Large mob ransacks South Los Angeles AutoZone; incident may be connected to street takeover
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were dispatched to Hoover Street and Century Boulevard in the Vermont Vista neighborhood around 4:25 a.m.
Property was taken, LAPD confirmed, although they did not go into detail on what exactly was stolen.
Footage posted to the Citizen App shows a crowd of people outside the store and an adjacent gas station, as tires could be heard screeching in the background. Skid marks were later seen on the street.
A woman was heard saying, 'Somebody call 911; they're looting the AutoZone again.' KTLA has previously reported on two incidents that took place at the same location, one in June 2024 and another three months later in September.
At least 50 people were said to have been involved in the June incident, with 'hundreds' participating in the September ransacking, according to the LAPD.
Police did not disclose exactly how many suspects were involved on Sunday, but did say the incident may be connected to a nearby street takeover.

Video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows the aftermath of the looting, which left the front window of the business destroyed and merchandise scattered throughout the store, in addition to on the sidewalk and in the parking lot.
Expletives were also spray-painted on the exterior wall, one of which was directed at ICE.
Also scrawled on the wall was 'LL Huncho' — the 'LL' likely standing for 'Long Live.'
According to LAPD, no arrests were made in connection with the looting on Sunday.
