Mixed in the Longhorns No. 1 2025 recruiting class was all-purpose back Michael Terry III. The San Antonio native, who was ESPN's No. 30 prospect in the 2025 cycle, had over 3,000 career all-purpose yards his senior year and was Texas' District 13-5A MVP.
During his time at Alamo Heights, Terry got snaps at wide receiver, running back, and on special teams. Rivals analyst Adam Gorney called him a "jack of all trades."
'If there is a concern it's whether Terry is a jack of all trades and a master of none. I like to think of it the other way, though, that Terry can play anywhere, fix any issue and be a tremendous contributor to the team. Does he lead the Longhorns in one statistical category? Probably not. But he contributes everywhere and his impact is felt in that sense." Rivals national recruiting analyst Adam Gorney on Michael Terry III
This week, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian echoed Gorney's assessment and said the coaching staff wants Terry to focus on one position first, then branch out into some of the other things he can do.
"He's a guy who did everything in high school. From wildcat quarterback to running back to receiver to even at times looking like a tight end. So what we've done with Michael here through spring and through summer is let him hone in on one thing." - Steve Sarkisian on Michael Terry III
What position do the Texas coaching staff have the San Antonio native focusing on? Wide receiver.
"We've really got him honed in on receiver right now. And you see real flashes of the physical ability that he has. When you're a jack of all trades, like he was in high school, we're trying to get him to be a master of one first." - Steve Sarkisian on Michael Terry III
Sark says once Terry masters the wide receiver position, then the coaching staff will be let him branch out.
"Once he can master that, or come close to, then we can start to let him begin to spread his wings and do more things for us. Time will tell the impact it will have for us this fall." - Steve Sarkisian on Michael Terry III
The Longhorns coach says Terry is well on his way to mastering his first positional task.
"From where he was Day 1 of spring ball to where he is in the middle of July, this summer, the amount of improvement he's made. I think last Thursday was one of his best days of just being comfortable and playing the position and looking natural to him. He's going to catch on quickly, because he's such a gifted athlete." - Steve Sarkisian on Michael Terry III

ESPN unimpressed with Steelers roster changes this offseason in rankings

2025 has been an unprecedented offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh took a hyper-aggressive approach to roster building, including some huge free-agent additions and two blockbuster trades. This is all in an attempt to finally get the Steelers over the hump and actually win a playoff game. ESPN ranked every NFL roster and despite all the moves, they seem underwhelmed by the Steelers. They have Pittsburgh ranked at No. 19 overall. The identified edge rusher as the roster's biggest strength. While we agree that the foursome of T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig and Jack Sawyer are probably the best in the AFC, this group (minus Sawyer) hasn't been great the last three seasons. Pittsburgh only had 40 sacks last season and hasn't had more than 47 since 2021. As far as the biggest weakness, ESPN went with offensive tackle. This is absolutely a fair point. Broderick Jones has moved to left tackle after taking a step back in his second season and new right tackle Troy Fautanu is coming off of a serious knee injury and is a completely unknown. Alcantara, Cabrera both in top 30 of ESPN's top MLB trade prospects

Before their appearances on the mound versus the San Diego Padres on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, Edward Cabrera and Sandy Alcantara's trade rumors continue to swirl around the league. In ESPN's most recent trade deadline predictions, both Marlins pitchers cracked the top 30 most likely to be dealt — Alcantara landing at No. 4 and Cabrera at No. 18. But Marlins teammate and All-Star Kyle Stowers said they try not to let the speculation get to them on the field. 'Obviously, it's a part of the business,' Stowers said. 'But I think it can be more exhausting to try to play the hypotheticals... At the end of the day, what's going to happen will happen.' Sandy Alcantara, the 2022 NL Cy Young Award winner, has consistently struggled this season, raising questions about his future with the team. After his most recent start against the Kansas City Royals on Friday, his ERA lands at a whopping 7.14, and his inconsistency has fueled the speculation surrounding his name. ESPN currently gives him a 50% chance of being traded, a number that seemed unthinkable just a season ago. 'He has been tinkering this season to try to get his pitch mix and locations right in hopes of regaining his former glory,' wrote ESPN insiders Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan. Cabrera, on the other hand, has been a bright spot in an otherwise up-and-down Marlins rotation. Despite dealing with minor injuries and making three fewer starts than Alcantara, he's posted a 3.61 ERA and leads the team with 86 strikeouts. ESPN pegs his trade likelihood at 30%, but with a fastball topping out at 97 mph and a diverse pitch mix that troubles both lefties and righties, he's seen as one of the more valuable young arms on the market. For the Marlins, they could get a serious payout for him with three more years under team control. 'Cabrera has premium stuff, and he's got a lot of weapons,' General Manager Clayton McCullough said earlier this season. With just days remaining before the trade deadline, the upcoming series against the Padres could play a critical role in determining both pitchers' futures. Their performances could raise — or lower — their trade value. Either way, this could very well be the last time we see Cabrera and Alcantara wearing a Marlins uniform.
