WWE SummerSlam 2025 Predictions: All Superstars who can Win in Day 1
This weekend in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, WWE SummerSlam 2025 will kick off its historic two-night event. For the first time, the company's blockbuster summer show is being split over two days, a WrestleMania-style event.
Day 1 establishes the mood for what is anticipated to be one of the all-time great SummerSlams and heated grudge matches.
CM Punk eyes the World Heavyweight Championship
The most anticipated match of the night, CM Punk challenges Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. Punk is the favorite to take home gold, having earned this spot by winning a gauntlet match earlier this month. And if he does win, it would pave the way for a coming showdown with a return-to-form Seth Rollins.
For months, Gunther has been a powerhouse, but perhaps tonight is the night the reign ends.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill could steal the show
A confrontation of raw power and undeniable charisma, Jade Cargill challenges Tiffany Stratton for her Women's Championship. As one of the breakout stars of the year, Stratton hardly has an easy road, yet Cargill is being simultaneously booked to powerfully close the distance to hallowed ground. Stratton has the odds-on favorite to retain, but if WWE wants a change in the division, then Cargill can leave with the title.
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso team up against the future
Jey Uso joins Roman Reigns in returning to action in a tag team match against the intense pairing of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Breakker and Reed are the future of WWE, but the prevailing wisdom is that the chemistry and main-event experience of Reigns and Uso will give them the win. It should be all four superstars working hard for this one, but expect the veterans to get the win here.
All predicted winners for Night One of SummerSlam 2025
Here are the top predictions for Night One outcomes:
CM Punk to defeat Gunther and become the new World Heavyweight Champion
Tiffany Stratton to retain her Women's Championship, though it could go either way
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso to overcome Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed
Randy Orton & Jelly Roll to beat Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre in a celebrity-tag match
Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss to win the Women's Tag Team Titles from Judgment Day

Is a Michael Jordan vs LeBron James match coming? MrBeast drops huge hint live on stream with Adin Ross
YouTube legend MrBeast might be planning the internet's biggest basketball showdown yet, and it involves LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and the decades-old GOAT debate that just won't die. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A casual chat with streamer Adin Ross has now spiraled into full-blown fan speculation, after MrBeast floated the ultimate "what if": LeBron vs Jordan. One-on-one. Winner takes bragging rights for eternity. MrBeast dreams up the ultimate basketball showdown During a casual chat with streamer Adin Ross, MrBeast floated an idea that instantly blew up: what if he could somehow get MJ and LeBron on the same court, battling it out in a 1v1 matchup that would finally settle the NBA's GOAT debate? This wasn't just another random hypothetical. MrBeast cited inspiration from his own viral hit, where Cristiano Ronaldo played a fan one-on-one for a million dollars. So naturally, his mind went bigger. 'Imagine getting LeBron and MJ, but with some sort of handicap for LeBron,' he joked. The internet goes crazy over the possibility By the next day, the internet was on fire. Reddit threads exploded. X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with memes. TikTokers made their own mock edits of what the matchup could look like, complete with slow-mo entrances and over-the-top commentary. Some called it the 'most viral video of all time' before it even existed. Others argued it'd be a bloodbath. Debates weren't just about who would win, but whether the two legends would even say yes. Could this actually happen? Probably not… but maybe? MrBeast admitted the odds are slim. 'They'd never do it,' he said, half-laughing. But fans are still dreaming. And let's not forget: Jordan and LeBron have each dipped into Hollywood before. Maybe it's not a real 1v1, maybe it's a Space Jam-style cameo in one of MrBeast's upcoming mega-projects? Whether it's hoops or hijinks, one thing's clear: MrBeast just added fresh fuel to the GOAT fire. Even the idea of this video has fans imagining thumbnails, plot twists, and thumbnails again. For now, it's just a viral "what if." But if you see Jordan lacing up and LeBron holding a YouTube trophy... don't say we didn't warn you.

John Cena questions Brock Lesnar's motives following shocking WWE return
In a shocking turn of events for fans around the world, Brock Lesnar returned unexpectedly at WWE SummerSlam 2025. His appearance was right after the main event, as was speaking to the fans, which many are calling his last SummerSlam ever. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Lesner walked to the ring without saying a thing, looked Cena in the eye, and left just as quickly as he had come, leaving the WWE Universe and Cena himself wondering what happened out of nowhere. Seemingly after finishing one of the most covered farewell tours in recent memory, John Cena didn't take the moment sitting down and just say goodbye. While they didn't exactly lay hands on each other, it wasn't the friendly rapport that fans had hoped for between two legends. Meanwhile, in a post-show press conference, Cena "responded" to the incident, taking a bit of a shot at Lesnar's habit of returning only when it benefits him and that he may not be simply entertaining the fans with his return this time around. A dozen appearances left before John Cena calls it a career 3x World Heavyweight Championship winner John Cena's retirement from the ring isn't until December 2025, so for now, he is focused on providing a few highlights for the fans watching at home. Many believed SummerSlam 2025 was the final match Cena would ever wrestle, so Lesnar's coming back was also a huge symbolic blow. In a reflective moment during his interview, Cena shared: 'I've been saying the same thing for 25 years. They deal 'em, I play 'em. You know, I'm just really excited. We got like 12 of these things left. I think SummerSlam was an indication from the audience where everybody kind of knows where we're closing our book. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now And just because I close my book in December, that doesn't mean the WWE closes its books. They got to continue their programming going forward. So they're just trying to make the most exciting shows for the fans. A dozen of them I got left. They deal 'em, I play 'em.' What's next: A retirement match or something bigger? Now that John Cena and Brock Lesnar are front-and-centre once again, there's speculation that WWE is working towards a huge retirement match, possibly as soon as Survivor Series or Crown Jewel. While no one knows what Lesnar is up to, the fact that he is there seems to indicate something big is in the works. Also Read: We are in the Spring season of WWE that leads into SummerSlam, and whether this is a final clash of titans or a passing of the torch, there's sure to be fireworks in the weeks to come. We can be certain that Brock Lesnar will never return without a reason.
