Arada targets Dh15b in 2025 sales amid soaring demand for premium homes

Arada is forecasting a record-breaking year in 2025, setting its sights on Dh15 billion in full-year sales as demand for high-end residential property continues to gain momentum across the UAE. The Sharjah-based master developer reported Dh9.15 billion in sales during the first half of the year, more than tripling its performance from the same period in 2024 and marking a 336 per cent year-on-year increase. The strong half-year results were driven by a surge in interest in Arada's communities in both Dubai and Sharjah, where a total of 2,382 homes were sold during the first six months of 2025 — up 247 per cent from the same period last year. Among the top-performing projects were Akala, a wellness-focused residential destination launched in Dubai in May, and Masaar 2 in Sharjah, a 2,000-unit villa and townhouse development that sold out within three hours of its February launch. Buoyed by this momentum, Arada aims to launch three more large-scale developments before the end of 2025, adding nearly 5,000 new homes to its growing portfolio. The developer is also on track to deliver 2,000 completed homes by year-end, reflecting a balanced focus on both off-plan sales and project handovers. Property market experts said Arada's projected sales target of Dh15 billion would mark its highest annual sales figure since inception—underscoring both the brand's market positioning and the sustained strength of the UAE's property sector. Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, executive vice chairman of Arada, attributed the company's success to its long-term vision and commitment to building people-centric communities. 'We have always believed that when people and spaces connect with purpose, the results can be transformational,' he said. 'The exceptional performance we've seen in the first half of the year proves that a people-first strategy delivers consistent and meaningful value for residents and investors.' Group CEO Ahmed Alkhoshaibi said Arada's growth strategy includes both domestic and international expansion. 'We're building on the excellent sales results from the first half by introducing new projects across the UAE in the second half of the year. At the same time, we're preparing to launch our first ventures in Australia, and continue to explore new partnerships and opportunities globally.' Earlier this month, Arada further strengthened its financial base by successfully completing a $450 million sukuk issuance, its second visit to global debt capital markets in recent years. The company's strong performance is aligned with broader trends in the UAE property market. In Sharjah, the value of property transactions rose by 48 per cent in the first half of 2025 to Dh27 billion, according to figures from the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department. In Dubai, real estate sales reached Dh431 billion over the same period, up 25 per cent year-on-year, reflecting the city's continued appeal to both regional and international buyers. Since its founding in 2017, Arada has launched nine major projects in Sharjah and Dubai and currently holds a pipeline of developments in the UAE and Australia valued at more than Dh90 billion. To date, the company has sold over 17,000 residential units valued at more than Dh29 billion and has completed more than 10,000 homes.

Read- The agreement aims to streamline and regulate parking access around mosques, particularly during prayer times, by assigning 2,100 parking spaces across 59 sites in Dubai for joint operation under a revenue-sharing model, Free parking during prayers As part of the first phase of the agreement, Parkin will manage and operate these designated mosque parking areas on behalf of IACAD. Notably, worshippers will be able to park free of charge for one hour during scheduled prayer times, ensuring more equitable access to mosques during peak worship periods. Outside prayer times, the parking spaces will follow Dubai's paid parking structure and remain operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These areas will be categorized as Zone M (standard) and Zone MP (premium), with 41 sites under Zone M and 18 under Zone MP. Operational rollout is expected to begin in August 2025. Supporting Dubai's smart mobility vision Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, highlighted the significance of the partnership in aligning with Dubai's vision of smart city infrastructure. 'The signing of this agreement reflects our strong commitment to providing a comprehensive parking service around mosques,' said Al Muhairi. 'It enhances the experience of worshippers during and beyond prayer times while supporting the Dubai government's vision for proactive, smart mobility services that serve all members of society.' Expanding Parkin's private portfolio This deal will increase Parkin's total private parking portfolio to 20,800 spaces, strengthening its role in Dubai's growing urban infrastructure sector. Parkin CEO Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali described the initiative as 'pioneering' and community-focused. 'This collaboration prioritises worshipper access and minimizes misuse by non-visitors. We are targeting a rollout in August and are optimistic about how this initiative will enhance efficiency and accessibility at mosques across Dubai,' Al Ali stated. Scalable model for future mosques Looking ahead, both organisations indicated that the initiative could scale to include more mosque sites under IACAD's supervision. The move is part of a broader mission to integrate mosque services into Dubai's smart infrastructure strategy. Mohammed Musbeh Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector at IACAD, added that the partnership supports ongoing efforts to improve mosque facility management, including better maintenance oversight, environmental readiness, and access control. 'This is a significant addition to our enforcement and supervision system. It enhances access and supports a more efficient, worshipper-friendly environment around mosques,' he said.

UAE Gender Balance Council restructured to boost equality drive

The UAE Cabinet on Thursday approved changes to the country's Gender Balance Council in support of a major drive to provide equal opportunities. The Cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, agreed a resolution to reorganise the body in an effort to expand its scope and strengthen its role in shaping legislation and guiding decision-making. The UAE Gender Balance Council was established in May 2015 with the remit of ensuring Emirati women play a leading role in the development of the country and to help the Emirates become a global leader in championing equal rights. Reporting directly to the Cabinet, the council's key functions include proposing and reviewing legislation, policies and programmes to achieve gender balance in the workplace. The council is expected to develop frameworks to measure progress and conduct specialised studies domestically and globally. The resolution included the restructuring of the membership of the council, which is chaired by Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed. The new-look council comprises Mona Al Marri, Vice President; Younis Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance; Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy; Omar Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Huda Al Hashimi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs; Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the General Women's Union; Reem Al Falasi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood; Faisal Al Muhairi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources; Hanan Mansour Ahli, Managing Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre; Khalid Al Harmoodi, Assistant Secretary General for Cabinet Affairs Support; Hessa Tahlak, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Community Development; and Ahmed Al Nasser, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Market Policies at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Sheikha Manal, also president of the council, praised the UAE government for prioritising gender balance as a national goal. She said the council will redouble its efforts to bolster equality and work closely with the government and private sector to fulfil its mission. She hailed the outstanding contributions already being made by Emirati women across a range of sectors. Making strides The UAE has taken significant steps to empower Emirati women and provide a platform for progress. The UAE made the decision in December 2018 to ensure that 50 per cent of the Federal National Council – the country's consultative parliamentary body – would be women. Meanwhile, more than a quarter of ministers serving in the UAE Cabinet are now women. Women also constitute 46 per cent of Stem – science, technology, engineering and mathematics – graduates in the UAE and 80 per cent of the scientific leadership team in the Emirates Mars Mission. In September, the UAE issued a directive requiring private companies to ensure female representation on boards of directors to bolster gender equality efforts. The move, announced by the Ministry of Economy, was aimed at private joint-stock companies and came into force in January. Such companies are businesses owned by their investors and require a board of directors to oversee operations. In March 2024, the UAE was ranked seventh on a global list of nations for efforts to promote gender equality on the Gender Inequality Index, which is part of a UN human development report. Bridging the gap The global gender gap has closed at its fastest rate since the Covid-19 pandemic, but parity could be as much as 123 years away, a World Economic Forum report issued in June found. WEF's Global Gender Gap Report 2025 revealed improvements had been made to remove barriers to progress for women but much work was still to be done.
