Stay away from drugs for a bright future
He said police alone can't wipe out the evil of drug abuse and needs the support of everyone in the society to end the menace for the better future of the youth. Instead of keeping away drug addicts and look at them with contempt, people should be compassionate towards them and should find out the reason for drug abuse, he suggested.
He further said that family members also should approach drug addicts with love and affection to get them out of the addiction. Teachers also on their part must keep a watch on students to notice any abnormal behaviour and alert parents.
Stating that drug usage starts as fun in the beginning but later it shatters their life, and in many cases youth turn to drugs due to failure in studies, the SP appealed to people to stop looking at drug addicts as criminals and show a humane approach that would go a long way in bailing them out of drug addiction. The district police intensified enforcement against drug sales and abuses.
Drone cameras were also introduced to identify the shadow zones where drug supply and sales are going on and also desolated places, where drug abuse is more.
Later in the evening, an awareness rally from RDO office to MR Palli Dandi circle was held with students of various colleges participating holding placards and banners.
District Collector Dr S Venkateswar, MLA Arani Srinivasulu and others also participated in the rally.
In Chittoor, International Day of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed on Thursday. Marking the occasion, a meeting and rally was held. District Collector Sumit Kumar and SP Manikanta Chandolu, who participated in the meeting, stressed on concerted efforts to check drug abuse. Expressing concern on more and more youth falling prey to drug abuse, they emphasised on creating awareness among youth to remain away from drug abuse.

SP conducts surprise inspection in Tirumala
Tirumala: Tirupati district SP V Harshavardhan Raju instructed police personnel to be prepared for the successful and peaceful conduct of Brahmotsavams this year, which is scheduled from September 24 to October 2. On Thursday, he made a surprise inspection in Tirumala covering various places including Lepakshi area, Balaji nagar, Kalyanakatta, Akhilandam, CRO Office. Sri Ram Sene's protest march stopped by police in Belagavi
Belagavi: Hundreds of Sri Ram Sene activists, led by their chief Pramod Mutalik, attempted to launch the 'Ingali Chalo' protest march from Belagavi on Thursday, condemning the recent assault on cow vigilantes at Ingali village in Hukkeri taluk. However, police detained the activists before the march could commence. The protest was in response to the incident where five Sri Ram Sene members were allegedly tied to a coconut tree and assaulted by locals in Ingali village. Belagavi police have since arrested four accused and registered a suo-motu case in connection with the attack. According to Belagavi superintendent of police Dr Bhimashankar Guled, the conflict was triggered after the activists allegedly entered the residence of a Muslim family, causing panic among women inside. He said this intrusion provoked the reaction from villagers. The SP also raised concerns about the background of one of the assaulted individuals, who is a rowdy sheeter, and questioned whether he officially represented the Sri Ram Sene. Rejecting the SP's version of events as 'false' and 'misleading,' Sri Ram Sene launched the 'Ingali Chalo' campaign. In response to SP Guled's remarks questioning the involvement of a rowdy sheeter in the vigilante group, Mutalik defended the individual. Three accused in train robbery held, stolen items recovered
Indore: GRP Meghnagar arrested three accused involved in a robbery that took place on a train. SP Indore Santosh Kori said that the arrests led to the recovery of the looted mobile phone and cash. The incident occurred on the night of June 26, at around 9 PM. The complainant, along with his brother and friends, was travelling from Ujjain to Dahod on the Bhopal–Dahod passenger train. While the train was halted at Billadi station, four unidentified assailants boarded the train, assaulted the complainant and his brother, and looted a smartphone valued at Rs 14,500 and Rs 2,400 cash before fleeing the scene. Meghnagar police registered a case and started investigations. The SP said that a special team identified and arrested the three accused involved in the crime. Bahadur Gamad (21), Ramu Khadera (19) and Ashok Gamad, residents of Ratlam, were arrested under relevant sections. The police recovered the stolen mobile phone and Rs 1,650 cash. The fourth accused is a 14-year-old juvenile whose identity is protected as per legal provisions. Efforts are underway to apprehend him soon.
