5 Browns players who could star in the Olympics flag football team
The NFL officially announced that players could participate in the Olympics as part of the 5-on-5 flag football team. The league has been preparing its game for a global audience, and the Olympics is the perfect stage for the game. Of course, flag football doesn't capture the brutal physicality of the game, but it could capture most of the grace. The games will be played on 50-yard fields, and they will feature a women's event as well. Each team will have ten players on their roster.
Fans of the Browns will likely see players participate in the Olympics. The team has a deep global representation, especially in Africa. Last year, the Browns were granted international marketing rights in Nigeria as part of the NFL's Global Marketing Program. The Browns will also play an away game in London, England, in 2025. The 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles will be an important event for the sport. The NFL wants to put its best foot forward. Here are five Browns players who could play in the Olympics.
1. David Njoku
David Njoku was meant to be in the Olympics. The stylish playmaker could suit up for the United States or Nigeria. Njoku will be celebrating his 32nd birthday during the 2028 Olympics. Njoku would be a real threat in the passing game. His combination of size and speed should make him a super weapon against the amateur athletes he'll see in the Olympics.
2. Denzel Ward
Denzel Ward is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. He'll be 31 years old during the 2028 Olympics. In my opinion, he's the most dynamic cornerback in the NFL. His movement skills, agility, and speed are unrivaled at the position. His footwork in press coverage disrupts opposing receivers. Ward is usually attached to the hip of the receiver he's covering. The finesse style of flag football would help accentuate what Ward does best.
3. Jerry Jeudy
Jerry Jeudy is one of the most electric route runners in the sport. Jeudy is a kinetic mover who makes violent cuts across the field. Last season, Jeudy proved he can be one of the most dangerous receiving threats in the league. His deep speed makes him a threat to score anytime. Jeudy's play style would stand out in flag football. He'll be 29 years old during the 2028 Olympics.
4. Ogbo Okoronkwo
Ogbo Okoronkwo is a solid bet for the Olympics. While the event is 5-on-5, teams still need a pass rusher and a center. The center is an eligible receiver after the snap. Okoronkwo was born in Gainesville, Florida, but has developed many global connections. He's quietly one of the best ambassadors in football. Okoronkwo has worked with NFL International over the past few years and hopes to work in their London headquarters after he retires. Okoronkwo will be in the twilight years of his career during the 2028 Olympics.
5. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah would be the perfect rusher in flag football. There are few linebackers in NFL history with his urgency, agility, and quickness. His diverse skill set makes him a great coverage player and a dangerous blitzer. It's hard for me to believe that Owusu-Koramoah's playing career could be over. He was one of the most impressive Browns' defenders on a team full of freaks. Hopefully, Owusu-Koramoah can recover from his mysterious spine injury. He's still dedicated to the sport. He founded a global nonprofit organization, Natural Knowledge Wisdom Advancement (NKWA), which uses American football to promote the values of unity, abundance, and vitality. The organization primarily works in West Africa, but has expanded into the Middle East, the West Indies, and the United States. Owusu-Koramoah is one of the best global ambassadors in the sport. I'm sure he'll find a way to the Olympics as a player or a coach.

Chiefs Expected To Return To 'Free-Wheeling' Offense In 2025

Chiefs Expected To Return To 'Free-Wheeling' Offense In 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs' offense in 2025, for most, has a couple of question marks around it, one being the offensive line, but also, can Patrick Mahomes' weapons stay healthy? The drop-off in production last season could be attributed to a host of things, but the main reason was that Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown both missed significant chunks of time due to injury and never were on the field together. That should change. The run game with Isiah Pacheco has also been in the spotlight with the running back fighting back from injury last season, but when he returned, he failed to produce as we know he can. When looking at the Chiefs' "triplets" as CBS Sports' Jared Dubin calls them, of Mahomes, Rice, and Pacheco, when ranking all 32 teams' top three weapons, Dubin has Kansas City at No. 5. "This is the lowest the Chiefs have ranked since Mahomes' first season as the starter," Dubin writes. "They've were ninth prior to his debut, and have since checked in second, first, first, second, fourth, second and first before falling to fifth this season. If you ask me, it's too low. "People are ascribing a drop-off to the team that, in my opinion, was caused by offensive line play and injuries (to both Pacheco and the entire wide receiver corps). I think we see Kansas City get back to a more free-wheeling, wide-open offense this season and jump back near the top of the rankings a year from now." There's every reason to suggest that we will see a significant bounce-back from Andy Reid's offense this upcoming season. Yes, they still won 15 games last year, but we don't expect that to happen again. But what we do expect is for the offense to score more than 22.6 points per game (ranked 15th), and for Mahomes to average more than 245 passing yards per game. If his weapons are healthy, both should see a serious uptick in improvement. Many are doubting the Chiefs in 2025, with some thinking they are about to fall off the proverbial cliff, but with a top-five offensive trio in their ranks, we bet they might just surprise a few people this season. Matthew Stafford's return named most impactful move in 2025 offseason

The Los Angeles Rams could have had a completely different 2025 outlook if Matthew Stafford decided not to return to the team. While there were rumors that the quarterback would want to leave without a pay raise, Stafford ultimately signed a new deal with the team to remain in L.A. The decision had a ripple effect on the Rams and the rest of the league, as teams who were interested in Stafford had to look elsewhere while the Rams could focus the rest of the offseason on finding talent to add around him. Therefore, it shouldn't be a surprise that CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan named Stafford's return as the most impactful move of the 2025 NFL offseason. With Stafford, L.A. is in the Super Bowl conversation thanks to the continued presence of Sean McVay, along with an emerging defense. Without him, the Rams likely would've been forced to look at other options like Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Rodgers, or some draft prospect. Regardless of who would've been under center, Los Angeles would've been categorically worse and nowhere close to the Super Bowl ceiling it currently possesses. Stafford is the tide that raises all boats in L.A. Why do you think the Rams immediately turned around and won a Super Bowl the year he joined the team? In any event, the Rams have their short-term plan at quarterback locked in for at least 2025, and they'll continue to push all the chips into the middle of the table to try and bring home another Lombardi Trophy before Stafford's time in the NFL is up.

Cam Heyward: T.J. Watt needs to get paid, finish his career as a one-helmet guy

T.J. Watt does not have a contract extension yet. The last time the Steelers edge rusher was unhappy with his deal — in 2021 — he did not participate in practice to avoid injury. Watt ended up signing a four-year, $112 million extension three days before the start of the season. This time, talks are dragging out, too, though Watt is expected to get a deal that will hope the $40 million annual average of Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett. Teammate Cam Heyward weighed in on Watt's contract situation during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. 'Man, that's my brother. I want that dude to get paid what he deserves,' Heyward said. 'That dude is one of the most fierce and best players in our league and he's respected throughout the league. . . . I've had the best time being able to play with him, and I hope this year is not the last time we play together because that dude, that's my running mate. We've created a lot of havoc together, and I just want to see that guy continue to be a Pittsburgh Steeler and be a one-helmet guy.' The Steelers reportedly have done their 'due diligence' by inquiring as to Watt's trade value. 'I'm going up to [Steelers General Manager] Omar [Khan] and I'm telling him, 'That's not happening,'' Heyward said. 'If there's even a trade that gets up there, I don't think it helps our team to trade a guy like that.' Watt, 30, led the league in sacks three of the previous five seasons, including matching the NFL's all-time single-season record (22.5) in 2021. He is a seven-time Pro Bowler and a four-time All-Pro.
