Reports: Jeremy Strong to play Zuckerberg in 'Social Network Part II'
July 31 (UPI) -- Succession actor Jeremy Strong is reportedly in talks to portray Facebook co-founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a sequel to the 2010 film The Social Network.
The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday that Social Network writer Aaron Sorkin will return to write and helm the new movie, which is inspired by "The Facebook Files," a 2021 series of Wall Street Journal articles penned by Jeff Horwitz.
Jesse Eisenberg portrayed Zuckerberg, now 41, in the first film, directed by David Fincher. Eisenberg's performance earned him an Academy Award nomination.
The first movie chronicled the founding of Facebook, which officially launched in 2004 ahead of Zuckerberg's 30th birthday.
Deadline confirmed Strong, 46, is the top choice to play Zuckerberg in the sequel. The actor would join rumored cast members Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) and Mikey Madison (Anora), with White possibly portraying Horwitz and Madison as a whistleblower.
No formal offers have been made to cast members, according to Variety.
Strong is also known for his role as Roy Cohn in The Apprentice.

Twisted Spoke closing in West Town after 30 years
The Twisted Spoke, a mainstay bar of the West Town community, is closing its doors after 30 years. The owner of Twisted Spoke posted on the bar's official Facebook page Tuesday that they'll be closing their doors forever at the end of August. "Everything dies. Bars, rock'n'roll, reputations—even the hard men who built them. After 30 years of blood, grease, and bourbon, Twisted Spoke is grinding to a halt," the post reads. "The lease is up. Spend more time with family. Need to focus on my health and well-being. August 31st is the last ride. No more Fatboys. No more wings that could raise the dead. No more Road Rash Mary to cure your sins. 4 Whiskey Wednesdays left. 4 rooftop brunches in the blazing sun. That's it." Twisted Spoke, perched on the corner of Ogden and Grand, is known for its large selection of whiskey, an extensive bloody mary menu and its popular rooftop where you can eat and drinking while looking out over its iconic spinning motorcycle and skeleton rider. While the beloved bar may be closing, the owners seemed to signal on social media they're not quite done with the industry yet. "After that? We'll be sitting in the wreckage, chain-smoking and scheming. Bad ideas never die," they wrote.

Miranda's wax figure was unveiled Tuesday at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City. The statue is seen in Miranda's Alexander Hamilton costume. "Honestly, this is very strange," the actor and composer said Tuesday, according to Playbill. "It's a full day of head scans and eye scans, there's a lady who has a box full of eyeballs... She's flipping through the eyeballs looking for the one that most closely resembles your eyeball," he said, describing the process. "And I did all of this about a year ago. You pose for it a year in advance, and I've been waiting to see which one she picked. It's very Coraline." Jimmy Fallon hosted the ceremony. Miranda, 45, is also known for the Broadway musical In the Heights. He and other original Hamilton cast members reunited for a performance at the Tony Awards in June. Leslie Odom, Jr., will reprise his role of Aaron Burr in the musical for a limited time on Broadway beginning in September.
