Lanarkshire golf tournament in Natalie's memory raises record amount for Epilepsy Scotland
An annual golf tournament organised by a foundation set up in memory of a Lanarkshire schoolgirl raised a record amount at this year's event.
The Funky Natz Foundation was set up by the parents of 11-year-old Natalie Hughes who died suddenly in March 2011.
Natalie's mum and dad Eileen and Eddie launched the fundraising initiative following the unexplained death of their daughter, who had epilepsy.
The foundation has kept Natalie's memory alive while raising money for Epilepsy Scotland.

The annual golf tournament at Wishaw Golf Club is the fundraising highlight of the year and featured a top-prize of a brand new car, courtesy of Park's Renault Motherwell, as a prize for a hole-in-one at one of the greens.
Before this year's tournament the total raised stood at more than £160,000 and the committee hoped to take that to around the £170,000 mark.
However, this year's event raised an incredible record total of £16,153 in the East Kilbride girl's memory.
Around 140 golfers took part in 35 teams of four, with a Renault Clio Evolution TCe 90 up for grabs for a hole-in-one, worth almost £20,000.
No one managed to take the top prize but that didn't stop anyone from enjoying a fantastic day.
Tournament winners were Liam McGarry and Paul McMahon, who also had the best back nine, runners-up were Tam Wotherspoon and Grant Robertson, and finishing in third place were Brian Donahue and George Campbell.
There was also a tournament within the tournament this year and the Natalie Hughes Cup, courtesy of Epilepsy Scotland, was presented to Wullie McCulloch who had the best individual score on the day.

Charity cup raises £5000 for mental health in memory of 18-year-old Alex Lindsay
Set up by Alex's family after the teen suddenly and unexpectedly took his own life, Adored aims to keep his memory alive while helping young men who are struggling with their mental health. The sun shone as family and friends gathered for the annual Alex Lindsay Cup and raised over £5000 in memory of the popular East Kilbride teen. Marking seven years since the tragic passing of 18-year-old Alexander Iain Bonomy-Lindsay, the tournament kicked off on June 29 at the Enviro-Clean Stadium at Kirktonholme pitches - home to EKYM and EKYC. Sixteen teams turned out for the charity match raising more than £5329 for the family's dedicated mental health charity set up in Alex's name, Adored. Download the Lanarkshire Live app today The standard of football on display was the best the tournament has seen in its seven-year history with 'The Other Team' winning the trophy beating the EK Rolls-Royce 'The Rollies' 1-0. Alex's mum Jill said: "It was a fabulous day compounded by the excellent weather, making the event a great family day. "Sixteen teams took part and it was great to see the tournament evolving with both younger and women's teams taking part. "The after party continued in the clubhouse where players and supporters were entertained with live music from Ross Martin and duo Pat and Andy. Raffle prizes were drawn and everyone enjoyed a well earned drink and buffet. "The day has drawn a whopping £5329 with some donations still incoming. This money will be donated to Adored SCIO mental health charity which was set up in Alex's name after his passing in 2018." Inspired by his favourite song, I Wanna be Adored, by The Stone Roses, the cause was established with a focus on mental health and saving young lives. Now an annual celebration of Alex's life, the tournament has raised tens of thousands of pounds for mental health charities including Adored and Beautiful Inside and Out. The charity provides individual and group support for mental health in conjunction with No Limits Coaching and this year has provided support in Calderglen High, St Andrew's and St Bride's High and Duncanrig Secondary. Adored now plans to extend the support across South Lanarkshire schools incorporating events in other learning communities. Jill added: "Thanks goes to those at Enviro-Clean grounds for providing the venue free of charge, and for their kind donation, and to all those who helped on the day with set up and organisation. "Thanks to Mr Bell from Calderglen High School who hasn't missed a tournament and who helped by refereeing this year. And as always thanks to Jack Smith (Alex's friend) whose dedication to keeping the tournament going each year is second to none." Remembering her beloved boy, Jill added: "The day as always evokes many emotions , but for me the overriding sense of pride was immense. "Alex was a larger than life character and it brings myself and the family much comfort to see that, despite his absence, his life is not forgotten and can hopefully bring some help to those suffering from mental health difficulties." Thousands raised for Epilepsy cause in memory of Glasgow teen
Tyla Neve Malone was just 19 years old when she passed away in March, and since that day, hundreds of people have come together to raise funds in her name for Epilepsy Scotland. Tyla lived with the neurological condition, but was described as a "resilient" person who "bounced back with a smile and spirit that inspired everyone around her." Following her death, Drumchapel Amateurs FC, where she often supported her dad as a coach, and her three brothers, who have played in their team, decided to organise a charity match "in her honour" to raise awareness of the condition. A spokesperson for the club said, "Tyla was a beautiful girl with a bright, bubbly personality and a heart full of kindness. "With her dad and three brothers all playing for Drumchapel Amateurs at various times, she quickly became a regular supporter and a much-loved part of the club. "She was always up for a laugh, never missed a fundraiser and brought her energy to every social event. "She had a big heart and a genuine warmth. Her infectious character had us all smiling, and being in her company was always a pleasure. She wasn't just part of the crowd - she was a special part of the club." The charity campaigns for improved healthcare, better information provision and an end to stigma. The club continued: "Tyla lived with epilepsy, but her strength and resilience shone through every challenge. "She will be deeply missed by all of us - as a friend, a sister, a daughter, and a cherished member of the Drumchapel family." A GoFundMe was set up shortly after Tyla's death and has since collected more than £22,000 in her memory from 740 donors. A message from Tyla's parents, Chris and Donna, says they are "overwhelmed" by the support they have received. "The outpouring of love has been overwhelming, and we've appreciated every bit of it. "To the club, our amazing community - your kindness, time and generosity have meant the world to us. "This event is a beautiful tribute to Tyla, and it wouldn't have happened without you. "Thank you for supporting us and keeping Tyla's spirit alive in such a powerful way."
