SPOILER: WWE Hall of Famer to challenge for Women's title at Evolution 2025 after nearly twenty years
WWE
is gearing up to bring back the all-women's Premium Live Event, WWE Evolution 2025. It will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 13. Some top showdowns were added to the card on the June 30th edition of Monday Night RAW in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
WWE also taped the show for the upcoming July 4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, which saw a huge match being confirmed for the show, that will see a WWE Hall of Famer returning to the squared circle one more time for a Women's title opportunity.
Which WWE Hall of Famer will challenge for a title at WWE Evolution?
At the tapings of the July 4th edition of WWE SmackDown, WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton came out to the ring. She addressed her potential opponent for WWE SummerSlam, Jade Cargill, who earned the opportunity by defeating Asuka in the Queen of the Ring tournament finals at Night of Champions PLE.
Stratton also stated that she intended to defend her title at WWE Evolution PLE.
This led to The Storm coming down to the ring to confront Stratton. The Center of the Universe told her she would face a different opponent at Evolution. It was none other than WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus who came out next to a huge ovation. Stratus agreed to the challenge and had an exchange with the champion.
This will be the first time Trish Stratus has challenged for the WWE Women's Championship after nearly two decades.
The last one-on-one singles title bout she competed in was back in 2006. It was her final match as a full-time in-ring competitor against her longtime rival, Lita. The duo delivered one of the top showdowns in WWE history that saw Stratus win her seventh title and retire in her hometown of Toronto, Canada.
The Diva of the Decade will once again have that opportunity against Tiffany Stratton, the same woman she teamed up with at the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE to defeat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. However, with competitors on opposite ends now, it remains to be seen if Stratton can outlast a renowned name like Trish Stratus in one of the biggest matches of her career.

Other major highlights include Luca Criscifino punching his way out of the D'Angelo Family, Izzi Dam and Tatum Paxley taking out the best tag team in all of NXT and others. Let's have a look at the complete results and major highlights of the event. TNA's Joe Hendry vs. Wes Lee WWE NXT 7/1 kicked off with a clash between Joe Hendry and Wes Lee . Both wrestlers landed strikes on each other. Lee, towards the end, was assisted by the other High Ryze members, Tyreik Igwe and Tyson Dupont. However, Mike Santana appeared out of nowhere to pull both men out of the ring. This allowed Hendry to land the standing ovation on Lee. After the win, both Santana and Hendry eyed Trick Williams, who holds the TNA World Championship. Trick will now defend the title against both Santana and Hendry at TNA Slammiversary. Result : Joe Hendry defeated Wes Lee Myles Borne vs Lexis King Lexis King left no stone unturned to mock Myles Borne. During the match, the Brash King even taunted Borne's guests for the evening.
