You may have figured as much based on the complete lack of Motorola Edge 60 Ultra information in the public space right now, but interestingly enough, Evan Blass claims there's "definitely" an Edge 70 Ultra in the pipeline.
Unfortunately, we have no idea how this undoubtedly ultra-powerful device will look and exactly what specs it could offer, but there's clearly a good chance it'll resemble the "vanilla" Edge 70 surprisingly leaked last month . If Motorola doesn't radically revise its product launch schedule, the new family of "edgy" Android smartphones is likely to only see daylight next year, which makes these rumors... kind of weird and totally premature.

as the top dog of the 2025 Edge lineup.
What's also undeniably bizarre is that the company apparently doesn't plan to release a sequel for last year's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3-powered Edge 50 Ultra , leaving the MediaTek Dimensity 8350-based Edge 60 Pro as the top dog of the 2025 Edge lineup.
. That... would be pretty weird as well, but Motorola is certainly not the most conventional or predictable Android handset vendor out there anyway.
Of course, you also have to consider the possibility that the Edge 70 and Edge 70 Ultra will come out by the end of this year to better compete against the likes of Apple's iPhone 17 series and Samsung's Galaxy S25 FE . That... would be pretty weird as well, but Motorola is certainly not the most conventional or predictable Android handset vendor out there anyway.
If real, it would definitely be nice if the Edge 70 Ultra could return Motorola to a two-model US launch strategy too after the mid-range Edge (2024) and Edge (2025) landed without higher-end Plus siblings. But I'm clearly getting ahead of myself here when there are so many basic details we still don't know about the company's future "international" Edge devices.
If it feels like something is still missing from Motorola's expansivehandset portfolio, I may have some bad news for you today... and some (relatively) good news. According to one of the most prolific and quite possiblymost trustworthy mobile tech leaker out there , the "regular" Edge 60 Pro , and Edge 60 Fusion "might" not get an Ultra sibling.

Jury says Google must pay for using cellular data from Android users to collect their personal info

This data was used to help Google send more targeted advertising to Android users and also expand Google's mapping capabilities. As you might expect, Google disagrees with the verdict and plans to appeal. The suit was originally filed back in 2019 in Santa Clara Superior Court on behalf of California residents. A parallel case in federal court is coming up and will be heard in early 2026 for nationwide Android users. The plaintiffs said, "While Plaintiffs' Android devices were in their purses and pockets, and even while sitting seemingly idle on Plaintiffs' nightstands as they slept, Google's Android technology appropriated cellular data paid for by Plaintiffs—without Plaintiffs' knowledge or consent—to send Google all sorts of information. These "passive" information transfers occur because Google has programmed its Android operating system and Google applications to cause mobile devices to provide enormous amounts of information to Google, much of which Google uses to further its own corporate interests, including targeted digital advertising." The complaint noted that less information is sent through passive transfers on iOS because iPhones give users more control over this type of activity. Google's José Castañeda said, "This ruling is a setback for users, as it misunderstands services that are critical to the security, performance, and reliability of Android devices." Castañeda explains that the whole thing was a misunderstanding as Google needed to make the aforementioned data transfers to keep up the performance of billions of Android phones around the world. He noted that these transfers take up less cellular data than a single photo. -Part of the complaint filed by the plaintiffs As for not getting permission from Android users, Castañeda said that Android users do consent to the transfers by agreeing to multiple terms of service agreements and device setting options. Marc Wallenstein, a lawyer representing the consumers, said, "We are incredibly grateful for the jury's verdict, which forcefully vindicates the merits of this case and reflects the seriousness of Google's misconduct." The case is Csupo v. Alphabet Inc., 19CV352557, California Superior Court, Santa Clara County. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Motorola's next big launch is set for next week

The Moto G96 is the next major device coming from Motorola. The US based company has just confirmed that the phone that we told you about last week will be officially introduced in India on July upcoming smartphone is Motorola's top-of-the-line Moto G series phone, which is mirrored in the device's specs. Just like many of Motorola's mid-range handsets, the Moto G96 offers fans the option to pick up a premium-like version that features a faux leather back panel. Now, Motorola hasn't yet revealed all the Moto G96's specs, but many of them are listed on the phone's dedicated page at Flipkart. For example, the US-based handset maker confirmed the phone's 6.67-inch curved pOLED display features 144Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. We also know the Moto G96 is powered by a mid-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. Motorola confirmed the Moto G96 packs 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory. A cheaper version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage will be available too. As far as the camera goes, the most important details revealed by Motorola include a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C sensor housed by the main camera, as well as a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. The phone has a dual camera, but there's no information about the second one. The best part is that the Moto G96 comes with a pretty decent 5,500 mAh battery, which promises up to 35 hours of talk time, 32 hours of video playback, or 119 hours of music. We were surprised to see that Motorola will only offer three years of security updates for the Moto G96. Although the US-based company typically offers two/three years of OS updates and three/four years of security updates, Motorola made some important steps toward increasing the software support period it offers to its first smartphone to receive five years of OS updates and five years of security patches, Moto Edge 50 Neo, was launched back in September, so we thought every other phone launched by Motorola will follow the new policy, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Motorola Moto G96 will be available in four Pantone colors | Image credit: Motorola Motorola is one of the very few companies that uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, which means very little competition for the Moto G96. Unless you don't mind getting a similar mid-range phone but powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200/7300 processor, which nearly the same when it comes to are quite a few mid-range phones that match the description, such as the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro, Redmi Note 14 Pro, Infinix Note 50x, Nothing Phone (2a), and Motorola Edge 50 Neo. Even the Moto G86, one of the phones announced back in May and is expected to hit shelves in July, is using a MediaTek 7300 chipset. Basically, it all comes down to how much the Moto G96 will cost, something that we'll hopefully find out soon because Motorola is still mum on the matter. A budget Samsung Galaxy foldable is definitely happening this year

Samsung fans are preparing for the Galaxy Unpacked event that will be held on the 9th of this month. But, besides the long-awaited Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, there is now almost no doubt that a budget foldable called the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is also coming. Accessory maker Spigen accidentally listed cases for the Flip 7 FE, promptly removing them soon after. The listings were noticed by Android Central, which managed to get screenshots of the Google results before the pages disappeared. This basically confirms that the FE is happening this year, likely slated to be unveiled alongside the Flip 7 and Fold 7 in a few days from now. The inclusion of the number in the name also suggests that it's going to become a yearly tradition, and isn't just a one-off. Leaked Flip 7 renders — which also included the FE — show that the Flip series is ditching the camera cutout in favor of more screen real estate. However, the FE will resemble the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The FE series may just become a repackaged older Galaxy clamshell with a better chip inside. Google results showed Spigen's Flip 7 FE case listing. | Image credit — Android Central If previous reports are to be believed, the Flip 7 FE will cost around $736, if U.S. tariffs don't end up inflating the price Stateside. The phone will also be powered by Samsung's own 3 nm Exynos 2500 chip, which will also be present in the standard Flip 7 . After failing to get it ready on time for the Galaxy S25 series, it's time for Samsung to show the world what Exynos can do. For those who want the best of the best, the Fold 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Furthermore, Samsung has reportedly improved the crease, and also made so many other technical improvements that the Fold 7 makes the Fold 6 look ancient. The Flip 7 itself, though sharing the same chip as the FE, will have bigger displays and better cameras. If you can stretch your budget by $100, the recently released Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is also an excellent alternative to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. It's got a bigger battery as well as a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. However, if you can't live without Samsung's One UI, or just really need the seven years of updates, then the Flip 7 FE is the correct choice. One of the reasons that the foldable industry has been in a decline is the fact that foldable smartphones are just too expensive. I'm glad that Samsung has realized that, and is taking steps to provide alternatives that are easier on the wallet, but no less exciting. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!
