I Fought The Law is a brand new four part drama series from ITV and Hera Pictures starring BAFTA winning actor Sheridan Smith.
Sheridan portrays Ann Ming in the heartbreaking and inspiring real-life story of a mother who, driven by unimaginable grief, finds strength to challenge the centuries-old Double Jeopardy Law to see her daughter's murderer finally brought to justice after a 15 year battle.
Produced by Hera Pictures (What It Feels Like For A Girl, Mary & George, Hamnet, Temple, Honour) the four-part series is written by Jamie Crichton (All Creatures Great and Small, The Last Kingdom, Grantchester) and is based on Ann Ming's book 'For The Love of Julie'.
The drama follows the tragic, moving, and deeply inspiring journey of the Ming family after the murder of their beloved 22-year-old daughter, Julie. In the wake of multiple police failings, Ann relentlessly pressures the authorities to uncover the truth and ensure the man responsible is brought to justice - despite initially seeming he will get away with murder.
Driven by love, grief, and extraordinary determination, Ann and her family campaign tirelessly in Julie's name. In her steadfast and indomitable style, Ann takes on the entire justice system - challenging the Crown Prosecution Service, the Law Commission, prominent defence barristers in television debates, the Government, the Lord Chancellor, the Attorney General, and two Home Secretaries - as she bravely 'fought the law.'
Commissioned by ITV's Director of Drama Polly Hill, I Fought The Law also features Daniel York Loh (Scarborough) as Ann's husband, Charlie Ming, and Enzo Cilenti (The Crown) as DS Mark Braithwaite.
The series also features Marlowe Chan-Reeves (Doctor Who), Olivia Ng (Phoenix Rise), Jake Davies (Grace), Victoria Wyant, Kent Riley (Mr Bates vs. The Post Office), Jack James Ryan (Passenger, Vera), Andrew Lancel (Unforgotten) and Rufus Jones (Hijack).
Hera Pictures produced the series in association with All3Media International. The Executive Producers for Hera Pictures are Liza Marshall and Charlotte Webber. The series is directed by Erik Richter Strand (The Crown) and produced by Mark Hedges (Time).

ITV Coronation Street's Theo exit 'sealed' as fans predict dark twist for Todd

Coronation Street viewers are convinced that they've worked out how Theo Silverton will leave the cobbles Coronation Street fans reckon they've figured out Theo Silverton's departure, as they anticipate a sinister twist involving Todd Grimshaw. Todd (played by Gareth Pierce) first encountered scaffolder Theo (portrayed by James Cartwright) in March. ‌ The two quickly became friends, and it was disclosed that Theo was set to tie the knot with a woman named Danielle, with the pair sharing two children. Theo found himself shunned by his family when Danielle discovered his relationship with Todd. ‌ Theo later confessed to Todd that he had spent most of his life hiding his sexuality, after his deeply religious parents forced him into conversion therapy during his youth. ‌ Viewers of the ITV soap have been worried for Todd recently as Theo has repeatedly shown aggression. He notably threatened James Bailey after he drunkenly attempted to kiss Todd at number eleven, and even struck his own son, Miles, during a tense family brunch last week. Theo's violent behaviour ultimately led Danielle to prevent her ex-husband from seeing their children, reports Leicestershire Live. During Monday night's episode (August 4) an enthusiastic Todd informed Theo that the corner shop flat was available for rent, with George Shuttleworth later confessing that he will miss Todd when he leaves. ‌ In an attempt to lift George's spirits, Todd proposed that they accompany Dev Alahan on his stag do at the Rovers, which left Theo feeling annoyed. At the stag do, Theo became bothered when Todd took a turn on the stripper pole, swiftly pretending to have a headache and insisting they head home. Once back at number eleven, Theo admitted to fabricating the headache, confessing to Todd: "I wanted you all to myself." Following Monday's episode, numerous Coronation Street viewers expressed their worries for Todd as Theo persists in distancing him from the rest of the street. ‌ Elsewhere, some fans are speculating about Theo's potential departure from Weatherfield. One viewer commented on a Facebook fan page: "Theo is definitely separating Todd from his loved ones. This isn't going to end well once they move into the flat". Another chimed in: "I think Todd will be in an abusive relationship. It's already starting. Theo could then get arrested and go to prison," while yet another cautioned: "Todd needs to watch out. Theo is bad news." ‌ Meanwhile on the soap, fans think they know what really happened to Logan Radcliffe and who had him 'attacked' amid speculation he's been killed off after his exit aired. It comes as actor Harry Lowbridge announced his departure, having wrapped filming his final scenes. This led viewers to speculate that Logan had met a grim fate in the cell, possibly orchestrated by someone wanting to silence him after his mention of a mysterious figure named Tia Wardley. One fan took to social media to declare: "Lisa definitely had Logan killed in prison." Another viewer speculated: "So that mutual friend? Costello? Kit? Tia? Or Becky herself?" A third chimed in: "Best guess at the moment is Costello or Floyd."

The duo presented the day's top stories and welcomed several guests, including former Strictly pros James Jordan, Brendan Cole, Pasha Kovalev, and Ian Waite. (Image: ITV) The TV presenter revealed: 'I'm a bit of a sofa dancer.' Everyone looked confused as she asked, 'Have you ever heard of one of them?' She explained: 'I love Strictly and I'm a massive fan.' While demonstrating the move, she shuffled from side to side on the sofa and continued: 'I sit there and watch it and do this on the sofa while watching them dance, and my toes are pointing.' She went on:' And before I know it, everyone is looking at me, thinking 'what are you doing?'" Before she could finish her sentence, James, who appeared as a professional on Strictly from 2006 to 2013, jumped in and joked: 'If you do it like that, don't ever do Strictly.' Everyone burst out laughing as Brendon also joked, 'I had a couple of partners like that.' (Image: ITV) It comes as Strictly Come Dancing fans patiently wait to find out which stars will appear on the dance floor for the new series.
