Luis Diaz left out of Milan game due to discussions over Liverpool future, says Arne Slot
The Colombian attacker is being pursued by Bayern Munich, who had an opening offer of €67.5million (£58.6m; $78.8m) rejected earlier this month. The Bundesliga outfit remain determined to secure his service as talks between the clubs continue.

'In Lucho's situation it was (linked to his future), yeah,' Slot said.
'There are a lot of rumours around it lately and I cannot go into that. He is training really well with us but we have decided, for now, not to play him yet.
'Yes (I've spoken to Diaz about it) but I am used to talking to most of my players on a regular basis. Like I said, Lucho is training really well but we've decided that he is best not playing at the moment in the games and I cannot comment much more than that.'
Darwin Nunez was another high profile absentee against Milan. The Uruguayan has also been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this summer. However, Slot insisted that his absence was fitness related.
'In Darwin's situation, he has trained really well and played a few good games for us already this pre-season. He was injured so we didn't want to take the risk,' he added.
'It was also the same with Wata (Endo) — trained with us all week but we didn't want to take a risk with him either. It is part of pre-season, the boys need to get towards match fitness and that is a thin balance, a thin line sometimes. In this situation we thought it was smarter for Darwin and Wata to sit it out today but I assume they will be with us when we are in Japan for the next game.'
Asked if Diaz wants to leave Liverpool, Slot said: 'I am not the person to ask.'

Luis Diaz's medical details before signing with Bayern Munich
New Colombian in the Bundesliga. Luis Diaz's medical details before signing with Bayern Munich The long-anticipated transfer of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich reaches its final stages, with the Colombian winger scheduled for medical tests in Germany on Monday. Liverpool's hierarchy reluctantly agreed to the £65.4 million deal after Bayern's persistent pursuit finally met their valuation. Diaz's departure comes after months of frustration over stalled contract negotiations, with the 28-year-old feeling undervalued at Anfield. His absence during Liverpool's 4-2 pre-season defeat to AC Milan in Asia spoke volumes, with new manager Arne Slot acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding the player's future while praising his professionalism in training. Bayern's initial £58.5 million approach last week fell short, but Vincent Kompany's determination to land his target proved decisive. The improved weekend offer triggered Liverpool's acceptance, paving the way for Diaz to end his three-year Merseyside stint. Slot remained coy when pressed about potential exits, deflecting questions linking Darwin Nunez's similar absence to transfer speculation.

Man Utd Have Man City Transfer Target Who PSG Offered €7M Net Salary on Shortlist
PSG are dealing with growing uncertainty at the goalkeeper position, and Lucas Chevalier has surfaced as a potential long-term answer. While Gianluigi Donnarumma is under contract through 2026, talks over an extension have yet to produce an agreement. According to L'Équipe, Donnarumma began considering a departure from PSG even before the European season ended, despite publicly maintaining his commitment to the club. The report also notes that Manchester United and Manchester City have shown interest in the Italian since June. PSG are aiming to wrap up Chevalier's signing before making any decision on Donnarumma's future. Does Man Utd want to pursue PSG standout this summer?CaughtOffside reported Saturday that Donnarumma is among the top targets on Manchester United's shortlist. PSG have been in contract talks with the goalkeeper for more than a year, but despite offering him a €7 million net salary and €3 million in bonuses, the proposal didn't meet his expectations. Donnarumma has decided not to extend his deal, and with only one year left on his contract, PSG are prepared to sell him this summer. However, Manchester United may not be in a position to make a move. According to the Manchester Evening News, the club doesn't currently have a budget for a new No. 1 goalkeeper. Even so, Andre Onana is not expected to leave. He's reportedly committed to staying at Manchester United and has been assured he won't be sold or replaced.

Bayern preparing improved Diaz bid of more than £60m
Bayern Munich are planning an improved offer for Liverpool forward Luis Diaz. The Bundesliga side had an initial £58.6m bid for the Colombia international turned down by the Premier League champions earlier this month. But Bayern are determined to land Diaz and sources are indicating that the German title holders are hoping an agreement can be reached. The offer - inclusive of add-ons - will likely be more than £60m. Diaz was left out of Liverpool's squad for Saturday's 4-2 pre-season friendly defeat by AC Milan in Hong Kong because of speculation surrounding his departure from the club. "There are a lot of rumours around him lately and I cannot go into that," said Liverpool manager Arne Slot. "He's training really well with us but we've decided for now not to play him yet." Liverpool have signed forwards Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike already this summer and are interested in Newcastle United's Alexander Isak. Diaz arrived at Anfield from Porto in a deal worth an initial £37m in January 2022 and he was an integral part of the squad that won the 2024-25 Premier League title.
