Queen Camilla Made a Surprise Appearance at Wimbledon (and Wore Her Favorite Animal Print for the Occasion)
Another royal has made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon. This time around, it's Queen Camilla, who attended the quarter-final matchup between Belinda Bencic and Mirra Andreeva. Earlier in the day, she was seen meeting with All England Club chair Debbie Jevans and reportedly spoke with Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic. For the occasion, the Queen was spotted wearing a colorful animal print shirt dress from Fiona Clare, which she has previously been seen wearing on several occasions, including her visit to Australia last year. According to Buckingham Palace, which posted a short clip of the day's activities on its official Instagram, the Queen also met with lead groundsperson Will Brierley before the match began. They captioned the post, "What a day at @Wimbledon! Congratulations @djokernole on your Quarter Final success - and thank you to all at The Championships who work to deliver such a fantastic tournament each year." Visionhaus via Getty Images The comments also made note of Queen Camilla's vibrant dress, with one fan writing, "Queen Camila looks very friendly! Love the dress!" Another added, "I adore Djoki. And Camilla, she looked lovely." Visionhaus via Getty Images Queen Camilla isn't the only one who has made a surprise appearance during this year's Wimbledon. Last week, the Duchess of Gloucester was seen sharing a warm welcome with Kate Middleton's mom, Carole. On the first day of the tournament, Duchess Sarah Ferguson popped up with daughter Princess Beatrice to watch Carlos Alcaraz take on Fabio Fognini. It was just Duchess Fergie's third time attending the tournament after her first appearance with her best friend, Princess Diana, in the 1990s, and her second appearance in 2000. Let's keep the surprise royal appearances coming, please. Want all the latest entertainment news sent right to your inbox? Click here. Cameras Catch Kate Middleton's Mom Carole Sharing a Warm Welcome with a Surprise Royal at Wimbledon
Another member of the royal family has made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon. The royal in question? None other than the Duchess of Gloucester, who was seen sharing a warm welcome with Kate Middleton's mom, Carole. Both were dressed stylishly, with Carole wearing a striped pleated dress and the Duchess sporting a white blazer with a sophisticated brown clutch. Both appeared to be enjoying the matches, laughing and smiling throughout the day's events. And while the Duchess's Wimbledon showing was a welcome surprise, it's not the first unexpected pop-up from a royal to happen during this tournament. Karwai Tang/WireImage/Getty Images Duchess Sarah Ferguson also made a surprise appearance during the first day of the tournament with her daughter Princess Beatrice, sitting in the Royal Box as they watched defending men's singles champion Carlos Alcaraz take on Fabio Fognini. It was just Duchess Fergie's third time attending the tournament after her first appearance with her best friend, Princess Diana, in the 1990s, and her second appearance in 2000. Karwai Tang/WireImage/Getty Images As for the Duchess of Gloucester, it's good to see her getting some downtime after a busy period of work. According to the Royal Family's official website, "The Duchess of Gloucester is a full-time working member of the Royal Family" who "takes great pride in the work which she undertakes for her many charities and organizations." Karwai Tang/WireImage/Getty Images This includes supporting her husband, the Duke of Gloucester, in both the national and international events he attends throughout the year in support of the King and his duties as Head of State. We'll see if the rest of Wimbledon continues to bring more surprise appearances from the royal family. Want all the latest royal news sent right to your inbox? Click here. Kate Middleton Is a Vision in White During Surprise Solo Appearance at Wimbledon Finals
Princess Kate Middleton's appearances have been few and far between lately, as she slowly reenters public life after cancer treatment. However, there's one event she clearly didn't want to miss: Wimbledon. This Steamy Show About the Royals Just Hit Netflix's Top 10—and I Can't Wait to Watch WPA Pool/Pool/Getty Images She made an unexpected arrival at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon, London to see the Wimbledon women's singles final between Amanda Anisimova from the United States and France's Iga Świątek. She stunned with an ivory-colored, blazer-style top and a cream pleated skirt. The top was adorned with a purple and green bow, which are the signature colors of Wimbledon (the oldest tennis tournament in the world, BTW). According to Marie Clare, the ensemble was designed by Self Portrait, a brand she's known to love. WPA Pool/Pool/Getty Images She seemed in good spirits, smiling and waving to fans and spectators. She was accompanied by Debbie Jevans, a former tennis pro and the current All England Club chairwoman. Middleton's love of tennis is well-documented, as she's been known to watch countless matches from the Royal Box. She's also presented trophies to a number of winners at the end of the tournament. Mike Egerton/PA Images via Getty Images Hundreds upon hundreds of fans gathered in the grounds to see the princess, as she's been spending more time at home lately, recovering from her cancer battle. She's not the only royal who's been in attendance, though. Queen Camilla was at the quarter-final women's match in an animal print shirt dress from Fiona Clare. Princess Kate's mom, Carole, was also spotted in a striped, pleated dress, as were Duchess Sarah Ferguson and her daughter, Princess Beatrice.
