Blackpink, the popular K-pop girl band, marked their much-awaited reunion with their highly anticipated world tour, Deadline, on July 5 in Seoul after a nearly two-year hiatus.
In July, the band performed shows in key cities such as Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, and New York.
During the Saturday show of their Deadline World Tour in New York City, the band members got a little emotional and chatted between songs as the crowd cheered them on.
Taking a moment to share their feelings with the fans, Blackpink's Rosé said that they were the first K-pop girl band to perform in New York's Citi Field stadium.
'It's such a privilege to be able to perform here. We're the first K-pop girl group to perform here in this city,' she said in an emotional address to the fans.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas were also present at Blackpink's New York concert on Saturday, according to their Instagram stories.
Fans were overjoyed to see the girl band reunited and enjoying a moment together. They hailed them as 'queens' and said the finale was 'perfect'.
'Blackpink record breakers always,' said a fan.
Another added, 'BLACKPINK, THE QUEENS.'
'The Pinks laughing and having fun! That's a perfect finale to a complete show. Everyone, artists and audience, goes home happy and fulfilled,' said a happy fan.
'It's so nice to see the Pinks so lighthearted, having fun together, enjoying what they've built,' they added.
After concluding the New York leg of the Deadline tour on Sunday, July 27, Blackpink will perform at:
Paris, France (August 2-3)
Barcelona, Spain (August 9)
London, UK (August 15-16)
Kaohsiung, Taiwan (August 18-19)
Bangkok, Thailand (October 24–26)

Bulacan, Philippines (November 22–23)
Singapore (November 29–30)
Tokyo, Japan (16-18 January 2026)
Hong Kong (24–25 January 2026)
Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are members of the famous K-pop group. Born Pink, their last album together, was released in 2022. Since then, all members have embarked on successful solo careers.
Blackpink has also been dropping major hints of a new single. While the band hasn't confirmed a release date yet, the anticipation among fans is rising.
Meanwhile, one of K-pop's other star groups, BTS, also announced plans to launch its first album in four years next spring.
The dual comebacks are expected to reignite global interest in the genre, providing a major boost to South Korea's music industry and signalling renewed momentum for K-pop after a relatively quiet period.

How travel turns strangers into friends

Friends just get you! Some grow up with you, others find their way to you on a road trip, a trek, or while waiting for hostel check-in. Think of Rani (played by Kangana Ranaut) in the movie Queen (2013), who stumbles into a friendship with Vijaylakshmi (Lisa Haydon) while wandering through Paris. Or the trio in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) (played by Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar), who set off for an adventurous escape and return with deeper bonds and lighter hearts. On Friendship Day today, we speak to people who made lifelong friends through travel — because nothing forges bonds like an adventure away from home. Lisa Haydon and Kangana Ranaut in a still from the film Queen, in which their characters developed an unexpected friendship From trail mates to soul sisters Sharanya Munsi met Dilshad during a snow trek to Brahmatal in 2019. Dilshad, a fashion designer from Goa, was travelling with friends, while Sharanya—a seasoned solo trekker—was used to going it alone. Sharanya Munsi and Dilshad 'We instantly connected and stayed in touch through Instagram,' Sharanya recalls. A trail-side chat sparked a lasting friendship, deepened by shared pets, K-dramas, and long talks across cities. During COVID, Dilshad even designed Sharanya's bridal face masks. 'She's one of the first people I call when I need help with trip logistics,' Sharanya says. 'We may live far apart, but she's become a comfort and constant outside of my usual circles.' Travel companions for life In May 2019, Kanika Yadav from Faridabad travelled to Ladakh with childhood friend Shubham Dhupar, joined by his friend Rahul Grover and colleague Gagandeep Kaur, strangers to her then. The group calls themselves 'travel companions for life.' 'We were all at crossroads in our lives, and I had never met the other two before,' she recalls. But the mountains had plans of their own. On the trip, Kanika and Rahul bonded and stayed in touch abroad, turning friendship into love; they married in 2023. Meanwhile, Gagandeep and Shubham also grew close and tied the knot this February. 'Despite all the distance and change, one trip gave me my husband, brought my best friend his partner, and made us all each other's chosen people,' says Kanika. Today, the group calls themselves 'travel companions for life.' A birthday changed everything Shivani Relia (28), from Delhi, never expected her solo birthday trip to Udaipur in 2021 to lead to a lifelong friendship. Shivani Relia and Shruti Sharma She had checked into Zostel early and was waiting in the café when she struck up a conversation with Shruti Sharma (34) from Bangalore, who was also travelling solo. 'We just started talking, and everything clicked,' says Shivani. Four years later, they're still in touch and now planning a trip to the Rann of Kutch. 'Some friendships just feel easy from the start,' Shivani adds. Work trip turned to family Pamela Gupta (25) and Tejashee Kashyap (27), both from Delhi, worked in the same industry, but their paths only crossed during a work trip to Egypt. 'It started as the usual work dynamic, but it felt like we had known each other for years. We clicked instantly and began travelling together soon after,' recalls Pamela. Four countries later, their bond has only grown stronger. They've found a rhythm despite their contrasting personalities. 'We may not agree on everything, but that's the beauty of this friendship; we hold space for each other,' Pamela reflects. Today, even their mothers are close friends. She adds, We can't go a day without checking in. We're practically family now.'

Arjan Bajwa recalls losing his father just before Fashion; sensing Priyanka Chopra's stress over her father's cancer diagnosis: ‘Ashokji was a very nice man'

Actor Arjan Bajwa recently appeared on SCREEN's Dear Me Season 2. Reflecting on his 25-year journey, he recalled being offered Fashion just three months after losing his father. Arjan also opened up about his bond with co-star Priyanka Chopra, sharing that he could sense the pressure she was under following her father's cancer diagnosis. Talking about working on the Madhur Bhandarkar film, Arjan Bajwa said, 'In a very unfortunate accident, I had lost my father three months before (Fashion), and I was not sure if I wanted to come back to Mumbai and work in the movies again. Till then, I had done some work, but after some time, when things got a little normal at home, I decided to return. While I was in Delhi, I got a call from Madhur Bhandarkar's office, and they asked me to come and meet with them whenever I was in Mumbai. Two writers on the film were my friends. Madhurji knew me from before, and by then, I knew that Priyanka Chopra was doing the film. So I went and met them.' Also Read: 'Priyanka Chopra's father was diagnosed with cancer but she never showed vulnerability, broke down': Arjan Bajwa recalls Fashion co-star's strength Arjan revealed that he was not in the right headspace at the time of Fashion. He said, 'I knew Priyanka from much before the film. The first time we met for the film was when Madhur sir had organized a dinner for the entire team at a hotel in Juhu. That meeting was good, but honestly, I was in a confused state at that time. My conscience was stuck because I had gone through such a tragedy at home. I was meeting everybody nicely, but I couldn't feel anything. Inside my heart, I was hurting; I was not in the right headspace. I was in my own space at that time.' During the interaction, Arjan Bajwa also spoke about his Fashion co-star Priyanka Chopra. 'Priyanka Chopra had once told me that she was not aware who was being cast, and at some point I had given them my audition for Gulaal, and she told me the entire team was watching some film at a theater in Andheri. When she asked who was cast for Manav's role, they showed her the Gulaal audition in the parking lot of the theater on a laptop. Later on, she told me she loved the audition, it was fantastic.' A post shared by SCREEN (@ieentertainment) Arjan Bajwa lastly revisited the day he and Priyanka Chopra bonded over their respective dads. He recalled, 'On set, Priyanka and I bonded over talking about our dads. Priyanka's father had been diagnosed with cancer at that time. Just 3-4 months back, my father had passed away, and we were just sitting and chit-chatting on the set one day. We started discussing our respective fathers. I told her my story, she was telling me her story, and I could feel the pressure she also had about her father's health, and how things were going to be. What would happen? I used to meet her father, Ashokji; he was a very nice man and very cordial, He would be very nice to me, but destiny has its plans.' On the work front, Arjan will be next seen in the Taiwanese film Demon Hunters. Josh Brolin on why he is uncertain about sequel to The Goonies

Washington DC [US], August 3 (ANI): Hollywood actor Josh Brolin shared why he is uncertain about a sequel to the 1985 adventure comedy film, 'The Goonies'. Brolin explained his hesitation toward a potential follow-up and what it would take to get him onboard during the premiere of Zach Cregger's much-anticipated horror film 'Weapons', reported Deadline. "I hope it does [happen] because the experience was so great," he said, adding, "The movie is received so well, generation after generation. It's just everything good about it. The trepidation I have is that you might release something else that taints it. I don't want to taint what my memory of it is." The Oscar nominee shared about what the sequel's storyline would entail, given the fact that its release would come over four decades after the 1985 debut of the classic adventure comedy about a group of misfit kids hunting treasure in a bid to save their house from foreclosure, according to Deadline. "It's like, 'Oh, we came out with another,' and then the Goonies grew up, and then they came out with their walkers, and then they fell off a cliff because they couldn't see very well, like, what are you going to do? I don't know. Maybe it could be great. If it's great, you'll know, like if story writer Steven Spielberg approves it, you know it's going to be good. But I think there have been five scripts so far through the years, and he hasn't approved anything yet -- so me being picky, Spielberg is picky, and he has a reason to be because he has great taste," said the actor. 'The Goonies' is a 1985 adventure comedy film directed and co-produced by Richard Donner from a screenplay by Chris Columbus based on a story by Steven Spielberg and starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Kerri Green , Martha Plimpton, and Ke Huy Quan with John Matuszak, Robert Davi, Joe Pantoliano, and Anne Ramsey in supporting roles. 'The Goonies 2 'is in the works at Warner Bros., and Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario will produce for Amblin Entertainment alongside original scribe Chris Columbus, with Lauren Shuler Donner executive producing. Potsy Ponciroli is writing the screenplay for the sequel. Plot details are currently under wraps, according to Deadline. (ANI)
