Ezra Miller eyes Hollywood comeback following Cannes appearance
Speaking to Italian outlet Lo Speciale Giornale, Miller said their return to the public sphere is still uncertain but creatively motivated. 'I came to Cannes to support one of my closest friends in the world, who is Lynne Ramsay, who I think is one of the greatest living filmmakers,' they said. 'I'm working with her again. That will likely be the first thing I do, a film that she and I are writing together.'
Miller, who broke out in Ramsay's acclaimed 2011 film We Need to Talk About Kevin, said they've found solace in writing during their time away from the industry. 'I've been writing a lot, because you can do that in solitude, which has been friendly to me,' they shared.

Filmmaker P Sheshadri, member of the jury panel, announced the award on Friday (August 1, 2025). A doctor-turned filmmaker, Chidananda is a graduate of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). The film, shot entirely at night with limited resources, had also qualified for the Oscars 2025 in the Live Action Short Film category. The film revolves around Seeba, a poor farmer, who dreams of owning a farm for his family but struggles to make ends meet. He sends his son abroad with the hope of fulfilling his dream but is shattered when his son tragically dies and he can't bring back his body. Directed by K Yashoda Prakash and produced by Swastik Entertainment, the movie was screened at the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) in 2023.
