Brian Schottenheimer makes statement on Micah Parsons' future with Cowboys
Although things don't look great between Parsons and the Cowboys right now, Schottenheimer doesn't seem too fazed by the situation. When asked if he expects the All-Pro linebacker to be in uniform Week 1, he is hopeful things will eventually work themselves out.
"Micah is a competitor. I hope to see Micah out there soon. When the business gets worked out, it gets worked out," Schottenheimer told reporters Saturday.

When Parsons does land a new contract, it is sure to be a lucrative offer. Fellow top defensive stars such as Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt have landed deals that pay them around $40 million annually. Seeing that the Cowboys star is equally impactful of a talent, he is sure to command a similar price tag.

Despite Parsons' ongoing back-and-forth with the front office and ownership has gotten very public, Schottenheimer doesn't feel like it's been a distraction. He touched on how the rest of the group is putting all their time and energy into getting ready for the upcoming season.
"Our guys are focused on what we're trying to build," Schottenheimer said, via The Athletic. "As we get closer to a game week, it's exciting. We got the (Los Angeles) Rams coming in here next week. There are plenty of things for us to focus on. We're almost through the install. Our guys have a very singular focus, and that's getting better and getting ready to have a hell of a practice today."
The Cowboys are set to kick off their preseason schedule next weekend against the LA Rams.

DK Metcalf off to fast start at Steelers training camp
The Pittsburgh Steelers took a huge calculated risk this offseason. One of the moves to completely rebuild the offense was trading for wide receiver DK Metcalf. The first thought was the Steelers passing game would be explosive with Metcalf and George Pickens together on the Steelers. Then the Steelers pulled the rug out from under us and traded Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. We assume this was always the goal and the Steelers never planned to go into the season with both guys on the roster. All season long, we will be keeping a close eye on Metcalf and Pickens to see which player puts together the better season. Pickens won't have to be the Cowboys No. 1 receiver and should have a solid chance to play well without dealing with the type of coverage his teammate CeeDee Lamb will face. Meanwhile, Metcalf is far and away the Steelers' top receiver and will be the focus of opposing defenses every week. One of the NFL's best edge rushers has officially requested a trade, as Micah Parsons took to social media to declare his desire to leave the Cowboys amid ongoing contract talks — but one can't help but wonder if Steelers star T.J. Watt inadvertently played a major role in the decision.
