Steelers HC Mike Tomlin reveals his most anticipated training camp matchup

With the first week of Steelers training camp in the books, HC Mike Tomlin is excited for what lies ahead — particularly one matchup between an accomplished pass-catching running back and a great second-year linebacker. Following Sunday's practices at training camp, Tomlin shared which matchup he's looking forward to the most next week when pads come on — and it's the meeting of RB Kenneth Gainwell and LB Payton Wilson. "I like Kenny G versus Payton Wilson in routes," Tomlin told reporters. "Kenny G has shown a really good aptitude, from a route-running standpoint out of the backfield. Payton Wilson, in his second year, is a guy that's working to be dominant in that area. It's just one of those matchups that has my attention." Wilson was drafted with the 98th overall pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft — and make a strong impression during his rookie year with the Steelers. Gainwell, who spent the past four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, signed with Pittsburgh this offseason — a fantastic fit in a completely restructured Steelers running back room. All eyes will be on these two Steelers when training camp returns on Tuesday, July 29 — a showdown that clearly has the full attention of the longest-tenured NFL head coach. Report: Dolphins, Minkah Fitzpatrick agree to reworked deal

The Miami Dolphins and All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick agreed to a reworked contract, ESPN reported on Sunday. Fitzpatrick will receive a $16.435 million signing bonus and Miami will save $11 million against the 2025 salary cap, per the report. The Dolphins acquired Fitzpatrick from Pittsburgh last month in a trade that sent cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith to the Steelers. Fitzpatrick signed a four-year, $73.6 million extension with the Steelers in 2022 and hopes to eventually sign a long-term deal with Miami, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus. 'We are comfortable with this commitment to Minkah as we continue to work with the Dolphins on a multiyear extension,' Rosenhaus told ESPN on Sunday. Fitzpatrick, 28, is a five-time Pro Bowl and three-time All-Pro selection who launched his career in Miami as a first-round pick (11th overall) in the 2018 NFL Draft. Fitzpatrick recorded 96 tackles and one interception in 17 starts last season. He has 20 picks, 54 passes defensed and 608 tackles in 106 career games (101 starts) with the Dolphins (2018-19) and Steelers. Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved

Which summer league standouts will the Boston Celtics lean on in the regular season?

Which Las Vegas Summer League standouts will the Boston Celtics lean on in the NBA's 2025-26 regular season? The Sin City Celtics were a deep squad this year, and the players from the Summer Celtics still in Boston's orbit at this late date in the 2025 offseason have a shot at making some waves with real run at the NBA level if they make the most of the opportunities in front of them. Boston's three picks from the 2025 NBA Draft -- Hugo Gonzalez, Max Shulga, and Amari Williams -- will all likely see at least a little run with the parent club this coming campaign with some luck. And we ought to expect some real minutes for summer league vets Baylor Scheierman and Jordan Walsh. The folks behind the "NESN" YouTube channel put together a clip from their "Hold My Banner" show that took some time on a recent episode to talk it over. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about which summer league standouts ought to be worth following for Boston fans this season.
