. The Red Bull Ring, situated in the Styrian mountains, first hosted the event in 1970 and offers one of the most picturesque settings for a Formula 1 race, with drivers navigating the 4.3 km circuit known for its elevation changes and mix of high- and low-speed corners that encourage wheel-to-wheel battles. The circuit dropped off the calendar in 2004, but in 2010 the late Dietrich Mateschitz invested in the Red Bull Ring, funding renovations that revitalised the facility and led to its return in 2014. Since then, the race has become a favourite among fans and drivers alike. A roll call of greats from Formula 1's 75-year history have taken the top step in Austria, including Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Michael Schumacher and Alan Jones. Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said, "Austria has long been an incredibly special race for Formula 1 so it's fantastic we have secured the long-term future of a Grand Prix so deeply rooted in the sport's history. "The vision and passion of Dietrich Mateschitz gave the race the investment and attention that allowed it to return as an incredible event on the Formula 1 calendar. "Each year, returning to the stunning Styrian mountains is a highlight – an experience that evokes incredible emotion among our drivers, teams, and fans alike, creating an atmosphere unlike any other. "I want to extend my sincere thanks to Mark Mateschitz and Thomas Uberall and his team for their unwavering dedication to excellence, and to our incredible Austrian fanbase, whose enthusiasm and loyalty continue to elevate this iconic race." Four drivers from the current grid have also claimed victory in Austria. Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and George Russell have all triumphed at the Red Bull Ring, with Verstappen holding the record for the most wins on five (four under its guise as the Austrian Grand Prix and once when it featured as the Styrian Grand Prix in 2021). Mark Mateschitz added, 'I am delighted that Formula 1 will remain at the Red Bull Ring for many years to come. I am proud to continue my father's legacy and to preserve the rich history of motor racing in Styria and at the Red Bull Ring – with and, above all, for the people of the region. How does Joe Root unwind? Sketching on IPad and playing the guitar
An Apple pencil scribbling sketches on the IPad is how Joe Root will be found spending his time, around cricket but not quite playing it. Talking on UK Vitality's 'Day in the life of' show recently, Root spoke of why he digs drawing and sketches on his IPad whenever he finds a few hours to kill. 'When we are out on tours and in hotel rooms or I'm playing, sometimes I like to draw. I generally draw on my IPad now,' he told the show. 'It's something that if I didn't play cricket, I'd still have done at school and beyond. I just find it's a really nice way to switch off, take mind off stresses of touring or if it's time to fill before flying. It's a nice way to relax. And unwind really,' he said. A large part of it is a creativity outlet but the decorated batsman, looking to drop a bunch of records in coming days, also likened the sketching to cricket. 'There are some parallels for drawing – sketching with cricket really. As a batter you got to be, or I like to think you got to be a little bit of an artist. How you construct innings, how you decide shots you might have to play and how you manage different bowling types. There is a small crossover between the two,' he said. In the show he is seen dropping off his children to school, and asking them what they'd like to become when they grow up. 'Ninja, chef or an inventor,' is the answer, as he adds that a busy winter touring meant he had spent good time through the start of the summer at home with family. When quizzed on how he deals with pressure, Root said, 'If I feel pressure, I go back to, relate to when I started playing. That feeling of when you wake up in the morning and if it was raining outside we would still want to go outside and play cricket. Be it in garden, on the driveway, on the road. Me and my brother would have many Test matches. And we would think we are playing against Australia or South Africa. I remember that raw emotion that enjoyment I got from playing cricket,' he said adding he was keen to enjoy second half of my career, not burdened by captaincy anymore. Often spotted singing Oasis numbers, like Don't look back in anger, strumming an Ukulele, Root also carries a guitar on tours or to matches at home. 'I was very fortunate through a friend who's big supporter of cricket, I got a signed guitar. He basically said 'Good luck for Ashes, beat Australia.' Every now and again you take it on tour, and before long you have two hours and you figure out a song or a riff,' he said. When at home in his Sheffield village, Root has begun playing padel at the local club. 'They opened a padel centre in the village it's been about 4-5 weeks. One thing I love about it is spend time with friends, you get benefits of exercise as well. Not only does it scratch and itch of competitiveness but gets you active. One of the best things of sport is you make lifelong friends,' he said.
