Jordon Hudson takes subtle shot at NFL reporter after Bill Belichick crack
Cleveland.com journalist Mary Kay Cabot cracked a joke about Belichick in apparent reference to Hudson while giving a speech after she received the Bill Nunn Memorial Award. The honor is given to a reporter from the Professional Football Writers of America for their "long and distinguished contribution to pro football through coverage."
Cabot started to cover the Browns in 1991, when Belichick initially took over as head coach. She said in her speech that Belichick would call her and "yell" at her if she wrote something he didn't like.
"Now I totally understand why Bill gave such a hard time," Cabot added, via Cleveland.com. "I was 28 at the time and he just couldn't relate to a woman that old."
Hudson is 24 years old and the relationship she has with Belichick was a huge talking point in the spring after an interview with CBS. Hudson appeared to try to shut questioning about their relationship down, and it shed light on some of the inner workings of what's going on between the two.
Hudson appeared to catch wind of the joke and reposted criticism that others had.
"Not much of a 'laugh,'" the critical post read. "No wonder so many have contempt for the media, especially those who want to be the story rather than roprt (sic) on the story."
The frenzy around Belichick and Hudson's relationship has simmered since its peak in the spring.
Belchick is gearing up for his first season as the Tar Heels' head coach. North Carolina's season begins on Sept. 1 against TCU.

"I see the bandage, and the second thing [Trump says] is 'what do you think of the bandage?'" Donalds said. "I said, 'I don't like it. Take it off.' That's what I said. 'I don't like it. Take it off.' I said 'let everybody see the ear.'' "He was like, 'you know, it's not too bad. It's not too bad'..."Doc Ronny [Jackson] says, I gotta wear the bandage." 'I'm like 'so what? You're the president just take the thing off,' Donalds added. The president's bandage became the inspiration for many at the RNC, with one Arizona delegate Joe Neglia describing it at the time as 'the newest fashion trend.' 'Everybody in the world is going to be wearing these pretty soon,' Neglia told CBS, while sporting a piece of white tape over his own ear. 'When he came in [to the convention], and there was that eruption of love in the room, I thought, 'what can I do to honor the truth? What can I possibly do?'' 'And then I saw the bandage and I thought, I can do that. So, I put it on simply to honor Trump and to express sympathy with him and unity with him.' At a rally shortly after the convention, Trump appeared to have downgraded his ear bandage, instead sporting a skin-colored band-aid covering the top part of his right ear.

Browns claim OT Kilian Zierer off waivers
The Browns claimed offensive tackle Kilian Zierer off waivers, the team announced Sunday. The Falcons waived Zierer, a native of Munich, Germany, last week. The Browns also announced they waived fullback Troy Hairston and wide receiver Winston Wright. Zierer did not begin playing football until the age of 16, but with a wingspan of 83 5/8 to go with his 6-foot-7, 304-pound frame, Zierer earned a college scholarship. He played at College of the Canyons and was the No.1 JUCO prospect at his position, according to Rivals, when he signed with Auburn. Zierer started every game at left tackle for the Tigers in 2022. He signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2023 but went on injured reserve late in training camp with an ankle injury. In 2024, Zierer spent the season on the Texans' practice squad as part of the International Player Pathway Program.
