Andy Diouf favours Crystal Palace move, despite Burnley agreement
Diouf is a long-term target for Crystal Palace and the Frenchman favours a move to the London club over Burnley, recently promoted back to the Premier League. The Clarets, unlike Crystal Palace, have an agreement in place with Les Sang et Or for a transfer worth €18m.

At this point, it looks highly likely that Diouf will leave Lens and that he will be playing in the Premier League next season. The question remains where. L'Équipe understands that Crystal Palace is seemingly the player's priority, however, the club have yet to reach an agreement with Les Sang et Or or the player. The France U21 international's current deal with Lens runs until the summer of 2028.

Joao Pedro double fires Chelsea into Club World Cup final
Joao Pedro scored twice on his full Chelsea debut as the Premier League side secured a place in the Club World Cup final – and a lucrative payday – with a 2-0 win over Fluminense. The Brazil forward, who only completed his £60million move from Brighton last week, struck in style in each half as Chelsea overcame his first professional club and sweltering conditions in New York on Tuesday. Advertisement Their reward for victory is a guaranteed cash prize of around £80million and the chance to play for a jackpot exceeding £90m in Sunday's final against Real Madrid or Paris St Germain. Joao Pedro celebrated in respectful style against his first professional club (Seth Wenig/AP) Manager Enzo Maresca handed Pedro, who made his debut off the bench in the quarter-final defeat of Palmeiras, his first start in the absence of the suspended Liam Delap. It was a decision which paid very rich dividends as Chelsea battled past a Fluminense side who, captained by veteran former Blues defender Thiago Silva, had defied expectations to reach the last four. The temperature was around 34C at kick-off at MetLife Stadium and Chelsea were playing their 63rd game of a season that began last August. Advertisement Yet they still made a strong start with the influential Enzo Fernandez having a shot blocked and then floating in a free-kick which Tosin Adarabioyo headed wide. Pedro Neto was also lively and it was his break down the left which led to Pedro's stunning opener on 18 minutes. Neto whipped in a cross which was cleared only as far as the former Brighton striker on the edge of the area and he brilliantly curled a shot beyond 44-year-old goalkeeper Fabio. It was a spectacular way to open his account for his new club but Pedro's celebrations were notably muted, almost apologetic, in front of the Fluminense fans. Advertisement Chelsea could have immediately doubled their lead after Neto picked out Malo Gusto but the Frenchman's stooping header was straight at Fabio. They were almost made to regret that miss when Hercules broke through and rounded Robert Sanchez but Marc Cucurella cleared off the line. Chelsea had another scare when French referee Francois Letexier pointed to the penalty spot after a Fluminense cross flicked the head of Thiago Santos and then struck the arm of Trevoh Chalobah. It seemed a harsh decision and was reversed following a VAR review. Chelsea threatened again before the break when a Neto strike was deflected wide and Sanchez came to their rescue after the restart when he saved from Everaldo. Advertisement Pedro struck the decisive blow on 56 minutes as Chelsea broke from deep inside their own half. Fernandez found Pedro with a superb through-ball and he cut inside Ignacio to hit a thunderous shot in off the underside of the bar. From then it became a case of seeing out the job and, although booked for time-wasting, Chelsea keeper Sanchez was not troubled. On the downside, Moises Caicedo appeared to pick up an injury in the closing stages. Nicolas Jackson could have added a third goal when he fired into the side-netting.

'World-class' striker wants Liverpool move
Galatasaray in lead for Osimhen Galatasaray are believed to be the frontrunners - with the Istanbul giants willing to pay around £55m to make Osimhen a permanent member of their squad. The player's pay packet, meanwhile, is reported to have come down from around £400k per week to only £200k per week. Those sums represent decent value in today's market with Osimhen netting 37 times in 41 games last season. Advertisement Now a report from TBR Football claims that while Galatasaray lead the race for the marksman, Osimhen actually prefers a move to Liverpool. Osimhen 'would like' England move However with the player and his camp seeking a quick resolution, he could opt to take what is on offer in Turkey instead of hanging on any longer for a Premier League move to materialise. 'Osimhen would like to move to England,' the report reads. 'He is not going to wait all summer with the hope of a switch to Liverpool, Manchester United or another Premier League club. That is why he is now ready to commit to Galatasaray.' © IMAGO Osimhen in contact with Liverpool It's also been claimed that Osimhen's camp have been in touch with both Liverpool AND Manchester United in recent days although no bid is likely to be forthcoming from the two English sides. Advertisement 'There is interest in England with Liverpool and Manchester United both engaging with his people this summer, but they have not stepped up with a firm offer to this point. "The two Premier League giants have been spoken to again in recent days, but as yet, no bid has arrived or is expected to.'

Manchester United ready to move for AZ Alkmaar midfielder
Man United Step Up Kees Smit Pursuit as Rebuild Intensifies Midfield Vision for a New Era Manchester United's intent to secure teenage sensation Kees Smit from AZ Alkmaar sends a clear message — the rebuild at Old Trafford is not only underway but targeting the roots. As reported by TBR Football, Jason Wilcox is prepared to go all in on the 19-year-old midfielder, widely regarded as the standout talent in the Eredivisie this season. Advertisement United's 15th-place Premier League finish last campaign was both humbling and unacceptable. It left INEOS and Wilcox no choice but to act decisively. 'The Red Devils basically need to reconstruct large chunks of their squad to catapult themselves back into the upper echelons of English football after a desperate campaign,' and it's clear that youth is a cornerstone of that plan. INEOS Focus on Tomorrow's Stars United's recent transfer activity may look thin on paper — Matheus Cunha the only major signing, and the Bryan Mbeumo pursuit dragging — but there's been quiet success in cornering the market for elite youth. Ayden Heaven, Leny Yoro, Chido Martin, and now Paraguayan teenager Diego Leon are all part of this long-term strategy. Photo IMAGO Advertisement Smit could soon follow. 'Already described as a 'total footballer' by Voetbal Primeur, he boasts brilliant technical ability in the midfield, having drawn comparisons to current United star Bruno Fernandes and Tottenham's James Maddison.' United's midfield of the future may already be taking shape. Wilcox's Race Against Europe With Real Madrid also circling, Wilcox is not just scouting talent, he's fighting time. 'Now, according to TBR Football, United have been tracking his progress and are now reportedly ready to launch a firm move for his services this summer.' There's urgency in the tone, perhaps desperation after last season's collapse. Smit, fresh from winning the Under-19s European Championship with the Netherlands, featured 30 times for AZ last season and scored twice. These aren't just numbers. They are the makings of a player ready for a bigger stage. Advertisement Midfield Revolution in Motion United need more than potential. They need production and polish. But with Smit, they may get both in time. 'Man Utd ready to make Kees Smit approach,' reads the telling final line. One that could define not just a window but an era under Wilcox. Our View – EPL Index Finally, it looks like United have a plan. After years of wasteful spending and short-term solutions, this pursuit of Kees Smit feels like a step in the right direction. The idea of building around young, technically gifted players like Smit is exactly what fans have been crying out for. That said, excitement comes with caution. United have missed out on similar talents before, especially when Real Madrid are sniffing around. It's encouraging to see Wilcox pushing hard, but fans will want to see that firm offer come sooner rather than later. Advertisement Smit's comparison to Maddison and Bruno is bold, but if he's half the player either is, this could be a steal. Given he's already got 30 games in the Eredivisie and is a European champion at youth level, it feels like the perfect time to strike. Now it's up to United to actually get this one over the line. Another failure in the market, especially with midfield depth still thin, would be a brutal blow. But if they pull this off, it could be one of the smartest moves of the summer.
