India Gazette2 days ago

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 27 (ANI): On the occasion of International MSME Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday inaugurated the 'Youth adda' and launched a mobile application 'CM Yuva' in an effort to promote entrepreneurship in the state and help the youth with employment.
The UP CM congratulated the small and big entrepreneurs of the state and more than 2 crore employees in the Mirco, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) across the state, while also highlighting that the state is moving towards the idea of 'One District One Product' which has helped various areas to develop products on their own.
'Perfume from Kannauj, hardware from Aliganj, Chikankari from Lucknow, Dholak of Amroha, Barsuri of Pilibhit, today people have got a chance to move forward everywhere, people have moved forward,' CM Yogi said during his speech at the program.
'If the government works without discrimination, then development comes fast in the state. We gave training and after training we are giving tool kits,' he added.
Talking about the CM Yuva app, the Chief Minister mentioned that more than 90 lakh MSME units have been started under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana (CM-Yuva), which also helps people get an interest-free loan upto Rs 5 lakh. According to the CM, more than 55,000 people have joined the scheme.
'90 to 96 lakh MSME units have also been given security guarantee. We have started an app in the name of CM Yuva. If any youth wants to do business, then under this we are helping up to 5 lakhs without interest. Today 55 thousand youth are connected with it,'
Highlighting the transformation the state has gone through, he said that prior to 2017, that is before the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government was formed, UP was known for mafia and goons, hitting out at the Opposition Samajwadi Party for leaving the state behind.
'Remember Uttar Pradesh before 2017, it was known for mafias and goons. It was the most dangerous state for entrepreneurs and women... The state never got recognition because of the family-oriented parties. For their own benefit, they left the state behind. People were not getting rooms in hotels even after paying money,' the UP CM said.
On Thursday, according to the CM's office, the state government is 'set to take an initiative to make the transgender community self-reliant' by linking them to the CM Yuva Abhiyan, under which they will be given training and loan assistance based on skills.
According to the official statement, this initiative will not only strengthen the transgender community financially but will also play a decisive role in connecting them with the mainstream of society. (ANI)

Ghaziabad woman files complaint against RCB pacer Yash Dayal alleging exploitation on pretext of marriage

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 28 (ANI): Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Indian pacer, Yash Dayal, has been accused of exploitation on the pretext of marriage by a woman from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. The woman has lodged a complaint through the Chief Minister's online grievance portal, IGRS. In her complaint, the woman alleged that she had been in a relationship with the cricketer for the past five years, during which she was emotionally, mentally, and physically exploited. 'For the last five years, the complainant was in a relationship with a cricketer. The man emotionally, mentally and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage. He introduced the complainant to his family as their daughter-in-law, which made her trust him completely,' the complaint stated. The woman further alleged that when she confronted Dayal about the alleged deception, she was subjected to physical violence and mental harassment. 'During the relationship, the complainant was made emotionally and financially dependent on him. Later, she found that the man was involved in similar relationships with other women as well,' the complaint said. She claimed to have reached out to the women's helpline number 181 on June 14, 2025, but said that the matter did not progress at the police station level. Owing to financial and social helplessness, she turned to the Chief Minister's office seeking justice. 'She has chats, screenshots, video calls, and photos etc as evidence,' it added. 'The request is to investigate this matter promptly and impartially, and to take legal action against the accused. This step is important not only for her, but also for all girls who fall victim to such relationships,' it concluded. Notably, Yash Dayal was part of RCB's historic IPL 2025 title win earlier this month, taking 13 wickets in 15 matches. He has represented Uttar Pradesh in all domestic formats and is yet to make his India debut. (ANI)

Lorry carrying luxury cars catch fire near Poigai, Tamil Nadu; driver escape unharmed

ANI 29 Jun 2025, 01:24 GMT+10 Vellore (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 28 (ANI): A container lorry transporting luxury cars worth Rs 3.6 crore caught fire near Poigai village in Tamil Nadu's Vellore district on Friday, causing a temporary disruption along the busy Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway, police said. The lorry, carrying two high-end luxury cars valued at Rs 1.8 crore each, was en route from Chennai Port to Bengaluru when the incident occurred. The driver, identified as a 20-year-old Akash from Uttar Pradesh, reportedly swerved the vehicle to avoid an oncoming two-wheeler, causing the lorry to veer off and come to rest in an empty roadside area. The vehicle remained parked under overhead power lines for an extended period. According to preliminary investigations, strong winds may have caused the wires to scrape, triggering an electric surge. This surge is believed to have led to an explosion in the diesel tank, igniting a fire that engulfed the front section of the lorry. Upon receiving the alert, officers from Virinjipuram Police Station quickly notified the Vellore District Fire and Rescue Services. Firefighters arrived promptly and battled the flames for over an hour before successfully bringing the blaze under control. While the front of the lorry was completely destroyed in the fire, the container section housing the cars remained intact. No injuries were reported, and the luxury vehicles were not damaged. (ANI)

"Trying to shield the accused": BJP demands resignation of Mamata Banerjee over Kolkata gangrape case

New Delhi, [India], June 29 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched an all-out attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal over the alleged gangrape incident, with the party demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee. A female student was allegedly gang-raped inside the South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata's Kasba on Wednesday, June 25. Kolkata police has formed a five-member Special team to investigate the alleged gangrape of a law student in Kolkata. BJP leader Gourav Vallabh told ANI, 'What is the relationship between the gang rape accused and the TMC? Why do accused often emerge as members of the TMC party? In this case, the accused is also found to be a member of TMC. All of this is happening when the West Bengal Chief Minister is a woman... I believe Bengal has now become synonymous with anarchy, corruption, and nepotism. I strongly demand that a government that fails to protect its women must be dismissed. It is disgraceful to see MPs standing with the accused, claiming it was a matter of friendship or asking 'what should we do.' Such behaviour from TMC leaders, who are trying to shield the accused, is shameful... Mamata Banerjee should resign immediately...' The incident that comes 10 months after the RG Kar hospital rape and murder case has triggered a major political row in West and the BJP earlier in the day held separate protests over the incident. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers also held a 'Mashal March' demanding justice for the rape survivor.A female student was allegedly gang-raped inside the South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata's Kasba on Wednesday, June 25. The police have arrested three persons, including the main accused, and a five-member Special team has been formed to investigate the incident. Kolkata Police Chief Prosecutor Sourin Ghosal told ANI, 'We are investigating his (Guard of the Law College, Pinaki Banerjee) role in the alleged court has granted his police custody till July 1...' The main accused, Manojit Mishra, and his accomplices, Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, have been remanded to police custody till July 1. The BJP has set up a four-member fact-finding committee to investigate the case. BJP MP Sambit Patra made the announcement while addressing a press conference in the National Capital on Saturday. 'BJP President JP Nadda has formed a committee, and that committee will visit the spot and investigate. Its members are former Union Ministers Satpal Singh, Meenakshi Lekhi and MPs Biplab Deb and Manan Mishra. This committee will soon visit the spot and submit its report to the National President,' he said. Patra demanded that Mamata Banerjee apologise and resign as the Chief Minister. 'We are not asking for clarification from Mamata Banerjee. We are asking her to apologise and resign,' Patra said. Union Minister and West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar was detained on Saturday while protesting against the gangrape incident at South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata. The protest was organised by the party at Gariahat Crossing in Kolkata. Waiving the BJP flags, they attempted to climb over the barricades guarded by police personnel. (ANI)
