DIGAWEL Curates a "Creative Class Uniform" for FW25

Hypebeasta day ago
For its FW25 collection, Japanese labelDIGAWELproposes a 'Creative Class Uniform,' borrowing influences from various realms including traditional prep, workwear, and easy loungewear.
DIGAWEL shared that 'the collection was inspired by a reconsideration of the scrapbooks we have accumulated over the years.' Through this lens, the brand reconstructed its archival inspirations with 'matured interpretation,' modernizing and improving upon classic styles and the brand's earlier concepts. 'We have thoroughly addressed the question of what kind of clothing is the brand's goal, which is to accompany you in your daily life,' the brand added.
DIGAWEL's latest lookbook reflects this eclectic approach, combining pieces into timeless numbers that balance formality with casualness, and elegance with utility. The first look is a fitting introduction to the range, led by a classic tan overcoat, baggy brown trousers, and a blue dress shirt, accented with a retro dad cap and red Pumas. Elsewhere, a two-piece check suit is paired with a baseball cap and black leather dress shoe, leaning into the Ivy sensibilities found throughout.
The brand continues its collaboration withBODHIthis season to offer a sweater and trousers using luxurious 100% cashmere knitted into a delicate 18-gauge knitted fabric. Additionally, a nylon puffer coat made in collaboration withF/CEboasts a rounded silhouette packed with added down.
See the gallery above for a full look at DIGAWEL FW25. The collection is set for release ahead of the season on theDIGAWEL webstore.

Jean Jullien's New NANZUKA Show Tends to the Inner Child in Us All

Summary In just a few days, French artistJean Jullienwill openJUJU's Castleat Shanghai'sNANZUKA ART INSTITUTE, marking his first solo exhibition in China. Equal parts art show and 'dungeon crawl,' as Jullien describes, the showcase features over 80 new paintings, sculptures, objects and large-scale installations, immersing viewers in the artist's whimsical inner worlds. Staged in a pastel-hued maze, visitors are cast as players in an imaginary quest, starting their journey by selecting one of four original characters to play as before embarking on the depths ofJUJU's Castle— a place born from Jullien's childhood memories and lifelong love of fantasy. Created during his stay in Tokyo, the featured paintings draw heavily from his life in the Japanese capital: scenes of busy roads and buildings that kiss the sky, the neon-lit screens ofgesenracing games and epic clashes between nights and samurai. 'Here it seems to me that fantasy has found myriad ways to invade reality, enhancing it, making it more dreamlike,' noted Jullien. 'This enchanted everyday seems like the perfect resistance to modern life.' As with all of Jullien's work, the show blends sincerity, nostalgia and joy with a profound concept of tranquility and escapism. The idea behind the castle emerged from sifting through his uncle's captain of hand-painted RPG miniatures as a kid, enchanted by the magic-wielding, dragon-slaying adventures they'd play out on-screen – a mental refuge he's held onto ever since. 'Years later, as the world seems more and more dire, I've decided to visit Juju's castle once more, and open its doors to the public.' Theexhibitionwill open on July 12 and will remain on view through October 26. NANZUKA ART INSTITUTE3F, Tower #1, HuaMu Time EditonNo.1, Lane 99, South Yanggao RoadPudong New Area, Shanghai

I tried M&S strawberry sandwich and Costa tiramisu cookie sandwich - one was a clear winner

You might have noticed that M&S have been shaking it up with a new viral strawberries and cream sandwich. The very British take on the Japanese sando has been EVERYWHERE on social media and in the news, not only in taste tests, with claims that it could land the retailer with a hefty VAT bill, but more on that later. They're so popular, it took me several attempts to find this summery sarnie on the shelves. Twice, I was greeted with a bare space and a sign saying "sorry, I'll be in soon" leaving me feeling like Cinderella over and over again. It was third time lucky when an early trip to the city centre store in Albert Street led to success. Coinciding with the day Costa Coffee unveiled its new summer menu with a tiramisu cookie sandwich, how could I possibly resist the temptation to put both to the test? READ MORE: 'I'm relieved the government isn't changing DWP rules on PIP - but I fear future cuts' READ MORE: Police issue statement on cause of Diogo Jota car crash that killed Liverpool star and brother I'm normally #teamstrawberry all the way, rather than tiramisu and chocolate, so I twisted the arm of colleague Josh Hartley, a self-confessed fan of sweet treats, for a second option. Here's what we thought: You might think it would be in the dessert section but it's found alongside the egg and cress and chicken sarnies in M&S. The limited edition summer treat consists of strawberries with sweetened cream cheese and crème fraîche, sandwiched between slice of white sweetened bread. Inspired by the Japanese-style fruit sandwiches, the M&S version is packaged like a sandwich, but rather than the usual two, it's just one priced £2.80. "It upsets me as an image. I just like strawberries and cream. The bread isn't helping. If this wasn't in a sandwich, which I know is the entire point, it would be nice. It's strange without being adventurous," says Josh. There's no denying the big juicy strawberries and cream are deliciously summery but I agree, the bread ruins it. It didn't seem to have the usual sweetness of brioche. They might be flying off the shelves and look good on your Insta but sorry, it's a resounding no from us. Perhaps if it was choux pastry like Birds Bakery's Pink Elephant's foot it might sway me, but that's getting away from the sandwich concept. It just seems a weird combination. And I certainly didn't like the crust. I prefer my sandos savoury, filled with prawn or chicken katsu, with thick white crustless bread as served by Nottingham's Japanese restaurant Kushi-ya. Meanwhile the debate rages on whether it's a sandwich, zero rated for VAT, or confectionary, viewed as non-essential and taxable. Financial experts claim the retailer could run into trouble with HMRC, which classifies anything sweet and eaten with fingers as subject to 20 per cent VAT. Unlike the strawberry sandwich, it hasn't broke the internet. Day one of going on sale, I didn't struggle to track one down in Costa Coffee's Friar Lane shop. It doesn't particularly stand out within the display of other sweet treats, blending in with the muffins and the chocolate and pistachio cookie sandwiches. If I'm being honest, it's not something I'd buy by choice. At £3.25 it's more expensive than the strawberry sandwich - probably because it is subject to VAT. Either my taste buds are having an off day or it's very bland. Perhaps I'm too accustomed to the traditional dessert, loaded with coffee and steeped in alcohol that whacks you in the face. While the cookies and cream combo is not unpleasant, it's not hitting the spot either. Josh agrees on the lack of flavour. His verdict: "I do like a cookie. I don't actually like tiramisu that much but I quite like this. Maybe that's why." Begrudgingly we crown it the winner but give me a simple bowl of strawberries and whipped cream any day for the true essence of summer.

Camper × Issey Miyake Peu Form Collaboration Hones in on Form and Fluidity

Summary Copenhagen-based footwear innovatorCamperis embarking on an exciting new chapter, launching its first footwear line in partnership withIssey Miyake, the distinguished Japanese house's women's line. Designed by Issey Miyake's Satoshi Kondo, this inaugural collection, named Peu Form, is a profound exploration of how a single piece of material can wrap and drape around the foot, bridging both brands' heritage with a pioneering spirit. At its core, the Peu Form collaboration reimagines Camper's iconic Peu family—known for its emphasis on natural foot movement—through Issey Miyake's foundational 'a piece of cloth' concept. This design philosophy, central to Issey Miyake's vision since 1971, explores the dynamic relationship, or 'ma' (unfilled space), between the wearer's body and the fabric. The result is a shoe that defies conventional garment design, offering a playful, sensuous, and organic silhouette that feels both universal and deeply innovative. For the Fall/Winter 2025 season, the Peu Form collection is introduced in two versatile styles: a slip-on shoe that cleverly doubles as a mule, and an ankle boot designed to envelop the foot like a second skin. Both styles are defined by their remarkable flexibility and unstructured construction, allowing them to adapt uniquely to each individual wearer. This innovative design also lends itself to easy, collapsible storage, enhancing their practicality for modern lifestyles. The Peu Form collaboration is offered in Black, White, Blue, and Red. The Camper x Issey Miyake Peu Form collection will be available from July 15, marking a global launch acrossCamperandIssey Miyakestores worldwide, selected retailers, and online at and Priced at $399 USD for the shoe and $530 USD for the boot, this collaboration celebrates originality, functionality and the artistry embedded in everyday life.
